Characters without problems can give you quests too....

NPC: "Well I guess we could do something, if you need exp. What about.... collecting some flowers?"

MC: "We can do that. I suppose we shall be ambushed by darkspawn and abominations and bloodmages when we reach Kirkwall´s only flower meadow so we can even loot something!"

*MC and NPC go to the meadow, where they are jumped by a huuuuge amount of bloodmages, abominations and darkspawn. Some templars attack, too, just because F*CK IT. After the endless waves are defeated, a huge bloodmage-abominational darkspawntemplar appears*

Bloodmagedarkspawntemplarabomination: "HARHARHAR you have awakened me from my slumber! Now I shall go out and destroy the universe, and NOTHING shall stop me!!!!!!!!"

MC: "BUTTONAWESOME!!!!"

*after an epic fight [and several waves of spawning reinforcements] the monster is slain, the MC loots a legendary sword off its corps and MC + NPC go back to the NPC´s house to talk about it*

NPC: "See we don´t need personal problems or a traumatizing childhood to reach pointless filler combat."

MC: "Yea it was all right. Oh SH!T, we forgot the flowers......"

NPC: "Same again?"






See? It is not worse than most quests in DA2!

This is a freaking joke! David Gaider and his crew of people at Bioware are some of the few people in the gaming industry who actually fight for gay rights in video games. They have supported the GLBT community for years. Going as far back as Jade Empire and even KoTOR 1 where you can romance Juhani if you pick the right options.

As for why DA2 is upsetting people I'm not going to comment on that. I've spoken my mind about that particular topic time and time again elsewhere.

Still getting back on topic. I support Bioware and their fight to help us GLBT gamers. In DA:O and DA2 they had Gay/Lesbian romances. They had a brothel with both Gay/Lesbian, bisexuals and even Transgender people you could have your character sleep with for a fee.

So I say this is the worst move this person could have made. If they are actually a gay gamer at all.

A good point well made.

It is game companies job to troll players. Like it has been in movies, art, and books.


Edit: Weight on word "has", they don't want to do that anymore so artists are about the only group who troll the world, and thus rise discussion and awareness on controversial topics.

Fenris hates mages, but has respect for you. That is the difference. Anders has absolutely no respect for Merril.
And no, Anders cannot "bone" a Templar. Simply because you managed to learn their powers by some unknowable event does not make you part of their organization.

And back to the point of the thread, maybe he should be fired for writing half a damn story and say that it's ending is nice and clever because it hasn't been done in games, there's a reason for that gaider, it sucked, the biggest let down of the decade(so far) gaming wise. Was I upset about the Andermance no, was I mad that they slapped the bi label on all love interests simply to cater to everybody while saying there game is not for everybody yeah, plus the "community" in this forum are a funny bunch not seeing the irony in their posts, " the game is not yours and there for, they're not catering to you, but thank the maker they're pandering to us like were on our deathbed" by the way I'm bi, but do I think we should get special treatment in videogames, no not really, I see some of the pro-bi posts in the forums and they're just as ignorant and superficial as the anti-bi posts. I wouldn't mind bi characters if it was in their character, but it just felt too forced for just being tacked on.
