They do this because that is the only way they can get respect.
If there big and voilent, be crazy, make them know that messing with you can be much more costly than they may have thought.
If there verbal teases just go on an all out tirade about how there worried about the size of thier penis.
I was bullied in primary school.
Then when I got to middle school (year seven) I grew into my adult 6'1" after that no body wanted to mess with me they may say something an run but I saw them in the locker room and just put head to metal.
It's not nice and I am not proud.
It's simply how things work.
