Since bioware stated they may release new weapon packs, lets think up some neat weapons we would like to see!

Assault Rifles:

Arc Rifle: Similar in construction and design to the Arc Projector, though significantly weaker. Against shields and synthetic targets it is remarkably effective but suffers a lack of penetrating power against barriers and armor.  If fired at close enough range, it will arc between opponents.

Ricocchet rifle.
Instead of shaving off shards, pellets or rods of ammo from the block, this specialized rifle's unique firing mechanism shaves off a thin disk of ferrous tungsten from it's block. While it does not have the armor penetration capacity of other rifles, it's large striking surface area does impressive damage to shields and barriers, and has the unique ability to have it's rounds bounce off hard surfaces and potentially strike targets behind cover, the more force (aka closer) the weapon is to the ammunitions destination, the more possible ricocchets.

The Silencer
Not strictly an assault rifle, though too large to be a SMG, this rifle was designed by N7 technicians for quick, potent and quiet operations for Infiltrator teams.  Taking a great deal of the Mattok rifles philosophy in mind, for a highly accurate, high power rifle, they developed the Silencer.  Firing a teardrop shaped slug shaved from it's ammo block, combined with a silencing cone around it's barrel, the sound of fire is greatly diminished.  Infiltrators enjoy it's large firing capacity and high accuracy, finding it a suitible replacement for their SMG's.  Soldiers enjoy it for its compact nature, low weight, and silenced barrel, though it lacks the punch of larger rifles.

SMGS
Pepper Gun
A sort of cross between a pistol and a shotgun, this is a favorite of engineers and Sentinels who do not desire enemies to come close. Instead of firing solid rounds, it uses a unique ammo block and shaving mechanism that instead pulls a molten blob of metal then projects it in a  splashing cone of heat and shrapnel.  Extremely damaging to armor and barriers, it is easily repelled by shields.  One design flaw is it's high heat generation, but the manufacturer assures that new designs will resolve the issue

Mr. Fisty
Not actually a SMG, Mr. Fisty is a highly illigal modification to a standard omnitool, designed to take it's microfabricator and force it to release a burst of high temperature molten metal, plastic, and shrapnel from it's fabricator.  Frequently used by assassins and theives, it can be used with a personal cloak to deliver a fatal blow to an enemy. The heat generation is immense, and can only be used sparingly before the omnitool burns out.  It is immensely damaging to all forms of defense.

Shotguns:
"Shotgun Welcome-Wagon"
An old gun designed specifically for the First Contact War, when the weapon designers wrongfully imagined that turian hide could deflect rifle rounds.  The answer was the "Shotgun Welcome-Wagon",  which is only technically a shotgun because it can carry shotgun rounds, but was designed to fire micro-grenades at high distance and accuracy.  Upon joining the citidel races, such weapons were banned, though a few still survive in the hands of devoted collecters. Even fewer have been modified with modern heat sink technology and ammo technologies, making them the favored weapons of crime lords and very messy assasins. It is rumored that Krogan warmasters will offer one of their testicles for an example of this gun, though this has not been proven.

Pistols:

Whisper
Designed at the same time as the Silencer, the whisper was designed off of the M5-Phalanx model, though instead of the blu-laser sight, it sports a small dorsal scope and silencer. While it lacks the raw punch of it's cousin the Phalanx, it's improved firing rate, equal accuracy, and silent fire makes it an Infiltrators favorite.

Heavy Weapons

The Tornado
Heavy rapid fire weapons tended to go the way of the dodo when mass effect feilds and heat sinks became popular. Using large, cumbersome and heavy weapons to do a job that a smaller, more compact weapon could do quickly got old in military and paramilitary groups.  As a result, the heavy cannon technologies were placed on vehicle platforms, and it seemed like the days of the squad heavy cannon were numbered.  One weapons designer, on a drunken bet, went foreword and designed a personal heavy cannon to be used by cybernetically upgraded soldiers for the Alliance. The result became a bit of a curious interest in the company, and when it was debut in Badass weekly, their extranet servers were overwhelmed with orders.  The greatest advantage of this weapon is that it can take advantage of special ammunitions, while being extremely efficient with it's powercells.

"The Elevator".
Not strictly a heavy weapon, its a large mass effect bomb, designed to lower the gravity of a large area. Originally designed to assist trapped miners on high-G worlds, it's combat effectiveness was quickly realized when a group of Batarian slavers attacked a Mining Colony in Elcor space.
While no one knows what happened, mercenary groups began equipping heavy weapon teams with these devices. While they do no real damage, the weapon's mass effect feild is so strong that it will levitate anyone regardless of defenses.

nice

ok my turn:

bazooka:

unlike the missile launcher with the IFF system of seeking missiles, the Bazooka is a weapon that fires a high explosive rocket that will cause a great deal of damage in a small area of effect (less than cain more than grenade) the rocket is fast and the explosion is violent, it a FAF (fire and forget weapon) so it won't track targets so you better aim well, the weapon usually kills targets with one well placed hit, it is especially effective vs armored large targets like mechs and Krogan, but the more mobile the target the harder it is to hit it.

Beamer:

A highly effective sniper rifle that will fire a single burst of highly concentrated beam that will ignore shields, very effective vs organic targets, but less so against robotic and armored targets.
The weapon emits massive amounts of heat, and unlike the collector particle weapon, only one shot can be loaded into it at any given time.

how is the beamer, in effect, any different then the widow? You can one shot enemies on insane difficulty with it.

The bazooka kinda renderes the missile launcher useless, doesn't it?

Lets think of REAL ideas, not ones that are just remakes of others.

Barrel SMG:

A sub machine gun with a huge ammo hold (250) it is stable and has stamina, but as usual lacks the punch slower weapons have, unfortunately the weapon has extremely low accuracy so it is best used in close quarter combat, many human users of the weapon can't help but remember the "Tommy gun" the old gangs on earth used to employ which they saw in the old classic vids.

Anything just as long as it's smaller.. those oversized ME weapons are really beginning to look silly.

actually the widow is better vs armor.

so the beamer is better vs shields and barriers

and the bazzoka does not seek targets and has less ammo (so can't fire around corners) and is harder to handle and aim.:P

uhh i got one - assault cannon(heavy weapon) heavy duty suppression fire from 3 barrels at a slight angel, your aim is at best basic but it covers a huge area and eats heavy ammo like it's cake.
Edit : wait did i just quote myself.. that's weird Image IPB

Tri-revolver:

A human innovation, for the would be space cow boys the tri-revolver is a very interesting weapon, as the name suggests it can hold only 3 shots at a time, the weapon has one hell of a kick back and takes a while to reload but the huge amount of damage makes it well worth it, the weapon is accurate if you know how to aim, but the slow rate of fire and low ammo hold make it a weapon best suited for long range fights, the weapon also has a chance to knock targets back.
