I'm about halfway through the OC and wondered- If/when I get MotB and/or SoZ, will I be able to go back with new charcters and play through from the OC, or what...? Some people make it sound like they just add on to original game, some make it sound like it's a new game with new toons and all, and I just wanted to get that straight. ;P Sorry for the n00b question.

MotB continues the story from the OC. SoZ is an unrelated adventure with new characters (and a cameo or two), it's not designed to use the OC character, but start with new heroes.

A little more info. MotB is a continuation of the OC for the main PC (the shard-bearer). It is not a continuation for the rest of the OC companions. You get a selection of new companions in MotB.

SoZ is a storyline that takes place in the same world at the same time as MotB, so your main PC is busy with MotB in theory and isn't available for the SoZ storyline. It is not intended for high-level characters and unlike the OC and MotB, SoZ allows the creation of your own party members as well as having a few pre-built companions you meet along the way.

If you are willing to apply some modifications you can change some of this. My OC Makeover adds the SoZ party editor feature to the OC and characters created with it can be exported and reimported into any other campaigns that also use the party editor. My MotB Makeover adds the SoZ party editor into MotB so that you can import your player-created party members if you like, and the MotB Makeover also adds some additional content to MotB that allows re-meeting several (not all) of the OC companions and adding them to your party.

There is also another system available in the vault that allows companions to be exported and imported from one game to the next, but I haven't used that one myself.
