From the review, emphasis mine...

In Dragon Age II, you have to mash a button for each attack. This feels like more of an action game, which is an improvement. .

I stopped reading the review at this point.

Not only is that a bug, but the reviewer actually liked it???

So you claim that you want auto-attack? How about some support:

Don't let the issue slide under the radar.

And this will do nothing what-so-ever to speed up the process. They know the problem is there, they are working on the patch and wailing and moaning will not make them finish it any faster.

How exactly would you go about buying a bad review? And why?

It might make sense to pay the KKK good money to voice their displeasure with the game. People love to endorse things the KKK hates.

You've obviously found Dragon Age 2 enjoyable enough to have played it through more than once. Still you somehow claim that the game deserve review scores that are normally given the worst 25th percentile of all PC games.

Not necessarily fair.  Replayability for me is not a massive part of what makes a game great.  I only played the original dead space once (a game I'd give an 8) and I'm on my second play through of DA2 (a game I'd give a 6.5).  There's also the big stumbling block over the publics perception of review scores and the medias reaction to that.  There seems to be an impression that any game that gets below an 8 is not worth buying.  Unfortunatly this is true for critics of music, films and any other form of media too.

5/10 is generous - the only redeeming quality of this game is the voice acting, which is superb

I sure as heck had lots of ! and ? icons on my DAO map. :innocent:

And lots of NPCs tellling me where to go.

It's funny how people think everyone hates DA2 and feel awesome about themselves for everything bad said about DA2.

Even if you like this game there is no way in hell it is a 10 out of 10 game.

Even if you hate this game there is no way in hell it is a 5 out of 10 game.

You guys get so distracted with your delusions of what you   thought the game was supposed to be.

Anyone with a computer could've came here and read, clearly, their intent and direction of DA 2.

The review in question is negative, not objective. The many points are valid, but in comparison with other games being reviewed, a certain air of discontent was perdetermined.

The reviewer did not play the game many times, if once through. I can understand why though, he is very bad at RPGs. He complains about equipment being hard to discern, which it is not, thanks to the hand holding (albeit useless) star rating system. He describes how all encounters are easy spell spamming affairs. Did he play this game through on casual? I think so.

Five seems fine from a place that uses the full scale. The higher scores tend to come from places that hardly ever use the below 80 scale for anything from a known publisher.

In the past you have linked and promoted the same sort of review as this one, one where the writer has already claiming a previous title is better from the offset and is biased. Remember:

http://uk.xbox360.ig.../1150600p1.html

I'm sorry no reviewer has to play a game multiple times to review it anymore than he has to run through it on every single difficulty setting. Imho equipment wasn't hard to understand just pointless as most of them gave the same stats with different stars. Spell spamming I agree with him though with to certain extent depending on difficulty use anything less than using the hardest mode. You don't agree with his review, good for you.

I disagree. In a game where there are different possible  outcomes for you actions,  a review could only be best determined if one experiences them. I didn't see where the review displayed a proper view of the game, given had he played it in different ways.

You can't spell spam in 80% of the encounters on Nightmare. Nightmare, Hard, and Normal difficulties are there for your discretion. He felt he was simply spamming spells, but didn't mention trying to see if this was the case on harder difficulties.Regardless, most all RPGs have you spamming spells, so it's a moot point.

I find it hard to believe DA2 got a worse score than "Barbie Horse Adventure" for the Wii. Sure, DA2 is definitely not the best game ever made.... but a 5/10?  Give me a break.

Completely agree with them, but my biggest problem was immersion given the time jumps are gimmicky and it takes 7 years to romance your LI because of it (completely unrealistic).

Bioware has been dropping the ball. ME2 DLC that was put out today is bad that I can't even bring myself to finish it. I think the EA influence is now complete.

Arrival is bad? Say it ain't so!!! I've been so eager to get my greedy paws on that one after the greatness that was LOTSB! :(

It's no LOTSB by any stretch. I could say it's as bad as Pinnacle Station but nothing can be that bad.

Oh and Pinnacle Station wasn't really bad. It was bad because we had to pay for that. If it was free then I'd have had no issue with Pinnacle Station.

Ah, yes, but single handedly taking down a dragon with a piece of wood in your hand, THAT is realistic Image IPB

Do me a favor, its a fantasy game/world, not a damn thing in it is ever going to be realistic nor should it be.

That's the same score I gave this game.

2.5 / 5

5 / 10

It doesn't deserve anything higher than that.Altough it is completely unfathomable that someone actually likes to play this game without an auto-attack. Just mash that button one million times.

Probably the same kind of players I constantly meet in Street Fighter. Reversal DP FTW! ^_^

If auto-attack is why you dropped the score at all, then maybe those higher are playing on the PC or Mac which has auto-attack. Just FYI. I do find myself playing it on the PC more than console mainly because of that. I tried to play it on the console again just to get the achievements now that Exile was fixed but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Achievements aren't worth my finger. ;)

I did rank it higher on the PC over console because of auto-attack and the mod community's great work.

I'm glad I actually just imagine it being weeks instead of years. I don't care what the dialog says but the gameplay and the companions never changing their look (or clothes) at all really hurts thinking years.

But yeah, 7 years and in real life you are beyond romancing and moved into the "forever just friends" territory.

Not really but those odds get less as time goes by. People meet other people. And SEVEN years, meet several people. You take seven years to seal the deal? Whoa.
