ah, well that explains it >_>
Bad bad golems... what about the red dragon, any idea what his FR is, cos i might use these things against him... same with shadow dragon... so far all i do is use breach, lower resistance and wand of lightning bolt spammingly.

Only iron (and maybe adamantine) golems are HEALED by fire. Fire elementals, red dragons, fire giants, etc just ignore fire damage entirely.
The two clay golems in Chez Jon don't follow the normal rules, you can kill them with anything. I frequently backstab them to death with the non-magical katana from the starter gear table.

the golems in chez jon are only like that cos there is no way you are going to destroy normal clay golems with standard weapons XD

I'm so happy this deeply irritating thread has been railroaded into an overly technical discussion about golems

I think I need to bookmark this for future reference. No matter how many times I play I can never remember what golems need what to kill. Very helpful!

quick guide is for standard golems:
Flesh - any magical weapon
Clay - magical blunt weapons
Stone - any +2 or higher weapon
Iron/Adamantite - any +3 weapon or higher
Magic - only regular non-magic weapons will hurt them
they all have 100% magic resistance. Iron golems typically have 20% physical damage resistance and Adamantite golems have 90% physical damage resistances.

Thanks, Dante, that's brilliant! Hopefully I'll even remember it next time.

IIRC, Firkraag is immune to fire in vanilla. I use a mod that gives him rather absurd resistances, but the immunity to fire is allready there in vanilla, i think. Again from memory: the shadow dragon in the temple ruins has no resistance to lightning.
You can check for yourself in SK. Open SK, click the 'view' tab, then 'creature browser', select the creature you want to view, click 'edit' (but don't edit anyting), click the tab 'resistances'. You can also check their AC, Thaco, etc that way.

Liches arent that hard tho... just remember to use true sight followed immediatly by time stop (i mean have cleric cast TruS and timing so the sorc finishes Time stop) then i cast a couple of breach spells and cast a couple of magic immunity buffs.
Or failing to have time stop... run away just as he casts time stop.
Liches drop like undead flies.

I thought breach, lower resistance, pierce magic, etc all bipassed any magic resistance...
oh well then again i guess not... since rakshasha are immune to breach O_O
Well then maybe either spellstrike or pierce magic helps instead if they are immune to spell tier 5 under.
