I think people would have been a lot less irritated by the lack of any VS attention in any of the dlcs if only the cameo they got in the main game wasn't so gawdawful.  Bad scene.  Bad writing.  Bad dialogue (for both Shep and the VS)   It was clearly built from the ground up to make the meeting between the two as unpleasant as possible.

  And people who want that somehow rectified are "whiners"?  Really?
I mean, I personaly would not care if Ash/Kaidan was a companion in Arrival or any other dlc.  Might have been nice, sure, but that's not what's really important.  What I would have liked would be a final conversation with him/her, like what you can get from Liara at the end of LOTSB.  Something like that would likely have had a lot of fans feeling a lot better going into ME 3.
But wait, you say, the VS is guaranteed an important role in ME 3!  That's why they're not in this!  Yeah, the same excuse was used for Liara.  Who got a dlc that greatly improved upon the character change she went through.  And who's ending is exactly what I'm sure many a VS fan wanted.  It was for this fan.

But maybe the VS is getting something sooperdooperextraawesome, with awesome on the side too!  Uh huh.  Bioware's definition of "awesome" and my definition seems to have parted ways a while ago.  My definition of runs along the lines of character development, exploration, and choices mattering.  Lately Bioware's definition seems to run more along the lines of  "Death Blossom" attacks and mushroom clouds.

So in short, Bioware can talk all they want about "not forgetting" the VS, or "having something planned for them."  Talk is cheap.  Trust is a currency that's hard to earn and easily spent.   Show me I can trust you again, Bioware.

This is insane. There was never any talks of having the other LI's return during this DLC.

There could be a way to put them in (ie . special ops with shepard) but they'd have been killed by the doctor since the reapers only wanted Shepard alive.

Ashley or Kaidan served no purpose and would be KIA during the DLC...

Actually that's much more fun; I just changed my mind, lets whine that Bioware did not force your LI's to die in the new DLC.

As for LotSB... could you really not have put Liara in the DLC after the 4 comics lead in to this DLC?

you mean like you probably whined for your talimance? no but you can't tell me all the LI's are treated the same when two have bene left out of an entire game, with a small Cameo to hurt the player.

VS fans are funny when they're mad.  I've been waiting for Krogan romance options ever since I layed eyes on that sexy Wrex.  Then you find out they have four testicles making me want Wrex even more.  I figure when the option doesn't prevent its self it's becasue Wrex is to old.  But then ME2 comes around and Grunt is nice and young but yet no Krogan romance.

Until you've felt the pain that I've felt of not even getting to romance a certain specie(same could be said of Dragon Age and their anti Dwarf romance options when Dwarves are the best characters in the game) then you can complain about VS.

They even stated that a female Krogan was interested in Shepard but yet nothing ever came from it.

how many times have you seen someone say "omg, I hate that stupid Ashley/Kaidan for the way they treated me on Horizon"? I'm not sure about you all, but I've lost count. some of us, despite the horrible writing, despite the characters merging into one and acting more or less out of character - still like them. some of us were hoping for something some sort of resolution, anything to vindicate how VS was presented in ME2 compared to every single other character in the game. especially Liara who's been getting more spotlight then almost every other character, with possible exception of TIM.

and so far, all we have is empty promises and gloating from people who happen to be fans of other characters.

so please, forgive us for expressing some of the disappointment we're currently feeling.

This is probably the best post in the thread. 

Actually, little as I like how Jacob was implemented (so much potential wasted, I feel), I'd prefer if they improved on what they did with him rather than cutting him.  Part of that is a sense of solidarity, I admit.  I want all romances to be treated equally, as Bioware said they'd be, so that has to include Jacob.

Anyway, it certainly would be nice if we could stop slinging mud at each other.  Some of us are disappointed.  Others feel that we're foolish or demanding.   But ultimately we're all fans and we all want more Mass Effect.  The game universe has to be compelling to get us so passionate about it, right?  :happy:

why wasn't the vs in arrival because hacket said that it wasn't an alliance op but more important is the fact that said op was in batarian space and the alliance can't go into their space without causing a war imagine if the batarians found out that an alliance sanctioned soldier was part of an op that ended up with an exploding relay and one of there colonys getting wiped out.

I seem to recall a lot of Liara fans upset with they way she was handled in the game. They got a DLC to resolve the issue. Ashley/Kaidan fans get jobbed on Horizon and they get NO way to resolve anything. Damn right we're upset.
