Woke up, downloaded, played it.

Very few complaints. A lot of surprises. Brilliant cut scenes. It was short but sweet. I prefer quality over quantity any day though. There's a few bugs but nothing worth mentioning, it ran smooth for me. I think it was a great ending, or second ending to ME2. We learned a lot from it. I'm very excited for Mass Effect 3 now!

I very much apprechiated the DLC, and I enjoyed it but not as much as Overlord and especially nowhere near as much as Shadowbroker, but that was expected at the 560 points price. Athlough the lower price does redeem the lower quality as the last DLC it is ashame to see it go out with more of a whisper.

1. I think it'd have had far more impact if it had been designed to be playable only after the suicide mission with more dialog centered around that. Bioware didn't need to play it safe by making every DLC playable before the suicide mission.

2. If the DLC had have came before they showed us the reapers arriving in the Mass Effect 3 trailer it would have had more impact. Between the end of ME 2 and the ME 3 trailer we'd already figured out that the reapers had manually piloted. And we still don't know how they ended up in Earth's solar system first. Everyone was hoping for a suprise visit from the Vimire Survivor or something they didn't already know and it didn't happen.

3. Playing as Shepard was interesting enough but felt kinda pointless in gameplay - I don't want to see this happen again in ME3. At least not in the main bulk of the game. I understand that it was a neccessory evil to have Shepard not have his squadmates with him because it would have been stupid them not voice acted for something this important. Assuming direct control of mechs was quite interesting and I wouldn't mind seeing remotely piloted objects in ME 3 or ME 3 DLC.

4. it was absolutely awsome finally seeing Admiral Hackett - great fan service there but the Virmire Survivor was badly needed on this DLC. You could have tied in the Vimire Survivors secret mission with this DLC and had the VS as a temp squad mate for this mission.

5. In ME 3 I really want to see more colourful, more beautiful worlds for DLC. Explore aspects that normally can't be fit on the disc. Like female race aliens and other interesting lore.

6. Back to the Virmire Survivor. I think it was a really bad decision on Biowares part to not cover them in the ME 2 DLC and to not provide a compelling emotional moment with them equal to Liara's DLC. I'm sure it'll make sence in ME 3. But at the moment we probably have a ton of people changing their romance choice to Liara and PS3 users not even bothering to pick Ash or Kaiden, or just cheating on them as a result of losing faith in Bioware's direction of these characters. I really think that this DLC could have covered both. I mean think about PS3 users will go into ME 3 with zero emotional investment in Ashley / Kaiden even if they picked them as a romance option at the start.

7. The opportunity to talk with Harbinger and learn new information was missed. He told us the same stuff he'd been telling us all along. I wanted to get to know Harbinger and have a good go at him the same way Shepard did with Sovereign in ME1 and maybe learn something new about the reapers purpose.

8. You set the bar with Shadow Broker to new heights. Please remember that when you raise the bar people expect more. This DLC just didn't have the same emotional investment.

In the end I feel we were underdelivered on how much story / bridging DLC was released for Mass Effect 2 but I can understand the reasons why Bioware doesn't want to confuse things too much going into ME3 or have players who didn't buy the DLC not have a clue whats going on, that is unfortunately the limitations of DLC. Either way thank you this final DLC bioware. I still enjoyed it and hope you will take my criticism into consideration in the future.

I've had it since 5AM PST. It's always been there if you knew where to look. It wasn't on the dashboard, but under extras.

Like:
Level design
Reaper threat feels imminent again

Dislike:
Loan wolf - prefer squad to solo
Lack of Ashley/Kaidan – starting to feel ostracized
Ending – would have liked to see shepard taken into custody

Nearly 11am MST and still no Arrival of Arrival for PC. C'mon Bioware! Releasing it for the other platforms and dissing on PC is just disheartening. If a last minute bug was found that needs to be squished, I'm fine with waiting but how about some feedback. Tell us whats going on. When it's supposed to be out, and just isn't with no word, we're left hanging which isn't fun.

Goods:
Going solo brought a differnt type of gameplay to it
Music was great.
Layout of the Space station was very well done.
Ending of the of DLC EPIC, Reapers feel even more of threat than ever before.
Return of Hackett
560 MS pionts not a bad deal.

Bad
Story of Arrival was awesome but it of should improved more to be a epilogue than aonther side mission.
Few glitches such as the tangos in my sniper rifle scope did not slow down (Infiltrator class only),
sound got muffled at times.
Felt short beat it in 1H and 30mis

All and all Great DLC give it a 9 out of 10

I enjoyed this well written, if brief, DLC. Hopefully this has some significant impact on the next game (those that picked it).

I agree with those that have pointed out that the future "trial" of Shepard doesn't make too much sense for those that have been reinstated as Spectres. If he's been reinstated that means he has a mandate to do whatever he needs to do about the Reaper situation without the law touching him. In fact since he was operating outside Citadel Space he was following the Councilors' wishes to the letter.

I think they could have suprised us with Ashley/Kaidan walking in the med room after Hackett left and things could have gone on from there. Maybe a sorry for being a nob on Horizon.

Good dlc for its price ... tiny bit short compared to even overlord or kasumis memory

It really set up ME3.

Some of the dialogue felt kindve forced...

It basically rendered the me2 plot with the collectors pointless : /

Overall I would give it a 7/10

I was hoping that the final dlc for me2 would be a bit longer and more cinematic like lotsb.

But it was still good

This is what I had really hope had happened. They could have been like a personal bodygaurd purposefully picked by Hackett and this could have been the opertunity to have your moment with them like LotSB with Liara. The stress of now possibly seeing you put to life (Or death?) for doing the right thing could break some of the anger they had towards you and them realizing that you are the same person they knew.

I have mixed feelings about this DLC. The story was amazing as always, but the length of the DLC was just too short. I know "quality over quantity," but length is usually what makes DLC worth it and makes people feel more satisfied. Length is the most judged topic when it comes to downloadable content.

Even though it was short, I still enjoyed it but I was more satsfied with Overlord and Shadow Broker (both had a great story and solid length).  With all of the hype and BioWare teasing pictures for the DLC before it came out, you'd think it would be going out with a bang. This DLC really didn't do that, but I did appreciate that you can forsee Shepard's future in Mass Effect 3 (Spoiler: Shepard will have to defend him/herself in a trial for sacrificing over 300,000 batarians to stop the Reaper invasion).

It was great that we finally got to see Admiral Hackett in person, but it was only a quick 3 minute conversation. This actually didn't bother me, I'm just hoping this means we get to see a lot more of him in Mass Effect 3. I also thought it was neat that you finally get a brief converation with Harbinger and I'm certain we'll see plenty of him in the sequel. I'd also like to add that it was interesting for this mission to be solo, but the reasoning for it didn't seem reasonable (Admiral Hackett didn't want you to bring your team in fear of an all out assault).

Overall, I'd give this DLC 7.5/10

BioWare does what they do best and that's making a great story, but I feel this DLC needed more. I felt like this DLC should have ended Mass Effect 2 with a bang, but at least it lets us know what to expect in Mass Effect 3. We all know that Lair of the Shadow Broker would be a tough act to follow and it certainly was. Most would agree that LotSB was the best DLC so far for ME2.

Likes:

+Stealth
+Environment design
+More of the Reapers
+Admiral Hackett
+Connection to ME3

Dislikes:

-Length
-No intense cliffhanger
-Lack of Paragon/Renegade options

Just like LotSB, Arrival makes me happy and sad at the same time. It makes me happy because it's friggin' awesome, but it makes me sad because this should have been part of the main game's story and it isn't. The Collector plot was weak in many ways.

Arrival along with LotSB feel like I hoped ME2 would be before I actually played the game. It felt more like ME (1), so thumbs up for that.

Right now I can't think of anything substantial that I disliked about it.
Giving Hackett a face was good, the soloing was nice as well as the short adventure with the mech.
I felt there was more role playing involved in Arrival which was good and the environments felt more sci-fi than most of the vanilla game ever did.
Our little chat with Harbinger was really good. I was actually able to take it seriously now that it wasn't just trash talking all the time.
The ending wasn't disappointing, but I expected something more. I'm curious to see how ME3 is gonna start if you didn't do Arrival.

In case of tl; dr: it was really good, and you should have done ME2 more like this instead of how it eventually turned out.

EDIT: now that I've seen how much time I've spent to complete the DLC I have to join my fellow forumites in saying that it was a bit on the short side.

ANOTHER EDIT: I also find some of the writing inconsistent and unrealistic.

I wouldn't blame Bioware. They hand the DLC out to all platforms at the same time. It's Steam's fault.

chris just a quick question. why wasnt arrival the official ending in me2? i think that wouldve ended this game perfectley expecially the final cut scene of reapers invading the milky way. dont get me wrong i love me2 but this dlc couldve made the sm more epic.

Yeah it could have had them same Hackett hired them shortly after Shepards last meeting with them. But i think this just sets up a big role for them in ME3.

Also In my opinion Arrival shouldve been made only available to the player after completeing the SM.

It doesnt really make sense to do it before the collectors have failed.

I guess the Council can decide to remove the status for going too far, but I think after SM there was enough evidence to prove Reapers are real. We are also assuming the writers are that concerned about keeping continuity and coherence. Let´s hope they don´t copy DA2 team.

I liked the way that it is significant to ME's main plot (there are some inconsistencies, but still it was surely worth it) and it's level design (which was awesome, especially batarian prison sequence); what I liked not? That it was so combat-heavy, choice-less and that the new (temporary) squad member had no special powers.

Overall, it was really good, way better that what was served for DA:O. Keep it up then!

Just finished. Overall I thought it was really good. The background of the last fight was awesome, with the mass relay in the background. I gotta say, the environments and backgrounds in all the DLCs have been really epic. I thought the story was really good. It had a strong grip on my interest throughout the entire mission. I really liked how it sets up for ME3. It will be interesting to see how the whole, "Shepard having to go to earth to defend himself for sacrificing 300,000 batarians"-thing, will play out.

I will say I was expecting a larger, expansion-like DLC. But I'm ok with what we got. I thought the reason for Shepard doing the mission alone was reasonable, but it still would have been nice to involve our squadmates somehow. Even just a small appearance in a cutscene or something. Also, while I know you couldn't get Seth Green to record additional dialogue for the DLC, you could have at least humored me with some recycled lines instead of making him completely silent throughout the entire DLC. The combat felt like a chore I had to complete in order to get to what I actually wanted (the story). It's just that without some new interesting gameplay mechanic, the combat feels old after having played the game for so long.

Again, I thought it was very good overall considering it's length. I enjoyed it very much, and I can't wait for ME3.

Kinda okay, but not nearly as good as Shadow Broker, Overlord, or Kasumi.

The mech control section was fun. A bit of strangeness that goes by quickly enough that the lack of powers & slow movement doesn't have time to get annoying. Kinda like the VR section in Overlord; that's actually a more appealing way to do a solo segment than the way it happened in Arrival (both in terms of story & gameplay).

I like the foreshadowing for ME3 in the coda; if it actually pays off, I'll like it even more.

Solo-ing felt, to me, more like a cost-saving measure than a true gameplay variation. What's the point, if you can just blast your way through anyway?

With the relatively short playtime & no new gun or, it felt a bit light-weight compared to the other DLCs. Kasumi was really good in that way - mission, party member, gun, all in one package. Shadow Broker had Liara's return & Stasis, and Overlord had the vehicle sections.

Both Hackett and Kenson looked a bit off, face-wise. Too rough, maybe? Neither one looked as human as the party members & major NPCs from the main game. Kenson's generic clothes & unresponsive hair made her look especially bad.

The timer bars you got (during the gauntlet to the comm relay, for example) covered up a big part of the mini-map with the enemy positions, making it pretty much unusable. That was a problem in the core game, too, wasn't it? Is that an issue with me playing on a 1440*900 screen instead of a tv?

I enjoyed it but it was far too short.

Harbinger still simply does not compare to Sovereign. This is for several reasons. The voice effect used just doesn't radiate the same aura of power and terror as Sovereign's and the voice actor still comes off as slightly comical. The exchange between Shepard and Harbinger also felt a little too short.

I honestly don't think it was worth my money given how little content there actually was.
