They only do covers of games a good bit off, at least six months.

Portal 2 was last year.

Battlefield 3 was done, as was Skyrim.

Uncharted 3 was covered a good amount in the Skyrim issue.

I bet its Mass Effect 3. Can't wait to see. Im sure, too, they want to switch gears fast after DA2...

To be honest I'm surprised that we don't have more information on ME3. There are games coming out in the same period that already have gameplay trailers.

I'll be happy if it is that or ME3. Anything else and I burn my copy of Game Informer... After I read it all, that is...

It would be misleading if all you do is look at it at face value. Instead, deduce some things.

It's April, E3's coming in 2 or so months. It's the perfect time to have a full information blowout on ME3 before actual footage at E3.

Because they've already done features on all those games. GI reveals usually are on games that are not officially announced, but that everyone already knows is coming. It could be Beyond Good and Evil 2 like someone already said, or Splinter Cell 6, Assassin's Creed III, or Thief 4.

It would be great if it was ME3, but I'm not holding my breath.

Gears 3 already been on Game Informer's cover.

has it? then i guess i didnt get mine in the mail then yet. id say itll be me3 because with games like skyrim and cod mw 3 dropping in november bioware should release intel on a actual date and i still hope for a oct 28th release seeing as alot of people christmas shop around that time

They had a Gears 3 issue a couple months ago, and saints Row the third issue has been out for a couple weeks. Most anticipated sequels are either been in Game Informer issues already or have had enough coverage not to warrant an issue. My guess would be ME3 unless highly anticipated is a slightly exaggerated and it is actually prototype 2 or darkness 2 maybe. (Not saying they're bad just not as high anticipated.)

the video game awards said prototype 2 isnt due till 2012..... so id still run with mass effect 3 if anything

That was the issue we got this month, in magazine time "this" months magazine is said to be the following months, say you get a magazine in march like saints row, even though you got it in March, it's the April issue, so nexts month highly anticipated sequel will be Mays issue. Don't know personally why they do that.

thats what they do with comics also. you buy a comic in march and on the new book it says april issue. it gets me confused alot

We'll see, I'm not getting my hopes up but that'd be swell.

Some of the guesses here are downright wrong... purely because of the fact that most of the games they've talked about have had gameplay media (such as in-game screens) and information already revealed in other magazines.

Game Informer always pick exclusives -- as in games with, at the most, a CGI trailer or another sort of teaser.

So Gears 3, Portal 2, Silent Hill: Downpour are out.

It could be any of Uncharted 3, Mass Effect 3, Max Payne 3, GTA V, Modern Warfare 3, Assassin's Creed 3, who knows?

they had a demo of bf3 when i was at c2e2 one week ago. i was gona try it but the line was huge

^^^All these have already been on the cover and thus had an information blowout. Uncharted 3 had a huge info reveal in Playstation Magazine, so there is zero reason for Game Informer to choose that. There are already in game pictures, videos, cutscenes, gameplay/multiplayer/story info, etc. Game Informer picks games that haven't had barely if any info or footage shown.

ME3 is prime time for it. They also do not pick games that haven't been officially announced. So GTA 5 and MW3 are out.

They also where the ones who did the Dragon Age 2 blowout, so I bet they have a decent relationship with Bioware already.

I would put my money on ME3 or maybe a game that has not been announced, but is highly anticipated. (Next COD or Halo installment, etc.....)
