Sorry to hurt your feelings, but you just suck. I was an infiltrator on insanity, and I survived on my first try. The YMIR mech almost got me, but common sense prevailed.

LOL, I panicked and ran into a corner of the room by the window, behind an L-shaped box. It was the PERFECT spot as all the dudes spawned from a distance. I was a Sentinel.

Guys I dunno if any of you had this problem but I survived all waves defeating the mech and all of its pitiful support. Now I am just walking around listening to this ridiculous epic music and no more enemies are coming. no doors are available for opening, so I'm just stuck.

Lol what a retarded thing to say for ME2 which is a non-competitive game. You must be so pr0 and everything, killing those NPCs.

As for the OP, a good strategy is to experiment a little bit with finding just the right cover. There's some points where enemies do not go so you are relatively safe in terms of being flanked. Keep at it though, I think it's one of the more interesting battles in ME2.

if you have it use the blackstorm heavy weapon i did and it destroyed everything minus the ymir mech

my biggest problem was not havving enough ammo with the mattock riffle which makes it easy to take ppl down cuz it apperas u stuck with whatever u left the batarian planet with. if u playing on insanity forget it. use a 2nd playthru character. MAKE sure u have barrier abilty it will save ur butt. the mattock riffle and the shock gun thing. shock ANY and all pyros thats ur quickest way 2 die leaving them allive, while holeing urself up on the right side and make sure u have enough HW ammo in the end to take out the mech

Pity, but at first I wasn't even sure of what was my real objective (the energy bar was confusing me, I though it was a bad thing) I'll try again with my infiltrator, the Widow will make them PAY.

when you fight you will notice that the reaper thing stuns you if you stay too close and as the bar goes up it will do more damage to you and when it is full you will lose no matter how far away you are also note that the bar goes up according to the number of enemies you have killed so there is no timer

I tried with the infiltrator on hardcore. Got to the final wave, tried to Cain the mech, but I didn't realise charging it up de-cloaks you. Was a very stupid mistake.

I completed it on Insanity with my infiltrator, switching to the Widow while cloaked to take down the mech


Has anyone got the "Covert Action" achievment?  I reached the doctor without attracting anyone's attention except for the varren, but no dice? 

as long as no batarians "see" you (meaning start attacking you) then you will get it and if you don't get then you either did something wrong or it is bugged

sometimes the enemies gets stuck in the room they jump down from but they can still be killed
