Most loved characters

Kaidan Alenko — Nice, normal guy with relatively few daddy issues. "I walked it off a long time ago..."
Samara — Noble and serene, dedicated to justice. "I truly am at peace, thanks in no small part to you"
Morinth — Depraved and alluring, dedicated to desire. "Look into my eyes and tell me that you want me..."
Miranda Lawson — Strong and determined, makes up her own mind, keeps Shepard on his/her toes.
Mordin Solus — THIS is how you do a "comic relief" character. "Rest young mother, find your gods."

Honorable mention: Talitha (I Remember Me) — Just a heartbreaking story all the way around.

Most hated characters

Tali — I hate quasi-spunky damsel-in-distress characters and the bratty kids that lust after them.
Alestia Iallis (Noveria, Rift Station) — I knew I was going to have to kill her as soon as I spoke to her.
Rear Admiral Mikhailovich — Dude, I don't have time for your surprise inspections, the Normandy isn't an Alliance ship anymore. Eff off already.
Khalisah bint Sinan al-Jalani — Disingenuous assertions! Ka-pow!
Amanda Kenson — Latest in a long line of stupid human scientists, she really stands in for "Stupid Human Scientists" in general.

Dishonorable mention: Vorcha "gaaah, break fans!!!!"

Sticking with main(ish) characters, although most of them I feel pretty underwhelmed with, if not enough to stick in a 'hate' or 'dislike' list. This isn't necessarily based on their actions, since some (like Udina for example) are meant to be 'hate' figures, but based more on whether I found their characterisation satisfying or all it could have been. But nevertheless:

Top 5:

Kaidan -- omg a normal human! Heaven forfend there be normal humans in 2185.
Joker -- cracks me up, provides great light relief.
EDI -- likewise with Joker, hilarious banter between them; has the possibility to be a really interesting character in ME3.
Mordin -- a legend.
Saren -- was a great villain. Very disappointed there was no one who could anchor the plot like him in ME2.


Bottom 5:

Liara -- see below.
Tali -- see below.
Kelly -- I found her character completely pointless, there for utterly superfluous reasons, and mindless titillation for those who like that sort of thing. Her presence irked me.
Harbinger -- I just don't see the point. You'd be forgiven for thinking the baddies in ME2 were Blue Suns, Eclipse and Blood Pack. The weakest supposed 'big bad' in history.
Mack Chudson-Walters -- yeah, I'll leave that one to those who know.

I'm sad to have Tali and Liara in my bottom 5, but really it's based on where their characters went in ME2. I wasn't a huge fan of Liara in ME1 anyway, but she grated on me something terrible in 2 (and in LotSB -- it didn't redeem her for me like it did for some). Tali has become something of a giggling schoolgirl in 2, and I think it's a real shame that Shep doesn't really have the option to shape a good friendship with her, without it being either sexual or weird. That's a criticism of all the ME2 companions -- in that if you don't romance them, after a couple of conversations they stop you dead and you can't interact any more (apart from Mordin, who is excellent).

Most Loved (hard to choose only 5):

Garrus - All kinds of sexy, loyal, and adorable.
Aria - Powerful, stunningly gorgeous, super sexy voice.
All volus - These little dudes always make me laugh.
Wrex - All around awesome.
Jack - Love her straightforward manner.


Most Disliked:

Miranda - 'Woe is me, I'm perfect but am having a hard time with it'-type characters are just not for me. Her voice is annoying and her face is.. strange.
Asari Consort - Don't touch me.


Despised:

Liara - Incredibly annoying voice. Brings up Asari sex far too quickly. Too much emphasis on how 'young' and 'inexperienced' she is, not to mention the fainting. And then went after the body of a Shepard who hated her, which I can only interpret as a one-sided love on her part, which makes her even more repulsive. She's just.. eww. From what I've seen on YouTube, if LotSB Liara were the only one who existed, she wouldn't be half bad. However, she will forever be on the bottom of the list due to ME1.

Samara is another one with a good dialogue in the 'friend zone' 'buca. I love the fact that she doesn't want to sleep with Shepard, and I love the fact that even though she's the requisite 'hot blue alien chick', she's actually an austere, serene old lady.

Okay so I don't mind hating him...I mean you're free to hate whoever you want but just please spell his name right, it's KaidAn

And yes I'm a Kaidan fan through and through, and my canon Shepard is loyal to him

As for my list, 
Most loved from game are:
Kaidan: OH MY GOD A  NORMAL HUMAN! god forbids, kill it! yeah I love him and all his normalcy and the fact that I could walk down the street and find a guy like him.
Garrus: He's just awesome, he's like my Shepard's best friend, especially in ME2
Samara: her story just breaks my heart everytime..
Captain Anderson : I don't think I need to explain that
Mordin : What can I say? he's the very model of a scientist Salarian

On a side note, I like all squad mates but we only had to choose five so... 

Least liked: ( we established I don't hate anyone)
Khaliseh: I never punched her but god only knows I wanted to
tIM: His cyborg eyes freak me out every time. 
Shiala: please don't touch me
Pyro vorchas: die b*$ch!


I also like Kahlee Sanders, just because she's Anderson's boo and I think Anderson deserves happiness! I like all squadmates, and NPCs on the normandy : Engineer Adams, Pressley, Joker, Chakwas...

Well the ones she likes are easy - from the perspective of my paragon shepard:

Dr. Chakwas - not only an example or integrity but also one who never doubted Shepard. She won't ever give up on us, or leave Joker hanging.

Garrus - The one turian who did believe that Saren was a traitor when no one else did. With a nose for jusice, he understands vice and has a lot of practical sense. Unfortunately he's dead in my main game - used him as tech specialist.

Tali - While naive, she's also hopelessly cute. Not really a good leader but with spiri and initiative and completely devoted to her friends and the cause of good. I hope she gets together with Kal'regar. Though I must admit, while I have no wish of exposing her, my Shepard is at least a bit curious for that linking suits thing.

Miranda - At the start of Mass Effect 2 she was the enemy and in the first few hours of ME2 I'd have put her on the list of those I dislike most. My XO overtly spying for the Illusive Man. She stands to the experiments Cerberus conducted when asked, while my Shepard would blow up these bases any time again. Over the time on Normandy Miranda has proven herself though. She showed a human face in her loyality mission. She's proven herself as team leader, made mostly good suggestions. She admitted her personal doubts to Shepard and showed trust. And most importanlty during the suicide mission she deliberately rejected Tim and sided with Shepard. She earned my trust. I have no problem anymore leaving the Normandy in her hands when my shift is over. Request: Please give Miranda an actual combat suit with a sealed helmet, damn it!

Liara - The damsel in distress has grown up. True, some of the things she said on Illium frightened me, but she's loyal to her friends, and devoted to the good of the galaxy. She learned how to fight and holds a lot of power that she truly earned.


Unfortunately that was five.. apart from that, Councilor Anderson of course.


It's a bit more difficult with hated people - I don't really hate anyone:

Garrus: Where we could be without him?...
Tali: I haven't seen another character more sweet than she.
Wrex; Badass krogan, but nice to the bones, I would like to have him back in squad on ME3.
Grunt: What a cute little (?) krogan, Shep is his hero, so...it's impossible hate him.
Thane: I love him!
Legion: Who dances better than him?
Mordin: I love his personality, he's indeed the very model of a scientist salarian.
Samara: Strong sense of justice, I respect her very much.

Dislike:

Jacob: Seriously? some people really thinks that he's the replacement of Kaidan? HÁ!, what a boring character (the only funny: but the priiize!) you have failed Bioware, he will never be interesting enough.

Between like and dislike
I like Jack, but she's so damn annoying sometimes, so I'll have to say that I don't like her so much.
Liara; she's still a damsel in distress, despite that she's more tough now, so I'm between like and dislike her.

[Volus Warlord]

Love:

1.) Legion: Funny lines, nice dance. Also, a techie that can fight! It's a shame you don't acquire him earlier.
2.) Grunt: Just say renegade lines during his loyalty mission and you'll like him.
3.) TIM: A strong leader with unyielding dedication to his goals. None like him in the series.
4.) The Biotic God: Nuff said..
5.) Saren: A generally admirable villian. Intelligent, cunning, ruthless, and believes in his causes.

Hate:
1.) Jacob: Not really an interesting character in any way. Also, died constantly even on lower difficulties. Waste of medi-gel.
2.) Tali: Stupid and giddy.. just no fun, doesn't look cool or tough in the scenes that she is supposed to. Entirely overrated.
3.) Aria: Just too flat. Character-wise. Paranoid and apparently bad at it.
4.) Udina: They made him entirely hateworthy in ME2. No role whatsover other than to represent the jackassery of the Council.
5.) Liara: Why do people love her so much? Just.. why?

But in the forum I have read that plenty of times...so I was pointing out that he's not a Kaidan replacement (and that was really upsetting and disrespectful)

I think that there's no character equal to (I mean about personality) like Ash and Kai, the people who dislikes them is because they don't understand them (I understand Jacob, but I still don't like him enough, because I find him boring)...
