Alright here we go , we had a thread with the most sexiest Asari , and a lot of people wanted to recognize more than just Asari, so list your top 5 most loved and hated , please let's excuse Shep , and keep it to supporting cast members and they can be from the games , comics or novels , and give a little back ground why you hate or love them if possible.

Love:
Liara , she just seems like the perfect girl friend for Shep , intelligent , shy , strong , sexy , so lovable.
Garrus, cause he is a bro and a bad ass , what more do you have to say.
Grunt , same as Garrus and I always crack up @ the SM when Shep gives his speech and Grunt is so hyped up clashing his fist together , his banter is so cool also
Joker & EDI those two are just so funny , I had to list those two together I know that's over 5 but, I'm considering them two as one.
Kasumi , she is just so cute, and cool and also has cool banter.


Hated:
The Turain council member , that guy is an a** , I mean they all are but he is the worst
Donnel Udina , same as above , can't stand that guy
Vorcha, they are just foul looking and dumb
The smart a** salairian leader of the Eclipse on Omega, don't like him for his smart remarks
Wilson ,because he was a back stabber.

Most Loved Characters:

Saren: I like everything about him - his past, personality, opinions, motivations, and every scene he's ever been in from ME1 to Revelation and Evolution. He's one of my all-time favorite characters, and definitely my favorite videogame character. If I listed everything, this post would turn into a huge wall of text.

Kai Leng: He follows the pattern of other characters I like - badass assassin, escaped from prison, works for another favorite of mine and saved his life. His disgust for asari flirting is a plus.

Garrus: Loyal, agrees with my Shepards, has great personal missions (revenge, another pattern among my favorite characters), adorable romance, and his ME2 recruitment mission was like something out of an action movie.

TIM: He resurrected my Shepards, told Miranda not to put a control chip in them, and is the only one doing something to stop the Reapers. Plus, very intelligent guy with an interesting history.

Desolas: Saren's brother has a lot of the same qualities I like about Saren.

Most Hated Characters:

Ronald Taylor: Jacob's father, from his loyalty mission. No explanation needed.

Batarian slavers: I can't think of one character to represent this, so I'm grouping them all into one.

Morinth: Again, I don't think an explanation is needed.

Ashley: Her personality always annoyed me, and after I played through all of her dialogues, I was right in thinking that I wouldn't like anything about her (except for the fract that she didn't trap-romance my Shepard).

Liara: I never liked her personality either, but the thing that really made her hated was her trap romance. Never have I been so annoyed with a videogame character for reasons other than them being hard to beat in battle. She has a few redeeming qualities, but not enough to stop the hate.

The salarian selling games in Zakera Ward

I like Wrex because he never stopped believing in the Krogan. Most krogan gave up on their their race, assumed that all was lost. Even with Wrex's attitude in ME1, when you see him in ME2, I can tell he's really excited about this.

I like Liara and Mordin for similar reasons. They're both total badass scientist characters who I can look up to. They both have problems, but they've dealt with them. Dealing with Benezia, with Maelon lets me (as the player) really get to know the character.

I think Conrad Verner's antics are hilarious. I like how BioWare uses him to poke fun at the traditional RPG tropes. The salarian selling games on the Citadel in ME2 is also hilarious.

Dislike (disclaimer - I don't hate any of these characters at all, they're just not my favorites).

Jack - My problems with her are a. she gets no characterization other than 'cerberus is evil! pragia! pragia!' and b. she flat out tells you that she's a murderer. Somehow, because her backstory is super angsty, murder is supposed to be justified.

-Tank Grown Krogan : Hands down the best character of ME2 , I'd recruit him over Grunt any day of the week. He's got this bizarre take on life that ought to be explored.

-Kenneth & Gabby : Absolutely love them, great backs and forth; Funny , witty and genuine.

-Jack : Best intro ever , of course the game play doesn't really add up. I think that she's a really complex character with a lot of depth. I devour any info i get on her.

Khalisah Al-jilani : Because punching reporters never gets old.


Bottom 5

Well there's only 2 : Liara and ME2 Renegade Shep. I know we should keep Shep out of this , but the renegade dialogue makes no sense at all. ME1 was fine for renegades but the sequel ramped up the crazy and i feel like I'm playing a schizophrenic madman.

Liara for more or less the same reason. ME1 , loved her : Geeky , insecure , lots of interesting dialogue. ME2 , complete 180: Cold, calculating, revengeful . Then she's top manager at some secretive para military spy organization.

Yeah i know they explained it in the novels or whatever , but i don't buy it for a minute.

Yeah , I get what your saying her change didn't seem smooth , I understand what they were trying to do its like those 2 yrs she had to grow up , and changed because of the tragedy in her life, Shep buying the farm , her mother , Ferron and the Shadow Broker, her change in personality was just so radical , but then again it is a space opera

Thanks. I did read about that, but unfortunately, it was long after the trap happened. At least it can be prevented next time.

I only romanced her once in ME1 , in all my plays of the game once was enough, she was just  a B**** to me

Keep in mind you can also null out her romance in ME2 using a savefile editor. According to the documentation, you need to reimport (however, this can be bypassed by ticking off the recruited/loyal flags for each character, then setting the end-game state to completed, then you can quickly reimport).

You probably don't have Lair of the Shadow Broker (for obvious reasons), but if you do, I believe you can end the relationship in there, as well. I've never tried ending it so I'm not sure how that would work.

I play on Xbox and don't have the tech skill to use a savegame editor, so my only way out of the romance is NG+. And you're right, I don't have LotSB (or any DLC).

I can't say why others hate Liara, but for me, the romance trap and having to restart four months worth of playthrough was definitely the reason. I didn't like her character originally, but it was nowhere near hate. My opinion of her was actually starting to improve with what she said about Saren after Virmire, the fact that she saved Shepard and gave his/her body to Cerberus for resurrection, and her personality change in ME2. Then I didn't ignore her as much on my next ME1 playthrough and this happened.

Its not just the transition.

I'm fine with radical changes in personality under certain circumstances. Heck, they're aliens after all , why should we expect them to behave the same way or overcome emotional distress in the same manner as we do ? (If they have anything relating to what we experience as emotions) Their psychology can be worlds apart from ours. But they went with the "Information broker = Prothean researcher" thing.

I think I'm more upset at the missed opportunity to explore the Asari personality from that perspective.

Loved-

Wrex- He transcends the game. His character, his species, their plight is so well written and plus, he's a badass with a sense of humor. How can you not love this big lug?

Legion- A machine with a bit of a robo-crush on shepard. An advanced model that sheds new light on the 'evil' geth from ME1, and reminds you that life comes in every stripe, it's not all just black or white.

Mordin Solus- Speaks like the micro machines guy... on caffeine and crack. I'd love him to death JUST for the bit where he sings, but most of his dialogue is worth it on its own. Very interesting character.

The Quarians as a race- The displaced creators of the geth, so proud, so tragic, so shunned, yet still trying to make a go of it. I was very displeased when I found out you couldn't go back to the fleet for a visit after Tali's loyalty mission.

Captain David Anderson- I'm probably dating myself by this reference, but when I heard Goliath's voice, I was already hooked on the character. When he revealed he was one of the first human SPECTRE candidates, I liked him more. When he selflessly stepped aside so Shepard could do what needed to be done, I saluted. When he decked Udina to help him steal the Normandy, I cheered. When he accepted the role of councilor, I bowed. I hope he has *some* role to play in the finale, the old soldier still has value to the galaxy in my eyes.

Hated-

Ethan Jeong- Anyone who puts the 'bottom line' over the lives of struggling innocents is trash and deserves to be shot in the face.

Saren- I liked him for being a worthy advesary, I hated him because his reasons seemed selfish- He would turn his back on the galaxy to save his own skin, and before indoctrination proved himself ruthless, cold, and anti-human. Sovereign chose his vessel well, and it made me hate him. Well done.

the Smartass dirty cop from Noveria- I forget her name, and she rarely makes it through her opening threat before I drop her cold and dead to the deck, but that attitude and that mouth are worthy of some vitriol from me.

The Thorian- It's ancient. It's intelligent. It's patently wicked and treats people as playthings... it treated with Saren in exchange for a slave, but it wouldn't even consider parley with me. Guess it wasn't so smart afterall.

That Reporter who's name I always butcher so I won't bother trying it again... the one from Westerlund news- Obviously working for some slanted trash tabloid outfit, with a name that looks like it could have been peeled form the official Al-Qaeda roster itself, I NEVER hesitate to deck this ****, even in my paragon playthroughs with a Male Shepard. Some people just deserve what they have coming to them.

Honorable Mentions- Anoleis, the Turian Councilor, the Volus Ambassador (Wtf did I do to you, Vol-clan?) And the two NPC's from Thane's Loyalty mission- the bigot Turian Politician, and the hardline human mobster out to take him down... hard.
