It's hard for me to say who I hate in ME games. Instead I will call those who I love more than others.
1) Jacod Taylor
2) Kaidan Alenko
3) Garrus Vakarian
4) Liara T'Sony
5) Urdnot Wrex
Well and others...

Jack, Anderson, Miranda, Aria, and Wrex.

I love them particularly because they are wrong at some point in the game, and that makes them three dimensional. Jack is wrong about Shepard, Anderson was wrong about Saren, Miranda is wrong about herself, and Wrex was wrong about his "lost cause" with his people. The exception is Aria, whom I like just because she is the closest female counterpart to Tony Montana I have ever seen.

I dont' really hate any character.

This.

But whatever.

Jesus, seriously. Can I resemble Hitler to a blackman or asian? Or you go crying then that I resemble them with a dictator? Or do you refer Hitler to Zaeed, should I get angry then that you refer a white male mercenary with a dictator?

Seriously, cut it out. Jacob only got the Chris Brown reference cause they are more look alike then Mel Gibson and Jacob...ffs people.

I'm pretty sure if I compared a white person to Hitler they would be offended, yes.

but I don't feel like derailing this thread with petty nonsense, good day!

Hate
Kaiden-He reminds me of ted from bill and ted movies

Dude, don't even get me started on the allure of military women. Here, at Whiteman, the most beautiful women, oddly enough, are in Security Forces (cops). The rest of them are in Medical, of course.

How was Anderson wrong about Saren? Was this in one of the books?

Top 5
Liara (ME1)- best character ever, most realistic too
Wrex- nobody beats a krogan battlemaster
Miranda- double agent, nuff said
Samara- great character background, though a little cold
Garrus- got to have a sniper

They happen to be the best squadmates too, other squadmates have either bad powers or character depth. Outside squadmates, nobody is worth talking to except Joker and Kelly.

He was wrong because he had been obsessed with Saren ever since the guy ruined his possibilities as a spectre. Just after you become a spectre, he tells you Saren's true intentions are to exterminate humanity. He is convinced Saren is going to attack the earth because he simply hates humans, even before knowing anything about the conduit or the reapers. His personal beef with Saren clouds his judgement.

Later in the game he changes his mind because he trusts Shepard, which is good, too. Characters that evolve are the best ones.

My favorite characters:

Garrus: A true bro. Garrus's evolution in ME2 is one of the best i've ever seen, and he's taken the position as my favorite video game character. Being a "good renegade" is something hard to pull off, but Garrus's character does it well.
Wrex: Nothing more needs to be said. Wrex is awesome.
The Biotic God: needs to be a squadmate in ME3
Warden Kuril: Yes, I know he's only a minor NPC, but i didn't pick his name for no reason. "Tough choices to protect the galaxy" is a noble idea, even if his methods are... uhh... 'questionable'. Still, his rationale is solid, and to me he's an awesome character.
Mordin: So many great lines. Plus, during his loyalty mission, discussing the morality of the genophage with him is fascinating.

Least Favorite Characters:

Ashley: xenophobic religious types don't really appeal to me
Kaiden: Boring. Nothing interesting about him.
Jacob: Same reasons as Kaiden. TIM and Udina may be characters I love to hate, but the fact that they evoke strong emotion from the player means that they're still well written. The 'bad' characters are the ones you want to avoid talking to, the ones that make you go 'eh'.
Samara: She's useful on the SM, but other than that, I don't like her personality much. Very little to interest me.

oh, I have to ask. how the hell is KaidAn anywhere near Ted from Bill and Ted? where is the resemblance coming from? I disagree with a lot of the reasons people post about disliking him (boring being at the top of the list, but YMMV I guess... personally I find Tali to be a more boring character), but that one just kinda made me go double "huh" ?

Shepard: Jacob, I think we need to talk about our relationship...

Jacob: WHAT?! YOU PUSHED FOR MORE AND NOW YOU BACK OFF?! HOW DARE YOU?!?!?!

Shepard: Aaah, don't hit me Chris Brown!  :crying:

**** Jacob Taylor. This assclown is a domestic violence case waiting
to happen. I would be scared to romance this guy in ME2. *shiver*

Your racism is staggering.

You think I'm trying to be racist because I compared Jacob's nasty, frightening attitude when you break up with his character in-game to that of a celebrity whose sole claim to fame is beating the hell out of Rihanna? That's... no, seriously, how in the hell is that racist? Do you think it's racist simply because those two coincidentally happen to be black? The only other celebrity I can think of when I think of the term "domestic violence" is Charlie Sheen, and if you're seriously going to insinuate that I should re-write my post and compare Jacob to him, or any other celebrity, simply because Sheen or anyone else is white, then how in the hell are you not being racist?

No, I seriously don't understand why you would think that; by your logic you could interpret any statement as racist. It makes no sense.

Where is the racism? Is it just cause he or she do not like Jacob and must be a racist there for or are you the one prejudicing?

All in all the humans aside the DLC recruits are all sick in the head one way or another.

umm...Kasumi is obsessed with a dead lover, and Zaeed is obsessed with revenge, yeah they have no issues, none whatsoever, all the while Jacob is merely reserved and dislikes when people pry into his private life.

as for racist, of all the people to compare him to - they picked Cris Brown (you know that guy who hit Rihana), and then blew Jacob's responce completely out of proportion?

I'm trying very hard not to say anything about the rest of the observations, but it does make me feel a bit better about my own angry outbursts.  compared to procyon, I'm positively mellow and loving.

I also do bar mitzvahs and birthdays.

There is a particularly interesting fic on ff.net that features this interesting character ... If you get 'Mack Chudson-Walters' I'm guessing you may have read it. If not, it's pretty darned funny.

He wasn't entirely wrong: Saren still saw humanity as a blight on the galaxy, and would just as soon eradicate them.

Anderson was only wrong in that Saren wasn't going to doom only humans.

Saren tells you in Virmire that he's trying to save organic life, possibly including humanity: He even says "Is submission not preferable to extinction?". He says this about organic life in general, but, in order to be consistent with that comment, we should assume Saren prefers humanity's submission rather than its total extinction. Despise or even hatred doesn't equal a desire for total extermination. His plan was forging an alliance with the reapers so both synthetics and organics could live.

Anderson believes Saren and his geth's true intentions are attacking human colonies and, eventually, earth. He says "I know Saren. He's working with the geth for one reason: to exterminate the entire human race".

So Anderson was wrong about Saren.

Also while thinking about that I just realized that Ashley also pisses me off hard for her racism and being a traitor by leaving me alone in ME 2 ....

Ashley is not a racist, and she never had any racist remarks. The aliens arn't Human, so that would make her a xenophobe.

And about her being a traitor, I'm surprised you don't see things her way; she hates Cerberus too.  You betrayed her.

You know that she quits Cerberus at the end of the game, right?  And that

Also, it's clear from the end of Revelation that Saren's plan was never to kill all humans. Hate doesn't mean he wants them all exterminated. He just doesn't want them to immediately have the kind of power that other species only earned after hundreds of years. His real grudge is with the Alliance and the Council.

Characters I dislike:

Udina. Cutthroat politician who doesn't hesitate to use you to get what he wants from the council and then throw you into the trash can.

The asari Consort. Let's be honest, she runs a luxury brothel. I understand it's her decision to do that job, but I don't have to like it.

Tali. I don't like how she always paints the quarians as victims ("The geth are the enemy! They want to destroy us!" No, Tali, actually you want to destroy them), when they just lost a war they began. Also maybe the fact that I like Legion so much biases me against her.

Samara/Morinth. I don't have anything against the characters by themselves. It's only that I feel they are out of place because they don't have anything to do with the story, nothing for them to feel related to me and vice versa. It they were given some connection to the rest of the story, I would like them a lot.

Favorites:

Wrex: He initially seems to be just another violence-loving Krogan, but after a while it becomes very obvious that he's possibly the most stable mind amongst the entirety of the Krogan population. And besides his logical outlook on life... he's just freakin' cool.

Mordin Solus: I'll be honest, with Mordin I didn't love the character so much as the writing of the character. His outlook on the Genophage, science, spirituality, and the universe as a whole was incredibly interesting. Characters like this are the primary reason I keep coming back to BioWare games.

Saren Arterius: Again, I like this guy simply because of the writing. Sure, we see in the novels that he was always a bit of a monster, but he's still one of the better villains I've ever encountered in a video game. His motivations were actually commendable: he wanted to try and save the galaxy. It's just that he went about it wrong and in so doing lost his mind. He's a villain, yes, but he's a tragic villain in my eyes and that makes him fascinating.

Ashley Williams: I know seemingly everybody on the internet hates her, but I freaking love this woman. She's possibly the most real character I've ever encountered in a game, which is evidenced by how polarizing she is among the fanbase. People like Garrus and Tali are hard not to love because they weren't written with any serious flaws. Ash has those flaws in that she sometimes comes off as a little too... direct. But hey, she's got her principles and she sticks to them. I have difficulty understanding how anybody who immediately writes her off as "a xenophobic, religious nut" can even exist in society if they can't handle people who have real character flaws or even slightly differing viewpoints. It just seems like all the world's atheists are writing her off the second she mentions that she believes in God and all the politically correct whistle-blowers are writing her off when she mentions that she is uneasy around aliens. But whatever. I like her character and that's good enough for me.

Least Favorites:

Batarians: Mother-frakking Batarians. I'm sure that I'm generalizing here, but BioWare has yet to show us a Batarian that isn't a total jerkass. Until I find a decent one, I'm just gonna keep filling 'em full of holes after what they did on Asteroid 57. Terrorist sons of...

Cerberus: I'm just applying a blanket statement to anyone that works for that group. TIM is a smug, secretive idiot who never tells us anything even though we're supposed to be the key to humanity's success (somehow?). Miranda is a self-absorbed, overbearing ice queen (I know she gets a little better through the course of a romance plot, but she's just too darn obnoxious with no real redeeming qualities besides maybe a bit of pity you might feel for her). And Jacob is... what the hell is Jacob? Even in the Shadow Broker's files on him, it says that he was only chosen as a "stabilizing element" to the crew. And that's really it. I'm not saying it's bad to have a character without major issues (quite the opposite) but we don't really get to see much in the way of character. The only person more brick-like in the entire game is... well, Shepard himself. So I guess I don't hate Jacob so much as I can't be bothered to care about him at all.

The Council: LISTEN TO THE MAN WHO SAVED THE CITADEL. Seriously, these guys are what I despise about politics: lots of talk, very little action, and a complete absence of common sense. Their own ship was literally bombarded with proof and they *still* won't listen to you. If they get into trouble again in the third game, then hell if I'm coming to save them. Maybe they can fight back with their excessive use of finger quotes.

EDIT: Holy crap, this is way longer than it looked in the text box. Oops.

... and perhaps I am too harsh to characters sometimes, but my frustration with all the Udina haters makes it hard not to be.  I don't mind if you hate him, I just wish you knew him first.
