well, thats what you get for being silly and dealing with a console PC instead and pay no fee for service and everything they both do.

Though I'm lucky, I grabbed a bunch of 1600 points cards when they were on 50% sale, also got one lying around for preordering DA2.

I hate getting ripped off like that.

From what I've seen so far, I prefer xbox live. And I have a PS3 as well. Besides, you do not have to pay for a gold membership to get DLC.
That is the most grevious issue I have with DLCs, Pinnacle Station costs more than ME1 itself. \\o/
As if that's not bad enough, Pinnacle Station is the worst ME (1 and 2) DLC and doesn't carry over into ME2 either. Funny thing is that they give you the other ME1 DLC for free, and that's so much better than Pinnacle Station.

termo - actually for Australians, the EA site is slightly cheaper for 1600 points, and slightly more expensive for 800 points.

Would be great to have a sale for sure.
I was just looking into the DLC as of now and it just makes no sense that to get all the worthy stuff, you have to pay roughly $30-$40 in bioware points... Hell it's more than what i paid for my collector edition of the game.
Yep, bought full games for less aswell.
I still haven't bought any DLC so far, like others it seems, waiting for a PC DLC sale too.
I was never in favour of DLC though, bang for buck, it just doesn't compare with a full expansion and I prefer expansions with all the new content in one large amount, over DLC and little bits over time.
People say stuff like it's only $8, they are not seeing the bigger picture, when you add all the $8 up and then the amount of hours total, you can see an expansion clearly beats it.
Hopefully we get a DLC sale for the PC soon.

You only need a free silver account to buy DLC.AdmiralCheez wrote...

I was going to mention that too. At least that's what happened for the last ME2 DLC sale, it was available to everyone who had the xbox version.Naltair wrote...

However, Steam does not handle ME DLCs, I checked.

I'm in the same boat and usually don't touch DLC, I frankly hate the concept ever since horse armor and it only seems to get worse every years. I test the waters maybe with 1 of them and depending on the quality, buy the remaining ones or not. I think the main problem however is that the point system prevent it from really being able to have sales. I buy DLC on steam all the time for my favorite games when it usually go down 50%-75% off.
I'd love to do a ''full'' playthrough of Mass Effect 2 but can't bring myself to basically drop the equivalent of a new game for it. At that point, i'd rather buy another game. It's unfortunate that if you basically didn't touch the DLC along the years and recently decided to catch up, you have such a steep price to overcome. If they dropped everything but the Cerberus Network in one pack for $20 or so i'd buy it.

I'm of the same mind.
Of course, if ME2 takes the same course as DAO, an Ultimate Edition may become the de facto bundle pack whenever it goes on sale.

I'm not sure how the points system prevents sales. I agree it might be unwise for them to put the points themselves on sale, since that punishes people who stocked up on them in the past. Doesn't stop them from dropping the price of specific DLCs in points, though.

What I should have said is competitive sales. You can only buy points from EA or Bioware since it's their system, it's preventing deals from being made with and from retailers whenever they have a Mass Effect 2 deal going on. It also leads to that problem where there is a lack of exposition of those deals since the Bioware/EA marketplace you buy points at is very niche and the deals don't happen on regular basis to entitle people to watch for them regularly. On the other hand, I check steam every day or at least once a week because I know there is consistant deals happening every week.
For example, steam might have a large sale going on at some point with Mass Effect along with DLC, another week it might be Direct2Drive, it's not tied to a specific place so if you miss one, you might catch the other. Not that DLC bought in one place is necessarely compatible with different versions but still, it would allow for those big package deals to exist without needing a special package a la DA:O Ultimate from Bioware/EA.

How hard is it to just say "yes", "no", "we'll think about it", "probably not" etc? It takes what, 30 seconds max?
I'm sick of being ignored. I post on the EA forums and it gets ignored and deleted. I ask EA directly and I get fobbed off. I ask here and it gets ignored. Ridiculous.

And if there's a game of the year edition it will be so much cheaper on steam anyway, probably less for everything than all the dlc combined.

The sales you are seeing on XBL are Microsoft led in other words Microsoft is taking a hit on their cut of the DLC so they can sell it cheaper. That is Microsofts choice and it is up to them what they do on their platform it has nothing to do with Bioware.
Now obviously some are unhappy with the current DLC pricing and that is fair enough but making a nuisance of yourself on this forum is not going to be all that productive and will not encourage any response other than a negative one from Bioware.

As I pointed out in another thread there has already been a Bioware sale at Christmas where they gave you 50% off Bioware points. Now if you had been a shrewd gamer you could have bought enough points to enable you to buy all the DLC at half price. If you missed the sale then the best advice I can give you is to follow Bioware on their twitter and facebook.

There was no 50% off Bioware points. A lot of us would have jumped on it if that were the case, even though I despise the whole system of same as Microsoft points.

I would simply be fine with an answer on whether or not there will be a sale at some point. I understand the XBL sale is not under Bioware's control but they should give PC gamers some sort of an incentive. I personally think that the dlc prices are too steep they way they are.

Purchase 800 Bioware Points and get 25% off DA:O, Awakening, ME, ME2
Purchase 1600 Bioware Points and get 50% off DA:O, Awakening, ME, ME2
Not the same.
Plus, I've found that being a pest is frequently the only way to actually get attention. EA has told me on numerous occasions now to keep posting here, so that's what I'll do.
