Why attack David Gaider for DA2??

David Gaider is a bit more than 'just a writer' considering he imagined the whole DA universe pretty much.

I've seen far more of this committed by his attackers.
He himself, while firm in his beliefs, always struck me as classy, friendly and down to earth. (Based on his posts here)

Who also wrote the 2 Dragon Age books, which were actually very good, I guess you can't make gold all the time, writing the 2 books and Origins must have taken alot out of him, or he was just too pressed for time to really come up with a great DA2 story...it probably would have been easier for him to stay in Ferelden and come up with a story from that...hell, maybe even made a story about the first blight or something, take us back into time to a golden age or something, or even the war with Orlais...man, after I read the first book i wanted to be there for the uprising against Orlais.

No. Because there actually civil discussions happening there.
Don't blame him one bit.

I do not agree with all the game/writing decisions that BioWare makes by any means but in most cases people have made up their minds about a game or author well in advance of anything they put out there.

I actually agree with him on that one. BG2 streamlined BG is some of the same ways that ME2 did with ME.Haexpane wrote...

And in both cases, I think the sequel was the lesser game.

There have been civil discussions that have happened here, stop being ignorant...
Just because there have been alot of rants and raves doesn't mean this whole board should just be ignored, alot of wonderful points and counter points have been made and should at least be read through once.

Exactly. Plus, Bioware was known for their amazing stories in their games and DA II for many ppl (including me) didn't have (even) that. David Gaider is the lead writer, so 1+1=2.

Jealousy I'd say. I'm sure David is not too concerned. He's the lead writer for one of the most successful dialogue/rpg based game companies out there. He's a twice published author. It's fashionable to blast successes in this world.

This.
Some people simply equate their dislike of a product to a person whose name they know. Period. It isn't even logical. But then again, neither is baseless hatred and people do that too.
I like DA:O. I have my disappointments with DA2. And god forbid, I still like David Gaider's stuff because for some reason I didn't think he was the only person working on this game, alone in a darkened corner of the Bioware office while the whole rest of the team went out for happy hour each day...
I didn't get the memo that one disappointment had to completely eradicate all that was and is good from Bioware.
(Please don't forward that memo to me if you have a copy, thanks!)

A mod allows you to play as an elf if you play your games on the PC.

I blame whoever decided to rush and make Dragon Age into Mass Effect Medieval. And I know that wasn't Gaider.
