the UK sales chart is up now (UK basically represent Europe-sales) so if we go by this list we can pretty much see how it sold in europe and basically its usually similiar in America. but look!
FYI the xbox360-version in europe sold like 100k at the first week... not good pc-sales at all in Europe atleast, dont know what it sold in America, but clearly DAO for pc, which isnt even in the top 30 is not going well in Europe.

1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 / Xbox 360 / Activision (ny)

2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 / PS3 / Activision (ny)

3. Wii Sports Resort / Wii / Nintendo (2)

the game is clearly not selling as well as we hoped, but the console might have saved the day.
or would DAO been a smash hit not even reaching top 20-30 in europe on the pc?
bioware are lucky they made a console-version, pc-owners should be happy that the port was made.

Non ported pc games last way more (in terms of hours played) than nonported console games.. that's the sole reason why consoles sell more.

mayby you're angry seeing the truth, im not trolling or anything,. just saying that the pc_version in europe isnt even in top 30, that doesnt bother you a bit?
okay, nice that you care.
mayby some pc-owners atleast can be happy that the game atleast sold thanks to the console, and hopefully ps3 owners actually pay for their game... because I doubt pc-owners "missed out" on DAO, I suspect piracy.
And even if you claim console owners do piracy, atleast theire is a chunck of gamers who paid for it.

You do realize that every single game above DA:O is either a FPS, sports game, or portable/Wii game? All genres that ALLWAYS crush RPGs in early sales. The fact is, RPGs never have very high "release day" sales. Unlike first person shooters however, they tend to KEEP selling. And comparing DA:O to MW2 is a bit... unfair.

I would say profit is clearly the motivation for releasing a game on all consoles, consoles being more accessable for the average consumer and all, and console games generally sell more units. But I think DA:O is selling right where Bioware/EA hoped it would. I doubt they thought to overtake Uncharted 2 and Modern Warfare 2 on the sales chart, especially in the first few months.

Lol, just because you can quote stats doesn't mean they actually mean anything. For 2 weeks up until it's release and for 2 months previous DA was in the top 5 on Steam's Top Sellers. And on release it jumped to Number 1 for like 5 days.

I wouldn't believe some dodgy internet stats. The fact is, Dragon Age sold well on the PC, and received GLOWING reviews.

I'm pleased the console users got the ****ty end for once, not very nice to get a dodgy port is it?

Kinda funny that because the port is weak as hell, its almost insulting as a console gamer

Actually not so funny when I think about it

You aren't giving any citations.  Where did you get your figures?  VGchartz (LOL)?

You superimpose UK figures onto the rest of the world.

You only have the 360 figure, from a list that doesn't even state the units sold.

So far a lackluster thread you've made here.

Nope, just curious as to why it matters...

As others have said, RPGs never release to the same hype as other titles; they have a slow-burn and continue to be played, loved, and usually purchased for years. They also keep getting marketed due to expansions, new editions, etc. It is pretty much a given that down the road there will be a new edition with every bit of DLC included, which will sell more copies, something a sports game, for example, never does.

2-diffrent kind of games, I have the pc-version and the 360.
Pc-is much like BG which req pause frequently, console is more like KOTOR both are fun to play on.
I dont get angry while playing on the pc, and the flow of the combat is better, however, on the pc I have full control, while on console it feels more like the A.I is "alive" on their own.

And....what's the point you're trying to make?  Console games always sell more...they sell more today than PC games ever did at their peak of popularity (which is right now, by the way).  There are more consoles out there...partially because a lot of people don't understand how to spec a PC that can play games and don't want to deal with it, partially because some people just want the simplest possible solution, and partially because a lot of anti-PC folks out there spread a lot of FUD that scares people away from PC gaming (spreading innacurate information like "it's more expensive," "it's too complicated," "everyone always has problems," "you have to sit at a desk and use a keyboard," etc., etc.).

I would be floored if PC sales were anywhere close to console sales.  So, again, what's your point?

Seeing as how you're benchmarking the game against super-casual Wii games and CoD:MW2, and the site does not provide a quantative figure on the sales, no conclusion can be made on the fiscal success of this game.

Perhaps you need to increase your analytic skills?
