Any rumors(official or unofficial) about the first string of DLC for DA2?  Cause like most of you i have gone through with both male and female and with every class in the game.  I want more.  This game was a lot shorter than DAO but i guess it had to be when you factor in the size and the scope of the games.  Kirkwall   VS  Ferelden  lol  oh well.  But seriously where is my DLC.  I want hints, teasers, and hopefully cookies.  Everyone loves cookies.  Thoughts  go!

Its a pretty safe bet that there will be new outfits DLC, at least 2 different ones, and presents to gain friend/rival. But as far as new adventures, no one outside of Bioware knows for sure. There is space for one more person on the select your party screen so expect another Sabastion type character DLC. If we are lucky it will be a Shale type that can fill many roles instead of a duplicate skill set (Varric/Sabastion).

On top of revealing just how substantial future content for Dragon Age 2 will be, Laidlaw also confirmed that DLC will very much be centered on the story of Hawke. Though gamers will, of course, be encountering new characters and enemies, they will be doing so in DLC that feels like an extension of the main game.

....I'm just thinking out loud here....but was DA2 designed to cost us 60-65 dollars and then they nickle and dime us with DLC expanding the story until they're done with us?

I love the ME2 story-based DLC, but ME2 felt like a finished game, it's ending felt final. This ending felt....unfinished. It was a huge tease, like the game was an origin for DA3.

So giving us Hawke expansions in mircopayments without having finished a story in DA2 feels....yeah, like they're nickle and dimeing us.

But they did finish the story. Just because they didn't tell you the next story doesn't mean they didn't finish the first one. Were questions left unanswered? Yes. But that gets you thinking, talking, speculating. It's a good thing. :)

But nothing was resolved at the end of the game. There was nothing about that ending that felt like an ending. It wasn't a cliffhanger, either. It just ended after you took down two characters that had less screen time or depth than the Arishok.

It's actually similar to the Sopranos series finale. Just ending and going to credits isn't the only thing an ending has. There has to be a sense of closure that the characters did something. I didn't feel like Hawke did anything.

Except kill a few minor characters and then run off without saying a word.

The Soprano's ending, while admittedly infuriating, was supposed to leave you guessing. That is what I got from this ending as well. Where I really agree with you is on the Meredith/Orsino point. They were not developed. At. All. Why were we supposed to care about either of them? I honestly thought the Arishok battle was the endgame in my first playthrough. The Arishok was a compelling character and the conflict with him was well developed. Meredith and Orsino just showed up at the end, said some ****y stuff and we had to fight them. Even if we sided with them. I hate how I had to side with the mages and then kill their leader for being a royal ******. I could see him turning to demons if I had sided with Meredith. But siding with him AND him turning into a megabomination made NO SENSE.

I wouldn't mind an awakening type expansion

Just saying about the Sopranos, I think the point was that sense of anticipation that something bad was going to happen was how Tony's life will always be. He'll always look at crowds, strangers, with suspicion. And when one of them actually is a hitman he won't see the ending coming.

I think that was the intent, anyway. It was still a cheap ending. For example Godfather 2 had a similar ending with Michael but they handled it perfectly.

It would be nice to get away from Kirkwall, even though i enjoyed my time there. I'd really like them to base the DLC content on board Isabela's ship. I romanced Isabela but i'm sure there would be a way to set up a storyline where where you team back up even if you don't.Then you could sail to various new locations down the sword coast, whilst fending off pirates attacking you in the same way thugs/gangs do before disembarkign and exploring the various locations. The sea breeze in my hair would be good.

I'm sure the existence of the Vigilance models in the game files (both 1h and 2h) that aren't used hint at a DLC centered around them.
Of course I'm using them now because PCs are awesome and all. Mahaha.

Been happening since Mehrunes' Razor in Oblivion. Pretty blatant really.
In DA2 every promo item is in the game files whether you "earn" it or not, even the Dead Space armour. <_<

Unfortunately, there's ME2's Arrival now so it'll probably be at least a couple of weeks until new DA2 DLC is mentioned.

The way I see it... the climax of the game is the Arishok duel(and that should really have been more epic)... actIII is more like a set-up for DAIII :(

A dev said that "Sebastian's story is not finished yet", so I'm betting on a DLC about him and probably Starkhaven

I hope it'll be consistent with the Vigilance sword you chose in Awakening. I don't feel like having to somehow devise a retcon as to why the longsword once held by the Warden and Ariane is now all of a sudden a greatsword...
