Hello all,
This is my first post, and I really did try to browse this site.  Am I the only one who has trouble getting relevant search results?  Anyway thats not my question.

I recently switched from 360 to PS3, and had been reluctant to buy games I already had on the other console.  But I decided to make an exception for the DA series.   So now that I have literally every game/add on from DA:O to DA:II DLC, I'm going to play the entire series through.   Basically, I'm looking for tips, hints, lessons learned, from anyone who has played the entire series to this point.  If there was one thing you wish you would have done differently?

I relish console RPGs, but I am in no way 'smart' on RPG basic info, (i.e. tactics, dialogue, class tips, etc.).  I've never played a PC game, (kids these days).   I've scoured the DA Wiki, but they just seem to describe things like "tactics' without really getting into the 'philosophy' of the feature. I realize one of the best aspects of RPGs is the freedom of choice, but I feel like I'm not getting the entire experience of the game when I try to make a rouge with full archer AND dual wield trees who is a Bard.

Any feedback is appreciated. --Matt

I read the post and think maybe I could be a little more specific about what I was looking for. For example when you first start DA: Origins there are three DLC quests available. I'm looking for info like when, if it matters at all, would be the best time to do those quests.

Another example. The DLC that takes place before the events of Origins; should you play that before Origins? Does it matter? Hope this helps.

It doesn't really matter if you play Lellianas Song first, although it might be a bit of a spoiler on her later dialogue with you when she talks about her past. Getting achievements in this DLC will unlock some items which will appear in the inventory of all existing and future characters, including a very strong armour.

Sulchers pass/the stone prisoner is safe to do after Lothering if you wish to do so.
Wardens Keep and Return to Ostagar have items that vary in level depending on what level you are when you did these, so it might be worth doing at least one main quest beforehand. There is a way to get these items to level up to tier 7 when you are a high enough level, I think placing them in the party chest and exiting/reentering the area and removing the items that have levelled then repeating til all are done will work on the PS3 version.

I appreciate the help. When I played Origins for 360 when it first came out, I played on normal and just could not get the hang of tactics, (like where in the priority list to put self-healing). Little things like that made this one of the hardest RPGs I've played, (I guess that's because of the PC origins of the developers). It got to the point where I just started lowering the difficulty before big battles. Not fun!

I almost didn't buy DA:II because of how confusing the gameplay of Origins was, (remember, casual gamer). What is a good resource for learning about the principles of RPGs in general?
