dont read others threads if you get so angry easily. jeez, some people behind the pc are so cranky, wish they would be that irl also.

Please refrain from being so oversensitive and overdramatic, thank you. Image IPB

yes because clearly you're not angry over these news at all.

I'm just a little puzzled about what your point is here.  Are you trying to say that there are a lot more console gamers out there than PC gamers?  If that's what you're trying to say...eh...we all kinda already know that.  ;)

I just checked the charts at that exact website and the PC version of DA:O is #3 in the UK.

WTF are you talking about.

yes, for the "PC" market.
im talking about the total. time to wake up perhaps?

Seeing as how you're benchmarking the game against super-casual Wii games and CoD:MW2, and the site does not provide a quantative figure on the sales, no conclusion can be made on the fiscal success of this game.

ofc it can, if vgchartz says that the european version sold 100k+-ish on the first week, and after 2, the 360 version is falling down on the list, but yet far above the pc, it should tell you something.
and remember UK is the biggest market in Europe.

and im very puzzled on what you try to imply here, obviously there is more pc's out there then consoles, however, how many of these pc's can play newly games? well its probably way lower then the console market.
My point wasnt, wow the console is a smash hit!!!,cause its not, but to see it falling already, and 360-version selling way more, well it just shows two things,  however If I speak the truth some people will get PMS again.

Perhaps you need to sharpen your analytic skills?

Now that you've mentioned VGchartz as a source, dock points in credibility.

Now you're comparing the EU sales figure to a UK chart (admitting that the UK market is larger) showing that DA:O is doing one step worse than Uncharted 2, and the only data given is that it's a 360 figure.

You really have no idea where you are going with this eh?

If it sold 100k on the smallest market for the PC (between EU, UK, and US), and it's even showing up on a top 20 list filled with super casual Wii games for the UK market, it's safe to say that the sales figures are quite healthy for a CRPG.

Logically, if you say that the smallest figure on the smallest market is 100k, the figures for the larger markets will be significantly higher.

So you just decided you'd start a thread to state the obvious point that there are more console gamers than PC gamers, then?  Why don't you just say what you mean?

Lol.  Never mind.  :P

Ok, I see through your thinly-veiled attempt to make an anti-PC gaming statement.  I couldn't care less, as I own several gaming PCs and several consoles.  I'm not going to be lured into your attempt to start a platform war.  Have a nice day.  :D

I trust vgchartz and track chart way more then some user I never spoken to before atleast.
or do you think they have an angenda?
I hope the pc-version sold, its still BS, that a game great as DAO, is dropping already and selling worse then crappy games like " lego batman ( I know the last lego game sold like 2-3 million copies, but still)

Im not defending the console-version with my post, its just that I think I understand why EA choosed a port, wasnt "greed" it was necessary.

I didnt make the thread to state something obvious, in fact I had hoped DAO on the 360 would atleast be in the top 10, wouldnt you guys?

PC game sales are low because PC game piracy is high.

Not when you are benchmarking the game against BUNDLE games (ie Pure and Batman lego) and super casual Wii games (ie Wii Fit, Wii Sports, etc).

The fact of the matter is that you have no true idea as to how successful the game was.

With the figures you've given the only conclusion we can come to is that the game definitely sold more than 100k units.

the UK sales chart is up now (UK basically represent Europe-sales) so if we go by this list we can pretty much see how it sold in europe and basically its usually similiar in America. but look!

not true.
Germany is the biggest market for all games on all platforms in Europe. And Modern Warfare2 for example had a very weak start sale here.

By the way, Dragon Age is doing very well. Here is a PC-only chart:
http://www.chart-tra...t.jsp&ct=110022

Also Dragon Age has to compete with Wii Sports games and.. seriously, stuff like Football manager 2010 and Lego Batman. Last year one of the most sold games in germany was some kind of low budget trucking simulation. I mean come on, you may draw your own conclusions. I will not comment on the mentality of the average video game consumer of our times here. It will just make me sad.

Sales may be lower, but game quality is so much higher it cannot really be measured in a number chart.

And I care, like, not at all. The PC can do a heck of a lot more than just play PC games, unlike the Xbox. I like being able to do multpile stuff at the same time without needing to get 10 different things like a DVD, TV, Console...

Oh and they`re a lot cheaper on PC.

1. That chart, like all others, doesn't include digital download sales, which is where more and more PC game sales are coming from.

2. Who cares? The PC version is, by far, the best version of this game.

If you are seriously going to expect sales of an RPG to match sales of games like Wii Fit and Modern Warfare 2, well, you are clueless.

Yet the only part of a PC that is actually purchased for gaming is the video card, and I have a 4 (going on 5) year old video card in one of my PCs that runs all modern games as well as my 360 does, and newer cards under $80 spank that card handily, so...yeah..."man."  Not to mention that I get most PC games for $20-$40 each and don't have to buy overpriced proprietary accessories.

wow this site can't have one single decent conversation without it turning into a personal flame feast about who's right/wrong as this topic has any point to it

ugh anyways I think his "point" was to prove evidence to all the pc players who seemingly question as to why there was a console version in the first place, I mean considering how much complaining there was in the past I can understand what he meant.

but whatever

OP is saying the console version is selling decently, and better than the PC version in that region) and is helping the overall sales of the game and is happy about it.

You're so very wrong.
and pretty ignorant,too.

Germany is an even bigger market for games than the UK, and to say the UK charts would represent the ones in Germany is insulting.
Not to speak of other countries in Europe.
