It's a series of hidden codex based on the adventures of this "band of three." You should be able to find at least three entries (although there are more than that) per act. They are called "The Enigma of Kirkwall," and can be somewhat tricky to locate.
A bit of a spoiler below.
The story seems to be about these mysterious three persons who are investigating how much of the vast Tevinter scrolls and tomes survived and how badly the veil is torn underneath the city. There also hints to a more specific purpose but I only found 7 (I think) of the scrolls and they did not seem to ever conclude much of anything. Still, an interesting compilation of events that I would be very interested in learning more about.
