LOL, you got 3 during the 2nd wave (1 in the 3th and 1 in the 4th), but you shot the tanks of the first 3 before those pyros got through the door - maybe the game doesn't count them being in play then? :)

I just played Arrival with an Engineer and decided to try it without shooting. I ran to the left side and took cover and for some reason the enemies stopped at a certain point and did not get to my cover. As if there was some kind of invisible wall that's also present in other parts of the game. And the whole 5 waves I only fought 1 Engineer, 1 Project Elite and 2 Pyros - the rest were regular goons. Then they announced to bring out the Heavy Mech - but no YMIR spawned. I don't know if it had something to do with the coverspot but this all seemed pretty strange to me.

That certainly sounds fishy, probably some kind of bug. That fight is really weird, enemies can disappear or get stuck on the balcony quite easily, and now this. But it was still fun fight to replay a couple of times.

Made it! It was easy with my soldier because I found the safe spot in the left corner. Just wait and pick the enemies one by one, doing precise shots for ammo conservation. Mattock for the "normals", Widow for the "elites" like engineer, pyros and the like. The YMIR advances up to the safe spot but does not hit you behind your cover, so it is pretty easy to go through that level if you don´t waste your ammo.

Legion's LM has a similar bug if you pin the geth down at one of the doors, however in that case it breaks the mission sequence.

I beat it with a soldier Revvy,Widow, Claymore.  I only used the Widow and Claymore for the pyros ED as bonus power
Arrivall is tricky sometimes I only got 1 pyro and sometimes I had to face 5 pyros.
Arrival on insanity is much harder than any other fight in ME2. .But for some reason it can be so simple or hard as hell.

I think Adept is definently has the hardest time. I recommend Stasis or Barrier

That was a fun fight. Lots of people from a lot of different angles. It took me a couple of tries to explore the map a little, but from there it's an other day at the office for my vanguard. Pyros are a pain for me tough. I watched the vids where you make them explode with charge+shotgun but it just doesn't happen for me. Most of the time they just don't catch fire no matter how much I try to aim for the tank. even if they do, they still shoot at me while on fire and manage to kill or stunlock me to death... maybe i'm just unlucky or not a good shot enough. My strategy was to wait for them to be in a stupid spot in the middle of the open, cast stasis, wait for them to be on the floor and shoot their back with the locust, the switch back to claymore rampage.

I find the DLC to be a good test for my different characters: solo play and a big epic fight to test your might without your team. That was refreshing. Nothing exeptionnal, but just enough to give me a reason to come back to me2

Bonus power: Shredder Ammo!!!

In order for me to play a non-pausing fight on the console, I had to gimp myself by using only two mapped powers, which are Area Overload and Heavy Incinerate, and settled for an ammo power. This time I'm using Shredder Ammo since the majority of the enemy are organics, and I've never really used it extensively so I thought hey why not. I really don't know if the damage boost was noticeable, but at least Shredder Ammo seems to generate a lot more bloody splatters, which looks cool. I uploaded the video a while ago but didn't publish it, but now, I'll post it since we need more Engineers and Adept videos:

Strategy: Instead of going to the safer left side, I decided to try battling on the right side lab area because it's a more interesting place to fight. The layout gives enemies three stairways to flank you, so you have keep an eye to the two of them and use Drone to block their routes while you directly deal with the nearest stairway. The initial wave was the hardest because they're all troopers with unpredictble behaviors. Sometimes all of them would rush up to you, sometimes they split up and stay behind cover. But once I settled into that area, it becomes more manageabe. This area is also good to curve powers around covers. Not a pretty fight, and I think a shotgun Engineer would have been more fun. But hey, I used Shredder Ammo :P

Tony Gunslinger: really good playthrough with an Engineer. I have tried it twice with an Engineer and failed both times.
I have only tried Shredder Ammo a couple of times, but it may be the best ammo power for an Engineer, especially for the Object Rho fight. The typical Engineer build (focusing on Combat Drone, Overload, and Incinerate) excels at stripping defenses, but without squadmates it is a lot harder to kill enemies.
I am going to have to try something similar for my next Engineer playthrough.

What strategy have you used?
Been a long while since i last played ME2 my rusty ass got wiped out on my first try by charging a pyro with a empty claymore :( so reloaded & used the mattock to take out the pyros & claymore for everything else & stasis bugged the YMIR in two hits.
It didn't quite make up for how short the dlc was but still this fight was fratic & awesome:D.

Buying myself a few seconds with Dominate helped turn the tide, especially when I had to run from place to place to get more clips. Assault Armor saved my hide as well, especially as the fight wound down.

Survived all five waves.  Enjoyed it.  Infiltrator, Firepower Pack, GL, Locust, Multiple Dominate. Kestrel armor, Archon visor, spare ammo on my arms, chest capacitor, life support webbing for legs.

Basically - I cloaked then ran to the left.  Great cover.  Mass Jedi Mind Trick gets all the bad guys shooting each other.  Single Mind Trick only effects one guy, like the Engineer's Drone.  But Mass Dominate is funny as hell!  Cloaked when the YMIR got too close then ran to the right side of the room.  A couple of GL hits on the YMIR.  Disruptor ammo from the Locust and Mattock helped.  Headshot turned the YMIR into a mini-nuke, which took out the remaining bad guys.  Wish I'd been able to video it.

I actually made a few but this fight doesn't allow a lot of space for style for an Adept unless you have something gimmicky like Dominate or Heavy Weapons, and it seemed like this horse was already dead.

Here's one I uploaded, not my best but I have it online:
Adept - Tempest/Blackstorm love + Stasis

Difficulty level: Hardcore
Shepard's class: Infiltrator
Weapons used: Widow, Collector Particle Beam
Bonus power: Geth Shield Boost

What strategy have you used?
Cloak and run to the cover in the back left corner of the room. Cloak, snipe, cloak, rinse, repeat. It only gets hairy when I start to run out of ammo, because I have to make a mad cloaked dash out of cover to pick up ammo and get back to cover. Once it's down to just Shep and the mech, I switch to the Collector particle beam to take it down quicker.

Never seen the Blackstorm used with Singularity before, interesting combo.

And the YMIR does the splits at 6.31 in the video as well. B)

Awww, you just made me wish I had pre-ordered my ME2 T^T

I so want the Blackstorm...it's just too awesome!!

I took down my video to do some colour corrections(it was WAY darkier than the usual) and also change the ST, now it's 32-bit full range colour, instead of the usual 8-bits

More love for the Adept; and two Singularities at one time - who thought that would be possible :)

@ Waltz ; Does Singularity has some kind of overlap with the Blackstorm? I reckon it popped twice the moment the Blackstorm's one exploded.

Curse Bioware for not putting this piece of art in a dlc - I would love using it myself :(

It didn't pop twice as far as I can tell, it was only seared into my vision by a flash grenade.
I don't think that one affects the other.. they both seem to have the same stagger effect on surrounding enemies but coexist indifferently of each other; maybe it collapsed it? I think the Singularity simply ended at the same time of the explosion (I'm using the wide version).

Apparently, Blackstorm does crazy things with grenades:

Have you survived all enemy waves? Yes
Have you enjoyed the fight? Yes

Difficulty level: Normal
Shepard's class: Infiltrator
Weapons used: Viper Sniper Rifle, Phalanx Heavy Pistol, Locust SMG
Bonus power: Energy Drain

My strategy was to run back and forth between the two sides of the room with tac cloak when ever i was starting to get overrun. Then I would use my sniper to take out the enemies I left at the other side of the room. When pyros came I used my Locust to shoot their gas tanks since the Locust is very accurate and if I missed i would be able to get plenty more shots off to hit the tank anyway. When the YMIR mechs came I use my Phalanx because it does a very great amount of damage when upgraded. (Even when not upgraded.) When ever I got the chance I would tac cloak and run away from a Mech then pull out my sniper and pop off any guards. This fight was a piece of cake when I used this strategy.
