Arrival is NOW available for PS3 on the Playstation Network. Thanks for being patient playstaion fans. :)

I took a nap when it still hadn't come out and woke up to the joy of it being on PSN.  Downloading now.  Thanks for putting this out.  <3 Lance Henriksen and been looking forward to this (not very far in the first game, but I know I'll still enjoy this new content!)  :)

According to the IGN preview, Arrival was supposed to be 5 missions long. I'm assuming this was a mistake, because I only played through 2...

Beat it in one hour on Veteran and I wasn't trying to rush through. While I did enjoy it and it was well done it is incredibly short for something I paid $7+ for. Once again I feel ripped off by Bioware's DLC, I need to stop buying it.

I downloaded the Arrival DLC last night and played it through.  Took me about 1 1/2 hours.  The concept is fantastic and it leads up very nicely to the upcoming Reaper invasion in ME3.

I noticed the the bad guys are much harder to deal with and the story is full of twists and turns.  I'll play it again and make different choices and see how it turns out.  This DLC is right up there with Shadow Broker, without the car chase though.

I played with my Vanguard character.

It was a good DLC but I expected better from BioWare. They said they listened to feedback...did they? Once again, they made a DLC that was too short, and they could have done so much more with the story and characters. Although the conversation with Harbinger was nice.
It was decent, but it seemed like BioWare didn't put much of an effort into it, at least when compared to the other DLCs. To sum it up, it was a missed oppurtunity.
Learn from this, BioWare.
- Make your DLCs longer.
- When there is potential for a great story, create one.
- Add some extras for after the DLC is over. LotSB and Kasumi did this brilliantly.
- Sections like the skycar chase and controlling a mech work well. Use them more often in your DLCs.
- I appreciate the new combat elements you added (stealth, wave battle, multi-pathing) but the enemies are still too generic.
- More boss fights.

Why did I post this here? Because I'm sure BioWare will see it. Overall, the ME2 DLC has been great, but there is definitely room for improvement.

You can learn more about Arrival and download the PC version HERE. Xbox 360 Arrival is available through Xbox Live. PS3 players will find Arrival on the Playstation Network.

Arrival was good, but to short, another run and gun quick mission, kinda dissapointed again!

I'll keep buying the DLC cause I love the franchise, but this was too short and, honestly, I didn't think it was THAT well done.

Sure its available; I even bought the points for it: it is now,and has been on my registered content for almost 48 hours.....BUT....how the effing hell do I download it!!??? Answers please bioware ....or my bloody money back.
P.S. this problem is not only mine--- look elsewhere on these forums, I am more than a little disappointed with the lack of response in regard to this so how about it bioware?

Though the "solo" aspect of the mission sounds like a good idea, it is not. No teammates means much fewer tactical options (especially on insanity where team positioning and additional powers is the key to victory). Does any Vangard out there ever tried to flank on his own ??? Not easy, hey !

I positively love the Mass Effect Franchise and, IMO, ME2 has one of the best, if the THE best, gameplay of all the video games I played so far. And LOTSB is just gorgeous. But I was a bit disappointed by The Arrival DLC : story has a lot of potential but falls short, and solo gameplay turns the very tactical Mass Effect 2 into a dumb shooter (ok, maybe not so dumb but you get the idea...).

I have a question.

I'll probably download Arrival tomorrow. I'm in the middle of a playthrough right now (my 3rd), am still recruiting followers, have not been to Ilos yet. At what point of the game should I do "Arrival"? Where would the story fit best/make sense?

For instance, should I do it when I'm done with everything except the end game? Does it matter at all?

Thanks,

@ Demonhoopa, do it after you complete the suicide mission aka jump into the Omega 4 Relay. It'll make much more sense = )

And to everyone else...I have a love and hate for this DLC..It couldve been so epic! The only thing I truly enjoyed about it was probably the last 10 minutes, from when you call for Joker and so on.....everything before that was just a waste of time. Blah.

This crap should have be free or included in ME3. Major story points should not be DLC...

I thought this DLC was really great. Right up there with Shadow Broker. It wasn't short. Took me roughly 90 minutes to finish this, which was around the same time as Shadow Broker.

Gamespot's review on Arrival pretty much sums it up for me. If this is what we are going to get in Mass Effect 3 then Bioware is truly going down the toilet.

Listened to feedback from whom? The least intelligent lowest common denominator who pine for Gears of War in Mass Effect universe? That anyone at Bioware would even have conceived of a DLC where you can't even use your squad or experience new interactions with your cast boggles my mind.

Gamestop had an absolutely devastating review of this DLC that was also extremely well-written (and the score was 5/10): http://www.gamespot....val/review.html

Mass Effect 2 is my favorite game in the last 10 years. That Bioware thought that this DLC was an appropriate "bridge" seriously raises concerns over what they're going to do with ME3, and where they buried the bodies of the fine devs who made Shadow Broker.
