I am also confused as to why they didn't walk over to the ME2 team and borrow their code for the face gen strings that could be shared and easily used.

Maybe they were afraid to ask for to much from the ME2 team, since they already stole the conversation wheel.

Second this.

With all the mods that change chargen, it's getting really hard not to skip any option. You can see clearly that the chargen this time was made to work really well with the analog stick on the xbox 360 and ps3 controllers but awfully ported to the pc, it's really hard to change things with the mouse. This is one of the things that bugs me the most.

I agree completely, might just be the hardcore bioware fanboy deep inside me, but I have no real issues with the game itself, I love it. But the annoyance with character creation sliders is bugging me ~~

now there's a few mods around adding customisation options this is becoming a real problem. at least enabling the mouse scroll wheel to cycle through them would be a help, but having to select them with tiny drags of the mouse is very awkward

Yeah, especially mods like Pineappletree s Vibrant Colors for DA2, which includes;
46 new skin tones, 42 new eye colors and 48 new stubble & eyebrow colors.

So if a modder can help out or at least let us know if this is possible. Would be amazing.

Aye, I got that mod myself. And other mods, for other customization options.

For you modders out there, is this even possible to do now without a toolset?

I hope it's possible, otherwise we're going to have to beg BioWare to patch it and it's probably not going to be a high priority

Adding my support for this, too, if it's possible to implement.

In Origins it was easy to recreate a character by jotting down the number of mouse clicks on each slider, but it's an exercise in frustration with DA2.

Just adding a bump with the hopes that a bored modder notices the thread ^^

I want to add my support for this as well! It's getting harder and harder to pick character creation elements now that there is all these extra stuff for it.

Adding not only a bump but another hope that a modder can shed some light if this is even do-able or not with the lack of a toolset, and even then, if it's possible.

If not, would have better luck making it a petition for the dev-team.

sadly it's looking like it can't be modded, I guess somebody would have by now if it could be. we can hope BioWare will fix it but it might be a long wait :(
