Does this damage biotic barriers and, if so, how much?

I play as an Adept, and as far as I've noticed, no. Throw does little (if any at all) damage to any protection on Insanity. Only if they're unprotected, and even then, they have to be thrown at something large with quite a bit of force.

It gets a standard biotic multiplier to damage barriers. The base damage is low enough that you generally wont notice it. Heavy throw does a decent chunk to barriers given the short cool down. Warp is probably the better option, but if someone has a damaged barrier it can be a decent choice.

All powers do damage to all defenses, that includes lift and throw, but they don't get a modifiers to them like warp does barriers(2x) or overload does on shields(2x). The lower levels do very little damage but the heavy version will actually do around 1/4 to 1/3 the damage a warp will do and it will also stagger the enemy, which can be very handy. If the enemy is effected by biotics and rag-dolled the damage is of course doubled, meaning it will do close to the same damage warp will but at half the cool down and launch the enemy in the process.

Basically saying even if a power is redded out you can still use it to some effect no matter what you are facing. While there may be better things to use, it can still be effective if you want the shorter cool down, or the stagger effect which can be useful for setting up other things.

Thanks for the info. This will be useful in my current Sentinel playthrough.

I found that I won't have enough points to max out Overload, Warp, Tech Armor, Passive, and my bonus power even at the level cap (this is because you have to spend 3 points on Throw to unlock Warp). I have decided to not go with Warp at all, but max out Throw (evolve to Throw field for Husk control), Overload, Tech Armor, Passive, and my bonus power. The Bonus power will be Warp ammo which will deal with barriers and enhance damage to armor and health. I plan on taking assault rifle training on the Collector ship and rolling with the M96 Mattock.

To clarify one thing, while it does not get x2 damage like warp which does extra damage to armor and barriers, it does x1.5 damage vs barriers as all biotic powers do.
