Yes. Hearing my Shepard say that no sacrifice was too big to save the galaxy "even if costs us half the galaxy, hell, even more!" I cried with pride.

The asteroid was like half an hour away from impact. How the hell were 300,000 Batarians supposed to evacuate themselves that quickly?

well I'm a paragon and I don't have any real problem with it, as long as it is not a sign of things to come regarding choices (looking at you DA2).

I went on a crusade against the illusion of choice in DA2. I can count myself among the most critical about it. Yet I am not worried.

But there is jst a DLC, which should not penalize players who will not get it. It's a DLC to indicate, to be witness, that's all it should be. It is there to give a taste on the hardness of the coming war against the reapers.

M3 will choices, don't worry.

However, sometimes, we was not always able to save everyone.

Yeah true ME has generally always been good with choices so no reason to worry (hopefully Image IPB).

I play an ultra paragon Shep and yep, it was a hell of a shock watching him fall from grace....'OH SH*T, SHEP JUST KILLED 300,000 CIVILIANS!!'...But as the shock wore off...LOVED IT!! :-). Just seemed perfect for a paragon Shep to have to face and deal with something like that, though I was a little disappointed at his lack of emotional response to what he did and how quickly he made the decision (though granted, he wasn't given much time to think about it), I just felt for someone so paragon he should have been somewhat more disturbed by the choice he had to make.

All in all though...Brilliant!...Thank you Bioware.

God forbid Bioware's favored blessed paladin children aren't coddled and catered to at every step of the game.

Stuck working late at the office on the day of DLC release and decided to check the forums and this is as far as I got before I just had to post a reply.

WTF are you on? Favored Paladins? Methinks thou dost protest too much.... ME2 was a pure Renegade fest unless you managed to have an ME1 save to import. If you didn't you got to play a renegade Shep result no options.

So much fail for so few words.

If anyone is coddled here its the renegades in ME2.

Yes, in the real world sometimes tough decisions have to be made. Being a "nice guy" doesn't mean that everything will be candy canes and gum drops. At least they gave you the option of trying to warn the colony. It would be beyond moronic to have any option that didn't include destroying the relay. I guess they could put it in there followed by the insta-fail screen, just for the "true" paragon players.

Was precisely my thought while Shep was trying to warn them.

I ignore your logic !  Bioware was sloppy and lazy and....

I can't finish that sentence. There is no way for the Batarians to move 300,00 people in less than an hour. But people continue to whine about it.  Why I will never know. They just need something to complain about I guess.

This event should fall solely in the lap of the good doctor. If anyone wanted to save the colony they got stopped at every turn.

Shep is betrayed and gets knocked out for what two days, and then wakes up with mere hours to destroy the relay? And on top of that, Shep then has the option to alert the colony and the attempt is stopped before anything can get through.

Nevertheless, I was also thinking about how many Human colonies were intentionally attacked and destroyed by Batarians.

Then again, my favored Shep is a Colonial War Hero... so my Shep's been in the thick of it against Batarians before. And there was that other asteroid incident... (with Balak being sent to Alliance Interrogators in all of my playthroughs regardless of either coercive leaning.)

Edit: and I forgot to add, the good doctor did plant that darned Reaper Indoctrination device in the middle of her base too.

I was wondering if someone has let the timer run out because in this review http://www.destructo...lc-197513.phtml the guy says that "there's a tiny something to make it worth your while" if you let it run out.

There's a video that shows what happens if you let the timer run out. You can YouTube it.

Yeah, it's much the Reapers invading and taking over. A "you screwed up" scenario.

haven't played Arrival yet, but I wikied it...

yea, I play paragon too, but I think I'm firmly in the paragade camp..... I'll stall the Reapers, but having living with blowing up an entire system and thousands of batarians will settle on my mind, and really, really give em the incentive to blow the Reapers to hell

For me, it wasn't the killing of the Batarians that bothered me as much as the way Shep just shrugged it off afterward with a "it was necessary". Yes, it was necessary, but given the fact that my Paragon Shepard let a terrorist go to save a few human scientists, he should have at least been guilt-ridden over what happened and the fact that he couldn't warn the Batarians in time, instead of just blowing it off and saying "I'll deal with it later". I didn't expect tears or anything, but at least beating himself up a little bit for not being able to save those 300,000 people.

there's no real renegade ending either

it's just an unavoidable event, that's what the reapers are: unavoidable

This mission is not about the moral of Shepard whether he is Paragon or renegrade, it is about delay the arrival and get wipe out by reapers in less than an hour.

Even my most renegrade Shepard feels killing those innocents in the system is just wrong, they just happen in the wrong place at the wrong time. Shepard will do exactly the same as to delay the arrival no matter where this relay take place, it just happen in Batarian colonized system....

Lair of the Shadow Broker had the same problem, but in reverse; at no point was I given the opportunity to be a complete dick to Liara (or anyone, for that matter).

There were a few Renegade options, but unfortunately they didn't have them as much in the Liara DLC. There was not one in Arrival. I was hoping for a chance to stop Dr. Kensan and maybe actually save her life, but unforunately I think Bioware rushed this DLC out the door. You could tell by looking at all the bugs when doing the shooting action through some of the mess halls.

That's because A, there is no saving anyone who has been indoctrinated and B, Arrival was a rushed, sloppy mess.

There's nothing wrong with a no win scenario, I sometimes grow tired of the I WIN buttons of charm and intimidate.
