Have you survived all enemy waves? YES / NO
Have you enjoyed the fight? YES / NO

Difficulty level: Insanity
Shepard's class: Vanguard
Weapons used: Claymore
Bonus power: Stasis

What strategy have you used?
Enemy fire is incoming from multiple directions, cover is a must. I made sure that I know where I am Charging - to avoid stuns from Pyros/YMIR; and I always made sure there is a cover nearby.

The first wave was easy - I was Charging back and forth until all standard mercs died.

As soon as the Pyros came, I waited until they were isolated, then I took them out by shooting their tanks. They exploded.

I moved strategically from cover to cover, in order to isolate enemies that couldn't be OSOK'd (Elites and Engineers), and killed them one by one.

I used Stasis on YMIR (avoiding the Fall of Death bug though) - in the end, YMIR was killed by a 'friendly' Flashbang..firendly fire at its best :D
Overall, the fight was relatively easy, but really fun to play. It felt like the last stand :)

I think as long as Vanguards keep their heads cool, this fight should not be a problem.

A shame my first playthrough will be with my Mattock/Widow soldier. I think it will be understandable if I don't put it into this strategy section. But my second will be Engineer and I am fairly sure this will be something worth to read.

Yes on Infiltrator, but I put it from hardcore to veteran. (Mainly as I hadn't played for months and was used to Halo's controls.)

Did it first time on veteran, failed about 5 on hardcore. Just goes to show the huge dificult gap, lol. (I have also finished the game on insanity, this post makes me look a little nooby)

To take out those damned pyros, I raged and used my grenade launcher, and assassin cloaked and boom headshotted them with the widow.

Have you survived all enemy waves? NO
Have you enjoyed the fight? YES

Difficulty level: Insanity
Shepard's class: Adept
Weapons used: Mattock, Tempest
Bonus power: Stasis

Died on the first wave lol should've started with Vanguard. A lot of CQC going on throughout the DLC; Pyro's spawning round corners metres away from Shepard and constantly on my toes and watching out for being flanked all the time. Last portion of the game was a cakewalk IMO biotics like Pull instakill enemies high enough in the air (similar to the Shadow Brokers ship).

The choice of either 'stealth' or just combat in the prison is an interesting concept with multiples paths to get to destination. Controlling LOKI's was neat and also pretty funny too. Will try Vanguard and survive the waves this time.

Nice vid Kronner, I definitely lol'd when the YMIR got killed by a stray Flashbang, good stuff.

On my first playthrough.

Did you survive? I don't want to talk about it.
Did you enjoy the fight? Yes...until the game took a gigantic **** on my face.

I was doing great - what I would do is find enemies that were clustered together, charge one, kill the one next to him during the stagger/time dilation, walk between an enemy and the incoming fire to shield myself, I had things under control.

And then...

PYRO.

Pyros don't pose much of a threat to me, since it's just one Claymore shot and 1/2 melees to take them down, but this particular pyro was was charge-proof; The game didn't even give me the normal 'Can't get a lock!', I got the whiff charge animation, complete with with cooldown, and died.

I raged.

SO HARD.

When I do this again on Vanguard/Adept, I will update. Hopefully my controller survived that 100 mph fastball at the wall, I threw the thing with every goddamn bit of force I could muster.

:(

I will say, however, I have the dirtiest LOKI mech in the universe, bar none.

Yeah, I think Adept will have a hard time in this fight, I am gonna give it a try later :)
When the YMIR exploded, I was like wtf is going on, I found out later when I was converting the video :D

LOL, poor controller!
Pyros are by far the greatest threat in that fight, that's for sure. No one else can stun you so easily.

You don't even know, man. I was HEATED. I can count the amount of times I have been that angry at a video game on one hand.

I really liked the DLC, though. Incredibly short, but I'd rather have it be short with impact and weight than long and about nothing.

If anyone wants to see, I could take a crack at this Berserker Vanguard style a little later on, once I apologize to my controller and buy it an expensive necklace.

Too much Berserker Vanguard play I reckon, think your controller just learned Biotic Charge with that kind of force. :P

There's people hating on Arrival 'cause of the length or no VS, but the combat is action packed and feels refreshing in a way you shouldn't really argue. Out of the 560 point DLC's its better than Kasumi and Overlord and would rank it just on par with LotSB.

Stealth was a huge boon for this fight. Whenever things got too heated, i'd stealth into a safer spot and use assassination cloak to take out that elite or engineer. Incinerate stopped any flamethrower zergs. My only real challenge was the last wave with the mech. Burned it down with my nade launcher and incinerate, AI hacked it, and let it do the rest of the job :P

Survived all Waves - Yes
Enjoyed the Fight - NO

Difficulty - Causal
Soldier
Collector Particle Beam, Revenant, and Geth Shotty
Bonus Power - Warp Ammo

I dashed to the right as soon as I got the chance and bunkered down with the CPB out taking out most of the waves as they landed. I dont like fights like this for any reason because of the stupid starts that every developer has used with them and this one was no exception. I dont expect many people to survive this fight without abusing something to no end.

I only tried once and didn't bother to reload. I was doing well in the beginning, but then a pyro sneaked up on me. I hate those guys.

Vanguard is up next. Not looking forward to the frakin' pyros as I'm using the Scimitar. Few poor timed melees and you die.

I shall be uploading quite an agressive vanguard playthrough very soon and this fight is quite fun to watch because I mostly use tall cover and don't stay in the same place much :D

But hey, do you expect less from the maker of The Crazy shotgun chick?

Haha, I got the achievement on insanity with vanguard, now I want to try with a mattock vanguard because this looks quite fun to do.

What strategy have you used?
Playing Arrival was a wakeup call to just how long it had been since I played ME2. Knowing that my skills were rusty, I decided I should reduce the difficulty and replay through one of the other DLC first. I chose Stolen Memory. From playing that DLC, I knew I wasn't going to be able to do Insanity and that my aim was back to abysmal levels.

I used every trick in the book to try to survive. My ability to navigate a battlefield was never a strong suit, as I normally pick a spot to defend and keep with it as long as possible. Kudos to Arrival for making that sort of strategy incredibly difficult.

The pistol I reserved solely for pyros, and as soon as I saw them, my mission was to take them out as quickly as possible by aiming for their tanks. Other than that, I stuck to my Widow for single-shotting most everyone I could. The Arc Projector tends to be my get out of jail card when I'm in trouble, but it wasn't working for me this time. When I ran out of bullets or needed to break for new cover, I switched to the Locust and tried a cloak/short-range attack. Unfortunately, the time it takes me to switch weapons usually meant I was kinda dead. I believe a flanking maneuver by the enemy mixed by my slow ability to switch to the Locust and cloak is what eventually did me in.

Not being able to survive that fight is the only reason why I want to replay the DLC.

I killed the first wave, when it became less chaotic I went to the left side and used the cover (not up the stairs). They can't seem to touch you there, aside from the one guy with the flamethrower.

Survived and enjoyed.

Insanity, soldier, no heavy weps.
Bonus power Geth Shield Boost.

At the start, take out the 2 guys from the initial position. Then move slightly to the right to the corner of the Rho box, take cover there. Every single enemy will come at you by moving counterclockwise around Rho, you will not be flanked. Kill mooks until heavy mech shows up. There should be 3 heat sinks within easy reach that you can storm to when you get a breather.

Kill as many mooks as possible until YMIR starts to get to flanking position, then retreat to the lab part on the side of the room. Clean up remaining mooks while avoiding LOS on mech. Kill mech by kiting around cover.

Have you survived all enemy waves? Nope, I died once (damn 1 HP Pyro backstab), but ... survived
Have you enjoyed the fight? Yeah

Difficulty level: Insanity
Shepard's class: Adept
Weapons used: GPS
Bonus power: Stasis (though I totally forgot about it, the YMIR reminded me in the end. :)

What strategy have you used?
I used SHIFT to spot enemies - ran up to them - charged GPS shot + Singularity - warp - finish survivors. Everything went smoothly up to the betrayal. Quickly disposed two enemies at Shep's right flank, got her in a good position. Somehow I missed a pyro who survived the biotic chocke point, he burned Shep :?

That was about halfway into Kronner's video. I missed the best part. I'll give it another go with my Adept first, but Vanguard is next on the list for sure. FB keeps amazing me, I've seen many weird things using it, but the FF YMIR kill beats them all! Why does this always happen to you Kronner? Grunt charging scions and the like, now YMIRs. What's next? :P

The fight after you wake up again is cool too. Multiple elites, engineers, a couple of pyros and the usual suspects. They forced me to (cowardly) retreat into the corridor used to enter the room.

I really like this dlc and I'm gonna play it with all classes, just to find out how well they can handle those fights.

Oh, and I almost felt sorry for those poor Bactarians in the end. :)

haha, Grunt does his Charge quite regulary in the Reaper IFF mission, I think if you mess around the Scions, he's gonna join the fight with a hard hit sooner or later :D
As for the Firendly Flashbang Kill, I had no idea what happened, I found out later when I converted the video. A fluke, but I don't mind haha.

Yeah, solid fights throughout this DLC.

Same here, I am about to start a Revenant Soldier playthrough, can't wait to try it out in the Object Rho fight.

Didn't survive all waves. Mech and one remaining soldier killed me. Only had one go at it and had to go as was already late. Combat and level design in the DLC was really good. Bodes well for ME3, the designers are getting better all the time.

Have you survived all enemy waves? No (Damn pyro)
Have you enjoyed the fight? Yes

Difficulty level: Normal
Shepard's class: Infiltraitor
Weapons used: M-29 Incisor, M-12 Locust, & Arc Projector
Bonus power: Reave

What strategy have you used?
Being an infiltraitor I typically stayed in cover, but moved to each side to make sure I got all enemies. Incinerate is one of my favorite abilities of the infiltraitor along with Cryo Ammo. I love making them flail as they are set on fire and freeze them so they are easier to take down. Unforunatly, I hadn't played Mass Effect 2 in a while, so I was slightly rusty. Curse Dragon Age 2 for distracting me. Usually I would take Pyro's out with incinerate, basically using their own weapon's against them, since it always makes them blow up. I was killing enemies with the Locust, and didn't realize a Pyro I had missed and came up next to me. I tried to kill them, but for some reason I couldn't move and was "fired" to death.

Even though I was mad about not surviving through the section, the fight after waking up is still fun. Taking control of a mech, and fighting through solid waves of enemies. I think either way is very enjoyable, whether you survive or not. After I get my fill of Dragon Age 2, I will do a new play of Mass Effect 2 on a higher difficulty. And I can't wait to see this fight on a harder level.

And one last note, poor Batarians. I tried to warn them, but the damn doctor. Curse my Paragon Shepard, she's willing to go to trial no matter what. At least Admiral Hackett respects her. (And yes, my ship is barely a Cerberus vessel anymore.) XD If this is what Mass Effect 3 will be like, I'm excited. Everything looked great and the combat was really good. I honestly can't wait, and wish the holiday season would roll around now. (:

I think Bioware should put a solo mission like this one in ME3, much better than Thane's LM - for example, and it's something special and challenging for all classes (great replay value).

About Adepts having a difficult time, all I can say at this point is that everything was easy except those two fights and my Adept was doing well - that pyro got lucky. The last part with the YMIR will be hardest I think. The GPS is great for this mission and there's plenty of ammo around.

The last part (outside) is great for Pull, GPS shot and a arced Pull to get the enemy upwards into the storm kills them very fast (one kill per 2-3 seconds), Slam should be equally useful here.

Rev Soldier sounds nice, but I think the Claymore Engineer will give it shot first, after a Vanguard warmup run.

Agreed. It is gonna be fun trying out different classes for this fight.

Yeah, though without Charge, it is harder to react correctly according to enemy movement - that is, if you do not want to pause.
Charge was a great escape option here.

I just died - Revenant Soldier - a pyro fried me, and I never saw him coming. I should have used the map ;)

Weapons used: Mattock, Arc Projector, Widow Rifle
Bonus power: Armor Piercing Ammo

What strategy have you used?

I used the brilliant strategy of slowing down time and staying behind cover. I lit up the Pyros with the Mattock, and with AP ammo, the normal guys go down in three hits or less. However, there was one guy that decided he could defy the laws of nature and shoot through on of the pillars. The YMIR mech went down with only a bit of trouble, as I had run out of Mattock ammo. But that's ok, because I just electrocuted the dickens out of it.

The fight itself was mediocre. Too much cover, not enough strategy needed to defeat the waves. Wait for them to drop-execute them-wait more. Probably becaue I'm a soldier on Normal, but still.
