Who here thinks Mordin Solus or Thane Krios will not be in Mass Effect 3? Mordin Solus is very old for a Salarian, and Thane Krios has a serious disease. Neither of them being in Mass Effect 3, even when you have them alive at the end of Mass Effect 2, wouldn't surprise me. I would like to have both, but considering their... health or potential health issues, this is a possible situation.

Mordin will because he's a fan favorite, but nobody likes Thane so he'll probably crawl off and die somewhere off camera.

I doubt they'll be dead within the year. Honestly, it'll be something that comes up in/near the end of the game if at all.

If more than 6 months to a year passes between the events in ME2 and ME3 I doubt that Thane will be in ME3. Didn't the doctors give him something like a year to live? Mordin, on the other hand, will probably be back and that's a good thing.

Thane has a higher chance of showing up simply because he is a romance option. Unless literally no one romanced him, I'm sure he'll be there.

Mordin Solus is by far the most popular new squadmate for ME2, I am pretty certain he will be reurning for ME3 ( and not just because I heard a rumour that the VA for Mordin said he was working on ME3 ). The big question is will Mordin be a Squad mate in ME3? As much as I like Mordin I can't say I ever used him as Squad mate in ME2 ( with the exception of his Loyalty mission ), there was always someone else who I wanted to bring with me on missions. He just wasn't that good at kicking ass.

As for Thane, I liked Thane so I would like it if he came back as a Squad Mate in ME3 but is future role in ME3 is a lot less certain given that he only has months to live in ME2. The only thing he has going for him is that he was an LI in ME2 and alot of people who romanced him in ME2 will want to continue where they left off for ME3.

I mean I'm a fan of your posts, Marsh, but this particular comment of yours is baseless at best.

Disagree. He's awesome at stripping armor on insanity, very useful squaddie to have with an adept Shepard.

I knew it was over the line when I posted it. Funny macro though, thanks for that. :D

I think it's possible that ME3 will take place over a decade like DA2. In that case we can see Thane in the beginning of the game and after a while he just dies and you move on.

This is true, but Thane's Warp is nearly as good AND Thane uses a Sniper rifle, which are murder-sticks in the hands of your squadmates.

Or you can just play an infiltrator with warp ammo and not worry about any of the special protections and pick who you like.

meh AP ammo is pretty much better on everything. infiltrator class rules though

i hope mordin is in, though there are several conceivable avenues to write out pretty much all the squadmates easily, in addition to SM death: mordin - age, thane - health, jack - apathy etc etc.

p.s. can't believe marshalleck posted such blatant troll-bait - and didn't take long before getting called, either. :P

They'll find a cure for Thane, and a robot body for Mordin :)

Fair point. Mordin's not useless as a combat squadmate but I still stand by my original arguement that ( for me at least ) there are always other squadmates that I would pick for missions before I would concider him. Maybe it's because my Shepard is usually a soldier and Miranda never really leaves my party, the 3rd squad mate slot usually goes to one of the following; 1. Garrus, 2. Grunt, 3. Samara, 4, Kasumi.

My guess is Mordin will be back as an unplayable NPC, he'll be like the head researcher or whatever of the Normandy(basically the same thing he does now except you just can't use him as a squadmate). Maybe we get some kind of bonus to our researches or something if we kept Mordin alive through ME2.

Thane is probably a goner. I don't see every single squadmate returning and Thane is easy to write off due to his sickness. It'd be cool if we had the option of recruiting some drell assassins to help us if Thane was alive and loyal through ME2.

I rarely took Mordin out as I thought he'd rather be in his sweet lab researching.

I can see Mordin taking a none cobat role in ME3, much like Joker. I do think Than will be dead, or pretty much on death's doorstep by time ME3 starts.

Suddenly there's a thud offscreen.

Garrus: What was that?

Shepard: Oh that was just Thane dying.  C'mon, let's move on.

Reminds me of how terrible the recent R.A. Salvatore novel was. Because that actually happens, pretty much. More than once, within the same book.

Honestly I would be surprised if Thane was in ME3 and by that I mean as an active squad mate or reoccurring familiar npc. Thane's dying I'd like to visit him a few times in the hospital before he dies but that's it and if he acts all fine whenever you talk to him that would be unbelievable I'd imagine he'd break into a coughing fit at least once during stressful conversation tracks.

As far as Mordin he could take an npc role if his age is starting to impede his combat skills I think it's a to be determined situation maybe he fights halfway through ME3 then asks shep to be an on ship only hand. I'd be surprised if he wasn't in ME3

Kasumi she a thief and shouldn't have been included at all in 2 because of this she's not a soldier and really has no business fighting on a battlefield. Jack is another that shouldn't have been present how many in the military would actively recruit such a nutter? I don't like BWs policy of you must recruit or you must leave them I'd like to be able to either recruit them or not and find someone else to fil the spot.

There where too many biotics on the team when we hit the base I got why we needed so many but still that just made every team able to have one biotic and that was alittle of a stretch. I can see all teams having a soldier tank class but biotics too easy.

Anyways Legion if he was helping the geth and only radioed shep no loss, if Samara came back as npc her lines already hinted at this so not having her on my physical team wouldn't be such an issue for me I would take issue if she suddenly became a LI though it was great she turns you down.

Isnt' this basically what happens on the suicide mission everyone makes it to the doors falls over dead and oh well lets go. BW don't do this ever again!

I think that was more a question of pacing, beside, they did not exactly have time to mourn.

Er... Thane's a huge favourite of many ME fans as far as I've seen. Give the brother some love.
