new computer and monitor and DA2.The monitor i bought was pretty
expensive and says on the box that it supports full HD 1920x1080 and
HDMI.Ok so i hook it up using an HDMI cable and set the resolution to
the recommended 1920x1080 on the desktop and in this resolution its
cutting all sides off from left, right, top and bottom making it black
around the edges. The only way ive been able to get a full screen picture
is setting the resolution to 1680x1050
With the resolution set
to 1680x1050 i launch DA2 and first chose 1920x1080 just to check it and
it boxed me in blackening out the edges of the screen whats odd is when
i set it to 1680x1050 which is what i had the resolution set to at the
desktop and was getting a fullscreen in DA2 it blackens out the edges
like 1920x1080 and i have to set the games resolution to 1600x900 to get
a fullscreen.This confused me.
As you can tell i am in no was
tech savy and really could use someones help with this.Any help at all
would be GREATLY appreciated!

Try 1920x1200.
In any event, I'd use the monitor native resolution.

If it's due to overscan you can avoid the problem using a DVI-cable altogether.

The monitor didnt come with any cables so i just used a spare HDMI cable when i hooked it all up.There are some buttons with an up and down symbol and a square with lines in the inside of the square on the monitor but when i touch any of them a msg onscreen pops sayin "OSD Locked"

Right click taskbar
click Start Task Manager
click processes tab
look for ccc.exe
That particular driver was updated recently. Try installing this.

Seeing how its a new computer i thought about oing a clean install of windows 7 and just starting over. That would mean downloading the ATI drivers and such again and i have had a hard time dealing with ATI stuff so far. When i had an Nvidia card it would just detect your card and automatically give you a link to the current drivers.Honestly i may sound stupid but if someone dont give me a link to any ATI stuff i have a hard time knowing if its the right download.

I first installed the 11.4 ccc preview and it did the same flickering cursor thing it had been doing,i then uninstalled ccc using the ccc 11.4 installer then reinstalled. Now it dosent flicker and do nothing it just makes the circle appear and stay there for a sec then disappear.Checked the process tab in task manager and it still isnt showing ccc.exe
In my experience, using the CCC installer to uninstall CCC only creates problems. Do the following instead:
In Windows, go to Control Panel, then Programs, select Uninstall a Program, scroll to the Catalyst driver listing and remove the program. Reboot Windows. Then, reinstall the Catalyst driver.
Not sure which OS you're running. Below are links to the 32 and 64 bit Windows 7 drivers. This is assuming a Radeon 5xxx series desktop graphics card if I read your previous posts correctly.
Windows 7 32-bit driver: http://sites.amd.com...on_win7-32.aspx
Windows 7 64-bit driver: http://sites.amd.com...on_win7-64.aspx
If I made an incorrect assumption, go to this page and fill in the info for your card. It also contains a video on how to identify, download, install/uninstall drivers.

The computer i got was a demo in Best Buy,i bought the demo to save a hundred bucks and as soon as i got it home i noticed that when i start it up theres a message on the task bar that says "some drivers arent compatible and will be turned off".I get that message every time i start up.
Just saw this post. Personally, I would do a full clean install. A demo model means lots of folks were test driving the system so there's no telling the condition of the software installation. I don't know if Best Buy would do a clean install as a courtesy because it was a floor model and is generally sold "as is". Can always ask though.

I uninstalled ccc using revo uninstaller and restarted and then installed again..nothing same result.I then uninstalled using the control panel restarted and installed..nothing.
ccc was working when i first started using the computer...seems like when i installed the drivers i listed above is when ccc broke.

If you absolutely don't want to then try the methods in this thread.

There seems to be a lot of reported success with clearing the windows global assembly cache.

If that's the case, you should be able to do a system restore to before you installed the drivers.
win key + r type rstrui.exe

Ive only installed an OS once a long while ago and it was XP.The disk i have is a friends windows 7 which is my current OS,my computer didnt come with any software. The disk has some minor scratches, there isnt a chance of getting halfway through installing the OS and running into major problems because of the scratches on the disk is there?
Also after doing a clean install i assume all i would need to do is download the 11.3 or 11.4 drivers?Other than the essential other things that i know how to get.

As for your friend's Windows 7 disk, I don't know whether or not the disk will work without trying it out on a test system.
