I find that the original argument / complaint is worded very much like a complaint made to an Emloyment Tribunal over sexual harrassment...

..... and then he said, he wont resist for much longer...
< and what happened then>
... I asked him what he meant, and I might have joked about how long till he goes mad....
... Then he lept upon me, and forced his tongue down my throat.... I couldnt breath, I thought he was going to hurt me.... hes a powerful mage you know... I didnt have a choice... he could have turned me into Cat Food!!!

So, how come there is all this big problem with Anders hitting on / flirting with a Male Hawke just once and then getting upset when hes turned down (which is -very much- in character for the depressive little mage) and yet I have never seen a single person complain that Isabela invites you into her bed about 5 minutes after you meet her (male -or- female Hawke)?

*Yes there is no "turn down + rivalry" option but shes a character who is likely to not take rejection so poorly

Good point, I mean, we are talking about a Mage who is having a little identity crisis, and ends up performing a <magic trick> at the end of the game. Moody doesnt begin cover it.

See what I did there, I covered up the spoiler about the boom boom, with <magic trick>.

I'd say Laidaw needs to step down as lead designer. Bring back the other guy. Or maybe make John Eplar or Stanley Woo the lead designer. Gaider can stay provided he is willing to take a few writing classes at a community college. Also, they need to see EA as a bad deal all the way around, quit and become their own company again.

You know, I wasnt going to do this... but I feel that its my civic duty to put my name forward for the Lead Designer post.

I have absolutely no experience in it what-so-ever, but I guarantee, I wont make the same mistakes my predecesser made.

I will make Dragon Age 3, only have Gay Romances with the Companions, if the Protagonist goes to the Hung Man on a Thursday Night.... which as we know, is Gay Friendly on that night - Optionally, we can have Bear Night on Friday too, bring your Dwarves.

The romance/love scenes will also use AVS, (Adult Verification System), where you enter your Credit Card details to confirm your age etc, and once verified, you get access to the uncensored adult content and sex scenes, this will be useful for the 'Hung Man' theme night, as for non 'AVS' verified members, the npc's will wear clothes, but for the 'AVS' verified members, the npc's will be optionally naked, and engaged in acts reserved for adults.

Some people simply do not grasp that fiction is NOT reality.

*headdesk* Really - what other response is there to 90% of threads these days? Gaider was hardly "pandering" to anyone either.

Quick comment about the original rant from the first post.

Damn, female sailors are not that overtly sexual too and nobody is complaining like that.

lady constance  - You are my PR Rep.
Its your Job, to get me more votes, and together, we shall rule the world.... bwha hahahaaaaa

Or... just impliment AVS in Dragon Age 3, and make it as dirty and perverted as we/I want, and impliment a few fixes to the issues that other people complain about... namely annoyance of trying to save the minority group at the end, only to have their leader turn into Mr Blobby, and then try to Blobby-Ize you.
Oh.. yes, and we will fix the romances thing too....
An indepth in-game survey will ascertain whether the player is Gay, Bi, or insane, and adapt the NPC's reactions to suit. Romances will even be accomplishable with the DLC Characters, even if they are strictly straight, through use of another DLC item, called Breath of the Rhohypnologist, a magical blend of spices and chemicals that makes the companion who drinks it, suddenly open to offers.

We will also cover up the bugs and glitches, by calling them Features.
eg - The Unlimited Gold and XP Glitch.
Oh... congratulations player, you discovered our secret leveling cheat. Good for you. :D

See how that puts a positive spin on us just not wanting to fix the bug in the first place.

David Gaider is a heck of a good writer and I'm glad he's part of Bioware. He knows his stuff.

He and his colleagues wrote an amazing story in DA:O and the story in DA II was very good. The only problem I had with DA II was the method the used to tell the story.

Mike is being slammed a little too hard for his involvement in DA2. Sure, the game has a staggering amount of issues (I will be the first to admit my dissatisfaction with the game overall), but have you considered that he accomplished all that he did in a year and a half?.

He did a phenomenal job considering deadline the deadline EA placed on his shoulders.

Edit - Wow, a bit embarrassing - I misread the title as another Mike Laidlaw bashing thread...awkward. I'll just quitely, uh, leave now.

I'm confused. If someone doesn't conform to your idea of what a homosexual should act like in the game they created, they should be fired?

I didn't see them make a statement about all homosexuals. All they did was say that this particular gay character gets a little miffed if his advances are rebuked.

Are you telling me that gay men never hit on other men that they think might also be gay, get rejected, and then have feelings about it?

I'm supposed to believe that in the above scenario, 100% of gay men would just shrug it off and not care at all?

A separate point: just because Hawke rejects Fenris, doesn't mean Hawke isn't gay. It just means he's not attracted to Fenris. In this context, I'd be very surprised if Fenris wasn't a little miffed about being rejected.

I'm sorry, but their depiction of one gay male in a game does not make a statement about EVERY gay male in the world. Please stop overreacting.

I warmly recommend that Mr. Gaider and his team simply stop trying to cater to people based on their genitals and/or genital preference and simply stick to making the best Dragon Age he can. There is only so much much marketing you can apply to game design before the end product becomes completely soulless. Am I wrong here?

So... catering to the gay community made DA2 souless and prevented it from being the best game it could be? Posted Image

Are people this desperate for a scapegoat?

Isabela is a tramp that doesn't have the ability to defeat the archdemon if it comes back so we don't need to rely on her at actually being stable enough to save the world. ;)

Waiting for the insecure drones to try to label that comment...

There'll probably be one of these for every big member of Bioware's staff in the near future.

Fire everyone! Fire them because they didn't create a video game that appeased my needs! -_-

@OP: If you actually think that someone deserves to lose their job over this, you should probably reevaluate your way of thinking.
