Yep - I had Leliana in my party and had her dexterity and cunning stats up high, using Olaf's Cheese knife and other special daggers with backstab and critical benefits. Later in the game whenever I played her she could inflict massive damage and would dodge a great deal of incoming damage. I think a well built rogue with proper stats is pretty deadly.
Guys, rogues are highest melee DPS in game

If you are in the little arc on the back side of the circle under the enemy you are "flanking" it and rogues will "backstab" which is just an automatic crit.

Ah! thanks Vol_tron. So without hotfix it's just STR (or CUN with Lethality). With hotfix it adds DEX modifier without lowering STR modifier. Got it!

Isn't dual daggers bugged somehow?
Leliana had dual daggers all the way through my run through, everntually using two special ones with high critical backstab damage. I had no problems at all. Using those two daggers with high dexterity/cunning makes for a pretty deadly melee attacker who dodges a boat load of damage.

Would lethality or whatever that dmg based on cunning thing is work on bows/crossbows?

Axe/dagger STR rogues have by far the highest DPS in the game. According to Discobird's calcuations over at the now dead forums, ~100 dps w/out backstabs, ~220 dps with backstab gear, and ~315 dps with momentum. Add in pinpoint striking so you can backstab from any angle for 15 seconds, and that's almost 5ks worth of damage.
A continuation of that thread is now up at http://social.biowar...66/index/223777

No prob Chzwz. Also Tonya, I believe that lethality does also apply to bows/crossbows, but I'm not 100% sure.

Im so glad to see someone beside myself realized this. Want to hear something funny, i realized ti with lelianna......
I realized early on that bows sucked and just stuck 2 daggers in her hands and started positioning here behind mobs, and was amazed at how fast they went down. I soon after got the plus crit/BS damage gloves and 2 daggers and was amazed at the difference, then i got lethality it was laughable. I cant wait to get momentum, though by the time i get that i may be using the assassin.
And im using a rogue that has 4 wasted ability point in ranged weps and she still kicks ass. Since she is a bard, i got the third tier bard talant which raises def/attack/crit/etc for the whole group which is another plus.
The only reason i didnt put the assassin in the group when i got him was ive got the lock pick skill maxed on lelianna and i cant give that up until the other guy lvls enough to get it for him.

Amazingly my duel wielding warrior with templer/reaver seems to be doing very well in damage, 90-110 damage on average normal hits with starfang and gorims sword(Duel striking, which prevent crits oh noes). Now we add momentem to even out our speeds, but now I have blood thirst which signifintly increases attack speed even more at cost of a little hp, nothing a regeneration wont solve. At level 18, though I was doing this damage closer to 16. And if I socket the weapons with grandmasters, I am sure I can easily break 400 dps without activating any non sustainted skills. Wonder how much more dps I could get by using skills... I am going to ponder that right now.
Only on hard right now, gotta increase the difficulty each play through =). But again, we're comparing the Warden to other characters. Try a fresh run through without using any point/skill/talent books and ignore the bonuses in the fade and you'll see the comparision a lot clearer.
