As a homosexual playing Dragon Age 2, I've witnessed the worst
stereotype homosexual characters in this game. If you refused to make
your moves on a gay character then you are received rivalry points for
not wanting to be gay for the character.

This is completely wrong, homosexuals do not approach people and force
them to kiss us, the person that wrote this game should be fired for
stereotyping homosexuals in such a disrespectful way, as well as
creating the worst writing in characters, plot and everything else in
DA2.

I'm sure most people here are perfectly familiar with Mr. Gaider's passionate love for the gay community and how absurd this petition is. It does, however, deliver a bit of delicious irony in light of Mr. Gaider's rant about "privilege" in that male gamer thread. It would appear that no matter what Mr. Gaider does, someone will be pissed off about it, including people he was desperately trying to pander to. I warmly recommend that Mr. Gaider and his team simply stop trying to cater to people based on their genitals and/or genital preference and simply stick to making the best Dragon Age he can. There is only so much much marketing you can apply to game design before the end product becomes completely soulless. Am I wrong here?

edit: I forgot how poor reading comprehension and general awareness of the surrounding world is on these forums so I figured I should mention I did not create or sign or support the above petition.

That should pretty much shut the moron up who started the petition.

Mr. Gaider does not strike me as the pandering type. Nor do I think that the Doctors base their hiring policy on the random desires of kooks.

They're not catering to me and they haven't catered to me since KOTOR.

Your petition is pointless and, to be honest, ridiculous.

Reading comprehension fail? It's not my petition, I just saw it mentioned in some article.

Maybe Elton John should write the Bromances? No need to fire anyone...

People still think that guy was legit? he was probably trolling you guys

I do however believe David Gaider should be cut loose for different reasons (bad writing).

So far the responses are mostly as brainless as the call for a petition itself.

I think the all-bi option was implemented badly. I hope they do it better in the next game. Still:

/anti-sign.

I'm more than happy with Mr Gaider's work and the whole gay thing feels like some nutballs got their panties in a wad over nothing.

Keep the gay/bi characters, please, and anyone who doesnt like it can go play a different game.

Bioware should do as they damn well please and I'll buy their products if I like them and not if I dont.

"and Mike Laidlaw, between the both of them they destroyed the spirit of Dragon Age."

What's funny about this is Gaider is one of the people RESPONSIBLE for the 'spirit' of Dragon Age. L0LZ

Err, he openly admits to creating content to cater to audiences (particularly, audiences based on their sexual preference and genital make-up). That's pretty much pandering by definition.

No, I doubt he had anything to do with recycled maps, 'lightspawn' redesign, enemies exploding from being stabbed. and the various bugs.. so which of DA2's problems are you thinking of?

Back on topic, I just played through meeting Anders and recieved no, I repeat, No rivalry points form turning him down. My Hawke was even rude about it because I've been playing him with the rude conversation options.

Silly petition is silly.

Yes because someone who creates something cannot possibly ruin their own work (George Lucas).

And that still makes it their own work and their right to do so, fanboys have no say. Thank god.

It's a shame that acknowlging the existence of gay people is interpreted as "pandering." This really goes to what one of the developers, perhaps it was him, was saying with people of a majority group. They see themselves as the default and so everyone else must be getting special treatment when it's really just equal treatment.

Not that I think Bioware makes their personnel decisions based on internet petitions, but I'll add that I think Gaider and the rest of the DA2 team are awesome.

Reading a post prior to responding to it takes far too much time and energy.
