Didn't see this thread anywhere yet, but I imagine this isn't the first time it's been posted.

By now I reckon everyone on this forum has played both DA:O+add-ons, as well as DA2 several times. However, I'm quite certain there is one playthrough you consider the 'main', the 'This is what happened' playthrough.

For me, it's the following:

DA:O
- Female Elven Arcane Warrior Mage, 'light side'
- Recruited and friended everyone
- Romanced Leliana
- Hardened both Leliana and Alistair
- Sided with the Mages
- Sided with Harrowmont
- Lifted the Curse for the Werewolves
- Had Anora and Alistair marry
- Conscripted Loghain
- Rejected Morrigan's Offer
- Have Loghain redeem himself by sacrificing his life by killing the Archdemon

DA:A
- Imported DA:O character, stayed Light Side
- Recruited and friended everyone
- Fully upgraded Keep
- Saved Amarenthine
- Rejected the Architects offer

DA2
- Male Warrior Hawke, stick-in-the-mud 'Diplomatic/ Helpful' personality
- Recruited and friended everyone
- Bethany joined the Grey Wardens
- Isabela returned
- Romanced Merrill, and nobody else
- Sided with the Mages
- Saved Anders (most of the times...sometimes, I do belief he deserves to die)

So, what are yours? Feel free to expand or what not :)

Ahh, I'll bite :) This seems fun. I'll use the playthrough I imported into DA2 as canon, for now, since I can't decide which of my last 2 Origins playthroughs I can consider canon (incidentally, my last playthrough is nearly the complete opposite of this one).

Origins:
-Female Human Noble Rogue, I'd consider her a "do-gooder" :-)
-Romanced Alistair, did not harden either him or Leliana
-Sided with Mages & Bhelen
-Broke werewolf curse
-Went into the fade and rescued Connor
-Anora sole queen, killed Loghain at the Landsmeet
-Alistair underwent the Dark Ritual with Morrigan
-Sided with Caridin at the Anvil, killed Branka
-My Warden & Alistair went off to rebuild the Gray Wardens

Awakenings:
-Started an Orlesian Warden, male elven mage
-Fully upgraded keep
-Saved Vigil's Keep and let Amaranthine burn
-Rejected Architect's offer

DA2
-Female Rogue (Archer) Hawke, sarcastic & doesn't take things too seriously unless she has to
-Bethany taken away to the Circle
-Sided with mages
-Romanced Anders & ran away with him

Origins:
-Female human noble rogue; duty focused and definite do-gooder
-Recruited and befriended just about everyone (even managed to get on decent terms with Morrigan)
-Romanced Alistair, hardened him (hated that conversation, though; I prefer to pretend that she said something different to reach that point)
-Sided with Bhelen and destroyed the Anvil
-Removed the curse from the werewolves
-Killed Connor, but saved the mages
-Spared Avernus but warned him off of the human experiments
-Broke things off with Alistair pre-Landsmeet and got him to marry Anora (good of the realm > personal feelings)
-Recruited Loghain and had him take the killing blow against the Archdemon
-Refused the Dark Ritual
-Went off to rebuild the Wardens (given the issues between her and Alistair, she thought it best to remove herself completely from the situation at court)

Awakenings:
-Imported from Origins
-Fully upgraded the keep
-Saved Amaranthine
-Nathaniel, Anders and Justice survived. Of the rest, I either didn't fully friend them and they died in the Keep (aside maybe from Oghren; I seem to recall that he survived somehow), or else they were Sigrun and disappeared in the Deep Roads (fully friended, but her personal quest bugged out so I couldn't entirely save her). Tragic!
-Rejected the Architect

I've never gotten around to doing GoA or Witch Hunt; not sure if either make a difference in DA2, anyway.

DA2
-Female rogue (I just love rogues); do-gooder with a sarcastic streak
-Bethany goes to the Circle
-Sided with the mages
-Lost Isabella (absolutely refused to allow her to keep the relic, so she ran. We weren't on the best of terms, anyway)
-Killed Fenris (a shame; we were almost friends but not quite there. Seemed fitting and poignant, so I wasn't too upset)
-Romanced Anders and ran away with him (I really, really hope for a DLC or something in the next game that will give an indication of the consequences of his survival. It seems too important a plot point to drop completely, and yet with so many people stabbing him, will Bioware consider it worth the resources to explore?)

I've only done one DA2 playthrough so far, but given my intense love of rogues and fascination with Anders, this is likely to be my canon run - or at least the first import I take into whatever comes next.

Origins:
-Male Human Noble Warrior "The guy who gets things done"
-Romanced Morrigan
- Sided with Dalish, Zathrian sacrificed himself.
- Harrowmont is king, Caradin commited suicide after destroying the Anvil
- Killed Kolgrim. Bastard looked at me wrong.
- Sided with the Mages. Irving is a champ.
- Morrigan entered the fade to save Connor. Got it done like a champ. The Circle helped.
- Leliana & Alistair were hardened.
- Alistair married Anora and Loghain dueled and died to me. He wouldn't duel the dog :(
- I did the dark pact w/ Morrigan and made the killing blow on the Arch Demon.
- Since Irving helped, I asked if the Circle could manage it'self while it rebuilds.
- Was generally a nice guy, Zev & Leliana still wanted to travel around
- Shale and Wynne were off to Tevinter
- Oghren was getting drunk
- Sten was off back to report to the Arishok.

Awakening:
- Imported the Warrior.
- Fully upgraded the Keep.
- Had the soldiers attempting to defend both the farms and the trade routes.
- Nathaniel and I were best pals. None of the companions ran off in epilogue.
- Killed both the Architect and the Queen.

Golems of Argh
- Completed.

Witchhunt:
- Completed
- Morrigan and the Hero went through the Eluvian together to prepare their son.

DA 2
- Female Rogue, Generally Sarcastic (Why does trouble always find her?)
- Bethany became a Grey Warden, instead of following she's becoming something new.
- Sided with the Mages. I'm sorry but I won't condemn every living mage out of fear.
- Merrill destroyed the Mirror and stayed with her love.
- Aveline is probably off having babies
- Isabela is probably sporting even more STD's
- Anders is worm food. Sebastian is all happy about it I'm sure.
- Fenris is the man he's made himself to be. Hope he's less broody.
- I wish Varric could have been the Romance. But at least he can tell my stories...

Sure, why not. It looks like for both games my canon playthrough is going to be the second one. In each case I went through the game the first time being more or less a nice guy. Then I played through again as a bit of a jerk, killing NPCs etc. and had a lot more fun. Haven't actually finished the last third of so of my canon DA2 playthrough, but I've got it all planned out. May end up just taking both nice/sarcastic Hawke and hardass Hawke through DLC and such for more options in DA3 imports.

Origins:
-Male City Elf Rogue. General dislike for humans, believed ends justify means.
-Killed Bann Vaughan
-Romanced both Morrigan and Leliana, stuck with Leliana
-Hardened both Alistair and Leliana
-Killed Conor
-Did not taint ashes
-Saved the Circle
-Sided with Bhelen
-Sided with Branka at first, then turned on her and destroyed Anvil of the Void
-Sided with elves, killed Lady of the Forest & werewolves
-Killed slavers in the alienage
-Convinced Alistair and Anora to marry
-Dueled & killed Loghain
-Accepted Morrigan's offer
-Completed all companion quests, all companions stayed to the end

Awakening
-Fully upgraded keep
-Quelled peasant rebellion with intimidation (I think)
-Defended farms, trade routes, and city (bit of a stupid option, being better than all the rest)
-Saved Amaranthine
-Rejected Architect's offer
-Justice "died" defending keep, everyone else survived.

Origins DLC
-Let Avernus continue research
-Cremated Cailian's body
-Defeated Harvester
-Let Morrigan leave through Eluvian alone

DA2
-Male Warrior Hawke. Demanding, severe, adheres to personal honor code with no regard for laws.
-Bethany joined Grey Wardens
-Sent Feynriel to Circle, then made him tranquil
-Killed Javaris. "He bothered me."
-Rival-manced Merrill, didn't sleep with/romance anyone else
-Friends with Isabela and Fenris (and Bethany), rivals with all others
-Isabela returned
-Gained respect of Arishok, defeated him in duel
-Completed all companion quests (according to relationship, refused to distract Elthina etc.)
-Sided with Templars
-Killed Anders, everyone else stayed to the end

Don't say that!  It worries me.  I will be so disappointed if we don't see him again!

Wow, pleasently surprised I got any reactions at all!

On Anders: considering the guy is a spirit-abomination, it's not impossible to have Justice/Vengeance as a catalyst for his survival. After all, Wynne was kept alive by the Spirit of Soapboxing.

DA:O - Kylan Amell - Mage

The good-hearted blood mage...:D

Helped Jowan escape - has no regret

Got Zathrian to reverse the curse

Made Behlen king (He promised the troops, unlike Harrowmont)

Traveled aaalllll the way to the blighted Circle Tower to save Connor

Made friends with everyone (even Loghain)

Romanced Zevran

Persuaded Anora and Alistair to rule together

Spared Loghain

Acquiesced
to Morrigan's ritual - poor Loghain

DA:O - Awakening

Finds Anders HILARIOUS

Let Nathaniel go, allowed him to join the Wardens when he returned

Oghren...*sigh* Schleets aren't real!

Valenna disappeared under a bunch of rubble (good riddance)

Sigrun lead the charge

Curious about Justice

Spared the Architect (DA2 reaction: ...*facepalm*)

DA2 - Aris Hawke - Apostate

The charming, sarcastic Force/Healer Mage who knows when to crack the whip (no
offense, Fenris)

Love/hate with Carver - he joined the Wardens

Befriended Anders immediately and didn't waste time in initiating a
relationship

Likes Fenris, but tries to keep him away from anything to do with mages - don't
want to start WW3, do we? (That's Anders's job. XD )

Adores Varric like the funny uncle she never had

Sees Aveline as a big sister

Isabela is pretty much her best friend; she returned the book :)

Merrill...okay, honey, THIS is what happens when you mess with demons.
PEOPLE DIE. (Plus, constantly slitting your wrists can't be healthy.)

Sebastian needs to go be the prince he's meant to be, and stop hiding behind
his "precious" Maker

Aris supports the mages - but she HATES Blood Mages; she sees it a mark of weak
will and cowardice turn to Blood Magic (No, she doesn't consider any other
motive.)

Dueled the Arishok to keep Isabela...a lot of running around...

Sided with the mages

Spared Anders, and ran away with him <3 <3<3<3(OMG Bioware,
please let there be a DLC with him!!!)

I've played through a lot of differing perspectives, but my two 'canon' plays are

Katherine - Grey Warden Commander in DA:O and DA:A
- Female Elf Circle Mage, very anti-blood magic and anti-abomination
- Worked with the First Enchanter to catch Jowan, subsequently sent him back to the Templars at Redcliffe
- Recruited and kept all companions
- Romanced Zevran, thought of Alistair as a brother in arms, hardened him
- Never figured out Wynne was an abomination, or she'd be dead too
- Sided with the Templars at the Circle (big event for her) and therefore had to kill that little boy abomination so his mother wouldn't live with the image forever, because blood magic was out of the question
- Lifted the Curse, but did not kill the Elves other than the leader
- Sided with Bhelen on Zevran's advice
- Let Loghain live and join the Wardens, thought Alistair was an ASS for not telling her he was royalty before they'd done all that treaty work together (never took him with into Lothering at first)
- Had Alistair marry Anora
- Refused Morrigan's offer and intended to die to the Archdemon personally but Loghain convinced her he deserved the honor of redemption over time
- Destroyed the Blood power potion for Wardens and killed the old mage guy

DA:A
- Recruited and friended all, never had anything against Nathaniel anyway, just his idiot father
- Did NOT let the dalish elf mage become a Warden for the wrong reasons
- Took Anders because we were low on Wardens, not out of sympathy
- Didn't want corpse Justice wandering around unsupervised
- Fully upgraded the Keep (everyone survived, though the dalish mage disappeared)
- Killed the Architect and anything else with a taint that walked by
- Saved Amaranthine

DA2
Integra - Champion of Kirkwall
- Female Warrior, two handed sword style, very anti-blood magic very anti-abomination
- Recruited and Friended all available
- Romanced Fenris
- Bethany died in the Deep Roads
- Isabella ran off like the **** she is
- Sided with the Templars, consistently throughout the game
- Will either kill Anders or make him see the light (not there yet)
- Merrill too, that mirror is nothing but trouble!

These are just my two 'canon' people though - I've played a mage who loved Anders and went renegade with him and a Warden who believed that all magic had potential good (Dalish) if applied properly and was happy to work with grey areas if they served a purpose and a few in between characters too.

DA: Rochesa - actually I don't consider her "main" - she's just my only Warden with personality - haven't got time to play Origins more to make a real "main", and now I'm too bored of it, to do it anyway.

-Female dalish elf warrior, once arrogant and free-spirited, after Tamlen's dead, she became unfeeling and cold, much like Tranquil - being a Grey Warden she perceived as duty, and made it her new purpose. Warmed herself up after a time, at least towards friends.
-Recruited all companions
-Became good friends with Zevran, Sten and Leliana
-Hardened everyone hardenable
-Romanced Alistair - felt companionship to him because of Duncan, and his humorous approach made her curious
-Lifted Werwolf Curse
-Sided with Bhelen - she has not even the slightest idea of politics, but she respects strength
-Sided with Caridan - kept her promise and destroyed Anvil
-Killed slaver of Tervinter - didn't even negotiate
-Made Anora queen and killed Loghain - she perceived Loghain as a threat, and didn't get along with Anora, but she understood, that she had an experience in ruling, and she was good in her job
-Accepted Morrigan's offer

DA2: Alise - second playthrought, very enjoyable

-Female Rogue, shadow/assasin, adorable and humourous/sarcastic, usually reasonable but selfish and a bit manipulative - trustworthy if it's convienient, at least that's if she don't care about a person
-Recruited everyone - befriended everyone except Merril, who'll she refuse to help fix the mirror
-Send Feyneriel to Dalish, gathered as much information she could from demon, so she didn't have to convince him to go to the Tevinter (heh, my first Hawke was all about "NO talk with demons!!!" so he didn't even know he should be gentle... not like he ever was)
-Bethany in the Circle
-Bartrand in sanatorium
-Gave Tome to Isabela
-Isabela stayed(yes, she did that crazy fight with Arishok - and wasn't all happy about whole affair after)
-Sided with Mages mostly because of her sister - Fenris stayed
-Romanced Anders.. and run off with him, which wasn't reasonable at all (Or maybe not? Can't decide, I think she would be scared of him, but I don't think she would want to leave him... Oh well, I guess it stays this way, then - everyone can do a stupid thing that can possibly lead to death, once in the while)

I actually have two canon playthrough from Origins, a Tabris and a Cousland, but had to redo some Awakening choices for my Cousland and haven't gotten around to finishing it. So only my Tabris ---> M!Hawke playthroughs are complete.

DA:O
<----- Nela Tabris - Rogue = Chaotic Nuetral.
A pragmatic, blunt, and angry shem hater. She softens over the game thanks to companion friendships, but is still wary of humans she doesn't know.
- Recruited and friended everyone
- Romanced Alistair, freaked out over loving a human, ran to Zevran and stayed with him
- Hardened both Leliana and Alistair
- Lifted the Curse for the Werewolves
- Sided with the Mages
- Sided with Bhelen on Zevran's advice
- Sided with Caridan and destroyed Anvil
- Made Irving save Connor, but was sorely tempted to sacrifice Isolde
- Didn't taint Andraste's ashes, but thought Brother Genitivi was an idiot for revealing them to the world
- Killed the slavers in the Alienage
- Had Anora and Alistair marry
- Dueled and executed Loghain
- Accepted Morrigan's Offer

DA:A
- Imported DA:O character
- Recruited and friended everyone
- Fully upgraded Keep
- Saved Amarenthine
- Killed Architect

Golems
-Completed

Witch Hunt
- Was sad to watch her sister walk to the Eluvian forever

DA2
- Male Mage Hawke = Ruthless Jerkass (with a Hidden Heart Of Gold) - True Neutral and  just wants to be left alone.
- Recruited everyone. Rivalry with Carver, Sebastian, and Merrill. Friendship with everyone else.
- Carver died in Deep Roads
- Sent Feynriel to Dalish, and then to Tevinter
- Spared all mages he could unless they were stupid and/or dangerous
- Killed Gascard du Puis
- Romanced Merrill
- Isabela returned
- Gained respect of Arishok, defeated him in duel
- Completed all companion quests (refused to distract Elthina, killed Castillon, etc.)
- Sided with the Mages
- Killed Anders
- Fenris initially sided with the Templars, but re-joined for the final showdown.
- Ran off with everyone and was heartbroken as they had to leave him
- Currently in an undisclosed location with Merrill and possibly the Warden and Zevran.

My canon is always my first playthrough. I avoid spoilers before I've played the game through that first time, so every decision is high-stakes--I don't *know* how it's going to come out. This means that my canon games include some sub-optimal decisions. But it just feels more "real" that way.

I think of my DA:O game as "Elissa Cousland loved and lost." She was going to be Queen of Ferelden! But she couldn't stomach Morrigan's offer, so instead she prepared to sacrifice herself against the archdemon...except that Alistair didn't give her a choice. Utterly heartbroken after his death, she turned cold and ruthless, and anybody who calls her "The Hero of Ferelden" gets a snarled "That's Alistair" in response. She saved Amaranthine because she thought that's what Alistair would have wanted; but she failed to fully upgrade the Keep, and she spared the Architect using the cold moral calculus that if he succeeded in his plans it would be worth the lives lost. About the only people whose company she can stand are Sigrun (whose death wish she shares), Justice (she holds her own dead so close that a walking corpse doesn't hold any horror for her), and, surprisingly, Nathanial Howe. She did seek out Morrigan because she wanted to apologize, to tell her that she wishes every moment of every day that she'd made a different choice that night--but Morrigan was angry too, and they mostly ended up talking past each other before Morrigan left through the mirror.

My DA2 playthrough is "Marian Hawke set fire to the world." Her only goal was protecting her family, but she lost each of them one by one (her father to the Blight, Carver to the ogre, Bethany to the templars, Leandra to blood magic). In the end she had only her lover Anders, and though she could see him slipping away too, she didn't care anymore--he was all she had left, and she would have done literally anything in her power to save him. She was horrified by his actions, and secretly she despaired that Anders was already gone and only Vengeance remained, but she simply could not let him go. The one bright spot for my Hawke in the end is that she was reunited with her sister: if anyone can pull her out of Anders' spiraling whirlpool of destruction it'll be Bethany. Otherwise she's off with Anders to drown the world in blood.

Did anyone else play a LEGACY MAGE?

That is, a mage!Hawke who was related to the mage!Warden, who both fought for the freedom of mages? Oh man, it's so epic. My canon Dragon Age is a legacy of giant middle fingers to the Chantry.

My first play throughs are always near and dear, but they are also where I bumble because sometimes the game just doesn't want to work WITH me dammit! (Also, conversation wheel misleads me and I hate doing the "we're doing that again" multi-save on first play)

My first DAO was an elven mage as well, but she spared Jowan was kind to kittens and flowers and got her heart ripped out and stomped on in front of all her friends by the man she thought loved her, then got eaten by the Archdemon... So... yeah. My first Hawke did considerably better, being a jaunty rouge type who balanced helping either side when it seemed right and profitable and telling them to go shove it when they were trying to use her. Sadly, Anders used her worse than any of them ever could and having a hand in the destruction of the Chantry - however unknowingly - led her to side with the Templars and then kill Meredith when she went completely off the deep end when she refused to kill her own sister - good thing she had Fenris by her side through it all.

I might have to give DA:O another shot in order to try this.  Sounds fun!
