DA2 more replayable to me than DAO

I seriously love that part. Aside from the Landsmeet, easily the best part of DAO. Wish it´d be longer.

Fade-loving apostate!
Other than the visual distortion, I didn't like it because, in the main "Broken Circle" questline, you're stuck in the Fade until you're finished with it. You can't leave and switch gears if you want to do something else for a bit. This kind of mechanic makes me want to steamroll a sequence to get it over with rather than stop and admire the view.

I also love DA:O's Deep Roads.

its part of why so many people are having such a hard time liking DA2 because they put DA:O on that pedestal of perfection so any difference makes it horrible.
i loved DA:O and DA2 and i can tell you huge issues in both games. just because i like something doesnt mean i can't admit its faults. DA:O does some things better, and DA2 does somethings better. both are pretty good games, overall i'd say DA:O is better but DA2 is still a pretty darn good game.
and ill agree, DA2 has more replayability. its just more fun to play for me. the combat in DA:O is clunky and awkward. some of the parts are too long. hell for replayability purposes game length being too long is an issue. 30-40 hours is perfect for replability purposes. longer than that is well, tiresome after a point.

Well but it´s the same in the Deep Roads, and, at least if you RP a dutiful character, actually all the time after you travel to Denerim with Eamon, so......

Two most horrible parts of DAO: Derp Roads and Ice Temple (or whatever the hell you want to call it). Boring as hell.

Not a big fan of the Deep Roads, either, though I do think the objectives in the Deep Roads are more focused. And you don't have to learn a new set of game mechanics where you swap forms in order to beat the Deep Roads.

Yeah the PC version wins by far.
Constant mods and updates, wish i had a decent PC.
I think my opinion of this game would be different if I played it on a console. I am enjoying it on PC
I give the PC version like 2 more stars than 360 on a 10 star system ranking. Having both, when I see places that rank it like 5 out of 10, I don't get bent out of shape because that's what I give the game on the console because of no auto-attack and the issues with the game outside of that.
PC gets 7 because it has auto-attack so no deduction for that. Plus the mods make it even more enjoyable than Bioware gave us. So again if I see something higher than 5, I figure they are playing the PC/Mac version so fair there too.
And I have yet to find a game I'd give 10 out of 10 so 7 isn't really too bad a score in my eyes. There are games I played for years without stopping for long periods that I would give an 8 to. But this is one game I can see platform could be a reason for the difference in rankings.

Except everything he stated in his post was not just an opinion. Everything he mentions that makes da2 more replayable is either about the same or has more depth in origins.

I liked the Fade on my first two playthroughs, but then, creating a new character I found myself postponing the tower for as long as possible and was really glad for the mod eventually.
Mainly the distorted view wasn't exactly gentle to my eyes. Good idea, but gave me a headache.

That's pretty much my favorite part of DAO, too.
What turns me off the game (besides playing as a Mage, apparently) is the Deep Roads. Fantastic experience the first time around, but a boring grind in following playthroughs.

I would pay Bioware to not make me play it again, there's only so much recycled and boring environments I can stand. That's even before you get into the awful storyline and script.

Given the fact that in da2 what ever dialogue option you choose the same event occurs should not be considered more choice. Is that an opinion? Playing other classes wasn't in the first game? The only thing that makes sense is that he likes the faster pace of da2.

To be honest, the shapechanging stuff is precisely why i love the Fade so much. It would be so cool if you could somehow.... learn it permanently with some AWESOME explanation and then use it out of the fade, too.
Just imagine the awesome - stealth for every class with mouse, casting inferno and then jump right in the fray with burning man, GOLEMS ..... aaa it would be beautiful

The Fade would have otherwise been fine, but since you have to hunt down every single attribute point it can get a little tedious. Though the companion dreams in The Fade were pretty awesome, in my opinion. It was a nice touch.

Nope , It wasnt a perfect game, DA:O was not 10/10 but it wasnt less than 9/10 either. It was a gr8 epic game. Agreed it had its own share of issues but when I see DA2 .... well Its like DA:O is Andraste and DA2 is Kolgrim ( if you remember the evil cultist leader )

DA II, to me, personally, was a cute little game. Nothing more. No hate here. If you enjoy it vastly, more power to you. I wish I could. Then I wouldn't have to sigh heavily at spying a sweet pair of shoes, and tell myself "Well girl, you already spent your monthly "just for fun" money on something that wasn't what you expected, so move along."
I'm also close to getting a complex. I liked the Deep Roads in DA:O (and still do, I'm still playing it, you see). It was wonderfully creepy and sad, and shocking. The Fade not so much, but only because my girls had to make solo runs. Too lonely, you know.

I had longer treks through fun houses than what was representative for the Deep Roads in DA2. In Origins, that particluar mission took nearly as long as Act 1 in DA2, and I would begin to compare the two in scope as it doesn't compare.

People whine about the Fade part in Origins because they are LAZY and want instant gratification when they game.

Well, no. It's confusing and the lighting is such that it gives me a migraine to play it for very long. Plus any time you have to go back over the same ground a number of times and work your way through mazes it gets tedious. You are also on your own and I always missed my party playing through that.Melca36 wrote...

While I understand your point I honestly had no problems with it.
The fade in DA:2 Bored me.
I hope they do it better in DA:3.
