Having just finnished my first play through I was really annoyed that I didn't see an option to take Anders with me to protect the mages (You need all the help you can get when dealing with templars, right? And shouldn't he help solve the mess he made?) and after winning punnishing him (like Aveline promises when you decide to keep him). Cause playing as a mage sympathizer, it doesn't really make sence to kill him straight off but when you win shouldn't he pay for all the mages (and everyone else) who died because of him?

So I was wondering if this indeed is the case (as i suspect) or did  I miss some opportunity to do just that?

I wonder about several of the plot twists (shifts or holes) in DA 2. A lot of 'crimes' seem to go unpunished and ignored.

I wasn't fond of Anders enough to take him along very often. I did wonder why Anders destroyed the Chantry when he seemed to turn his opinion around on the Grand Cleric after Dissent (Sir Alric and the Tranquil Solution).

As far as I coul tell, Anders was never a targetable "ally". He was with me but not a chosen party member so was on auto-pilot in a corner. I never helped him when he was under attack but he didn't do me the favor of dying. I never saw a chance to make a choice that would allow me to kill him after the war started.

Anders become worst than tranquil mage.
He lost his ability to reason, but he kept his magic.

The sooner you put him out of his misery, the better.
