I am in the Fade for the Broken Circle quest. After getting the Golem Form, I understand that I am to use Hurl on massive doors, but none of them break down. I've also tried Quake, but that doesn't work either. And I have used both on the quick-mapped buttons and on the radial menu.
This has happened with TWO different characters: an Elf Mage that first worked on Arl of Redcliffe, when Eamon's son is possessed and I am allowed to leave to retrieve the Circle of Magi; and a Human Noble that first started on Broken Circle.
If it helps, I'm playing a copy downloaded from Games on Demand. I would really like to continue with this quest and game.

Being picky: you state you use hurl in Golem form, but have you ever just targeted the massive doors and clicked to open them as other doors in the game? The Golem should then automatically 'open' the door by using hurl.

you need to hold the A button for a few seconds then he will smash the door

I did that, but all it says is "Not possible to pick."

Hm...if you've tried opening it as if it was a normal door in Golem mode (which automatically uses hurl) and it doesn't work, then it sounds as if it is glitched.
The only other thing I would consider is reload from an earlier save (which solves a few but not all problems).
But there is the option to clear the cache as well which you may want to consider, assuming you are up to date with your patches.

Got the problem fixed. Turns out that I didn't have Hurl ready when I tried opening the door. Thank you guys for the help. Greatly appreciated!
