impressive : )
the Guard at the end with 10 hp trying to escape his fate was funny and kind of annoying I bet.
And did the Drone even hit the engineer while he was lying on the ground after he tried to flank you?

It's an explosive drone, so its zap only does damage to shields.
It was zapping away at her as she was laying there in a heap... but the zap did nothing.
The drone was just a desperate deterrant... which worked. :3

Yeah that's pretty much the only purpose of evolving to 'Attack Drone'.
So that the zap will damage anything and everything, 40HP a pop.

Personally I find the Attack version loses viability on Insanity where everyone can shoot down your drone in one second or less, so a nice 100HP area-of-effect explosion works nicely. XD

Have you survived all enemy waves? YES
Have you enjoyed the fight? YES (The fight itself yes but man I HATE the cutscene before it )

Difficulty level: Insanity
Shepard's class: Vanguard
Weapons used: Claymore (incendiary Ammo)
Bonus power: Stasis Lvl 2

What strategy have you used?
www.youtube.com/watch
Charge and Claymore.. a lot ^^ I don't know how others make it without cover, I think it's annoying since enemies shoot even at your toe if it's visible so staying behind a pillar and not get shot is something that barely happens to me so I use cover. I used Stasis (first time ever :D) for the Mech after I wasted most of the wimps around and that part just drags on and on because I really wanted to kill the guards first without risking too much.
This is my first run as Vanguard on Insanity and for that I think it's ok.
I actually did this fight 2 times because I managed to not record the first win I did, so I had to reload and retry.
I hope Dr Kenson (?) has to watch a 30 second clip in an endless loop for all eternity in hell that stupid b**ch and wh**e. If someone can add a line in to the game after you shot here like "I just couldn't do it, I just couldn't let her live!" he or she would be my hero.
Stupid ugly hag.... goddamnit.

Edit: Yeah .... my game (and PC) crashed after the videosequence where you wake up after the fight and I just realized that it crashed before the autosave kicked in, so I have to do the fight again. Awesome :?

Since I had to replay the section and I just can't give up, I recorded again.
So here is the third successful try and the second one I recorded. And I was able to save the game afterwards this time :D

Have you survived all enemy waves? YES

Difficulty level: Insanity
Shepard's class: Vanguard
Weapons used: Claymore (incendiary Ammo)
Bonus power: Stasis Lvl 2

Basically the same again as the former vid. But I have a really bad start in this one and barely survive the first
wave Oo In the end I think I miss two consecutive shots at point blank range...
that's also kind of an achievement :?
I still make it much faster and decided to upload in native resolution so the quality should be better.
By the way: can someone tell me why the mech exploded? Never seen that happening, mechs falling through the ground? Yes, but that explosion surprised me.

Cover and shoot, and moving eventually to look for ammo or avoid to get flanked.
No biotics at all. Just Adrenaline.

Why'd you slap Tungsten on a Soldier if you have Incindiary? The damage difference is negligible, and there's no crowd control effect. =(
I can see times where it might help a little, but I just don't see it having value.

Have you survived all enemy waves? Yes
Have you enjoyed the fight? Yes

Difficulty level: Insanity
Platform: 360 (no vid, sorry :( )
Shepard's class: Soldier
Weapons used: Claymore, Mattock, Carnifex, Viper
Bonus Power: No points into a bonus power, but may have been GSB

What strategy did you use?

I used inferno on my Mattock, Claymore, and Viper (disruptor I've found to be better on subsequent playthroughs) and Cryo on my pistol. Disruptor ammo also causes your target's weapon to overheat so they stop shooting. It's a weak form of crowd control but also allows you to rip through shields. Another reason why I like it better for shielded targets is because ammo powers do a dmg check before your round hits. If a target has even 1 point of shields, and you hit it with a sniper round, only the dmg of the round is used on the shields, then the health. If you have tungsten, warp, or inferno, no extra dmg is done.

Uhh.. basically killed two or three enemies with my mattock, then swapped to the claymore and went hunting. Claymore reload trick was very handy here. Looks much harder to do than in all the vids.

All in all, not too difficult until the Mech comes out. My strat was to move from the right side of the room (after the mech makes its way up there) over to the left side of the room to get as much space/objects between the mech and myself and finish up all the remaining guards/elites. Separating yourself from the mech (no always possible) is a huge boon. Once it's you vs. mech, it's all over. I tried repeatedly to kill the mech asap, but I always ended up dying due to a flank, or a lucky shot from a guard after a machine gun barrage from the mech.

Currently playing as a widow soldier (waiting each day to get all the LotSB tech upgrades, boourns to 360), but I also have a revenant soldier.

Current widow soldier format is
helm: visor
shoulders: kestrel
chest: Capacitor
arms: stability
legs: kestrel
bonus power: improved gsb

I have every power maxed except for cryo (1 point) and concussive shot (0 points). Jack brings my warp ammo when I meet up with barrier friendly enemies.

Oh, I also have to say that Waltzing bear's widow soldier vid is totally amazing. I think it's the best ME2 vid out there.

That video is why I'm currently playing as a widow soldier (to carry over into ME3). I did a revenant on my very first playthrough of ME2, then went to claymore, and from waltzing bear's, over to widow.

I just wish I had gotten some of those dr. pepper promo items, or the blackstorm weapon.

hmm... if someone has a code he doesn't need: I'm one of the unlucky 90 something percent of the worlds population not living in the US and I would gladly appreciate a generous US care package :)
The Blackstorm just looks awesome and seems do be a really decent hw...

Well, you are right about the incendiary-tungsten ammo, but i think this is all about preferences since you die very rarely even on insanity on ME, so there's no real need for extra damage if i dont like it.

Im not saying im skilled or whatever, because i cant even refer that word to a single player game.

I cant give you a good reason why i dont like cryo or incendiary. I simply dont.
Same goes for other things like the Revenant, for example. I know it is an awesome gun but i dont like the sound it makes, so i tend to use the Vindicator or the Mattock.

Thank you so much for your comment.

I've used both ammo types, and I find Tungsten to be a little better simply because it is more dmg.  I don't find it to be negligible, but it is minor.  However, I *DO* find inferno to be better for dealing with husks.  Once you get that fire spreading, it'll start weakening other husks around it.

My ultimate husk killing weapon is the scimitar shotgun.  The GPS is what I normally run with, and disruptor ammo because I tear through shields like no one's business and kill an enemy.  However vs. husks, the scimitar is great due to it's fast fire rate.  You can slow/stumble husks with it, and considering husks group up, the spreading fire really does wonders.

I ran with tungsten for a while, and I found it better on a single target.  I've found inferno to be more useful overall though.  While it does do less dmg, I can deal with that as long as I can decimate husks with inferno.  I do prefer disruptor for organics with shields though.

It can all come down to player preference and squad makeup though.

I dunno why you thanked me, Jahaa. XD
But I understand now. Thanks for clearing it up.

Anyway, on this topic...
Why is it all the Vanguard contributors on the front page had to pack Stasis? =/

I guess that when I finally get around to doing a recorded Vanguard Insanity run, I'll change that with my Scimitar/Vindicator Vanguard +Barrier, and try to pop some Improved Shockwave if I can because I try to avoid being a one-trick-pony. =P

@Memmahkth

Try the Arc Projector (if you have that DLC) against the husks. They wont even move.
Lame sauce but fun, at least for me.

I mean easy.

@CajNatalie

I just try to be polite

@CajNatalie: you know exactly why ; ) it is the easiest way to deal with the mech. You either have to do a fair fight or take him out with Stasis and a few shots. I don't know how. but you can even kill him with one single shot. I made it in my second vid, but I don't know why he exploded Oo
Every other way to take out the mech is more dangerous and takes more time, besides two consecutive Cain shots I guess.

Yeah i agree, shooting a mech with an assaul rifle isnt fair (lol), but what can i do if it only moves like a retard in slow mo.

Well, eventually I'll stop twitching and relying so much on tactical pause (exacerbated by the twitching) whilst recording... well I better stop anyway, damn nerves ****** me off...
I've got the Adept, Infiltrator, and Sentinel, before I tackle Vanguard again... I should be able to give a good show.
Or rather... again... I better give a good show... XD

I'll fight that thing without Stasis, and with the Scimitar as my best friend!
...again

I don't really get what your aiming at, I was talking about the Vanguard, Stasis and insta kills with the Claymore against the mech (or the fall through the ground after Stasis stopped).  THAT is kind of unfair. Everything else beside a double Cain to the face is pretty much fair in my eyes. Well you could take its children hostage or something like that, that would be a cheap blow, but I don't think that's possible ^^
But that's my oppinion and I'm no one to talk since I used Stasis with my Vanguard too. And "fair" doesn't mean much in a fight against a robot twice your size and a MG and Rocketlauncher attached to its arms.

And don't call the mech retarded just because it's slow while you activate AR, it might have a chip that simulates feelings ;)

Have you survived all enemy waves? NO
Have you enjoyed the fight? Didn't last long enough

Difficulty level: Insanity
Shepard's class: Sentinel
Weapons used: Phalanx, Scimitar, Locust
Bonus power: Warp Ammo

What strategy have you used?
I blasted the first Project Guard flanking me on the right hand side in the face, then made my way around the edge, being chased the entire time. Eventually, made my way around to the corner with the couches and thought I was safe. Was blitzing shields with the Locust when I got staggered by a flash grenade/concussive blast/explosion....I couldn't correct myself in time to restart my Tech Armour, despite spamming the key to do it. I died soon after.:(

Charge, elbow and shotgun to the face, sometimes mixed up with the use of the Vindicator. I used the Needler to strip the mechs Shield and the Carnifex to drain his armor. I think I used the Neural Shock just once, so no heavy use of that. As I'm always trying: no HW and no Medigel.
Why the Vanguard again? I wanted to start a new ME1 run and ended up with the Vanguard because it's the class I used just once before in ME1.

@CaolIla - charging with the vindicator, what a suprise. Also, that last part when you shelter yourself from the heavy mech - gives new meaning to bullet-proof glass. Nice.

When I watched it to check the quality, I thought "Well thank god they spend the extra bucks to install that glass" and charging with the Vindicator was mainly because I was out of ammo with my Scimitar and had the Vindicator selected. Even more effective is charging with the Tempest, it just makes so much damage at close range. And thx, I had much more problems with the Scimitar run than with the Claymore run, maybe because I care less if I miss so I simply shoot a lot more, so finally finishing this fight was really rewarding ; )

Edit: and thx to Strive again, Shepards goggles were a kind present of him.
