On top of revealing just how substantial future content for Dragon Age 2 will be, Laidlaw also confirmed that DLC will very much be centered on the story of Hawke. Though gamers will, of course, be encountering new characters and enemies, they will be doing so in DLC that feels like an extension of the main game.
....I'm just thinking out loud here....but was DA2 designed to cost us 60-65 dollars and then they nickle and dime us with DLC expanding the story until they're done with us?
I love the ME2 story-based DLC, but ME2 felt like a finished game, it's ending felt final. This ending felt....unfinished. It was a huge tease, like the game was an origin for DA3.
So giving us Hawke expansions in mircopayments without having finished a story in DA2 feels....yeah, like they're nickle and dimeing us.

It's actually similar to the Sopranos series finale. Just ending and going to credits isn't the only thing an ending has. There has to be a sense of closure that the characters did something. I didn't feel like Hawke did anything.
Except kill a few minor characters and then run off without saying a word.

I think that was the intent, anyway. It was still a cheap ending. For example Godfather 2 had a similar ending with Michael but they handled it perfectly.

I'm sure the existence of the Vigilance models in the game files (both 1h and 2h) that aren't used hint at a DLC centered around them.

Excellent thats just what I want stuff in the game that instead of making accessible in the normal game can only be accessed with DLC hooray!

Been happening since Mehrunes' Razor in Oblivion. Pretty blatant really.
In DA2 every promo item is in the game files whether you "earn" it or not, even the Dead Space armour. <_<

The way I see it... the climax of the game is the Arishok duel(and that should really have been more epic)... actIII is more like a set-up for DAIII
Yeah the prelog to DA 3

I hope it'll be consistent with the Vigilance sword you chose in Awakening. I don't feel like having to somehow devise a retcon as to why the longsword once held by the Warden and Ariane is now all of a sudden a greatsword...
