Sacrificing the Council isn't technically canon because it does not apply to all Shepard's and all universes; similarly, letting Balak from Bring Down the Sky go isn't canon because it didn't happen for everyone. They are all canon, just not in the general sense. Anything that happens is canon, just not your canon. Anything that happens anywhere is canon, because it happened.

As a paragon player...ultra paragon at that...how did I get screwed in Arrival? In fact I thought it was brilliant, my Shep needed some tarnishing and it was a no win situation, he had to hit the switch...was a very good call on BW's behalf, I thought so anyway.

Poor, poor soul. You believe a slight dialouge change was brillant? The ability to turn a blind eye to things that shouldn't be ignored is a talent I lack. Though I suppose with this generation of gamers it seems the norm for many to accept less as more. A real pity how the times have changed.

Ooh, I missed out on a store discount and some cameos!  I'm so deprived!  Never mind how much easier I made all the fights for myself!  Never mind that I had the better lines and made the tactically smarter decisions!  Never mind that ME3 isn't even out yet so I can truly weigh my decisions!

This is what you can pretty much come to expect from bioware now. Linear stories. It happened to da2, it happened to me2, it's most likely going to happen to me3, which will be the last bioware game I purchase since i have other places to got to for my shooter/action fix rather than an rpg developer trying to change genres for money.

Easier fights? Sure the money helped early on but that was all really. Better dialouge? Well, I suppose if you went Paragon and actually got the majority of said dialouge/cameos that aren't already in default Shepard... It doesn't need to be out to understand that Bioware is a Beast of Habit. I would be most dissapointed in you if you didn't even have the slightest idea on what will most likely occure from Bioware's repeated history.
