Would make sense story wise. Hawke and the Warden are best off dead for DA3 IMO. So much story potential and meaning by taking that route.

Gonna have to say that I view things completely oppositely, MKD - unceremoniously killing off the Warden and Hawke offscreen wrecks boatloads of story potential and would kill any sense of connection a great many players have to the  plot.

Nope it makes it better. Having them both dead shows that both of them served their purposes and their usefulness ran out. Also, this signals that both of them got played and used. This also rightfully shatters the fanboys and fangirls notion that their PCs are the most powerful people in the series. Not to mention that it resolves all appearance issues for the two characters.

It contributes greatly to an overall villain at play. Both in terms of content and emotions.

Where are my glowy demon hands? I demand them!

Keep waiting. Origins never got the glowing blue eyes.
And to really make it hurt Anders ended up getting it in DA2!

Well Hawke can get those eyes too! Image IPB You just need to drink that potion of purity that adds darkspawn dmg and can be purchased from the black emporium. I'm sure someone could mod it to be a permanent effect.

No it doesn't, attributing off screen deaths to an antagonist will just make them a villian sue nobody will consider particularily credible.

And no, the 'Hero of Ferelden' that romanced Morrigan is the default origin. So where's the Warden? What's the natural progression of the relationship with Morrigan? Stepping through the Eluvian. It also accounts for why he dissappeared.

No. The "Hero of Ferelden" default didn't romance Morrigan. He did not step through the Eluvian. He didn't even go do Witch Hunt.

Where do you get this info?

The more a player has invested in their Warden play, the more I hope DA3 offhandedly mentions how said Warden died an embarrassingly humorous death and is now just the butt of terribad tavern jests.

And this from someone who according to Steam has spent at least 710 hours playing DA:O, DA:A, and related DLC (of course, Steam is convinced I've only spent 36 minutes playing DA2 since release, so grain of salt and all that, but I do believe the DA:O figure is disturbingly accurate).

I would be quite pleased if all the companions and other notables from DA:O/DA:A/DA2 showed up in DA3 and did not even give the precious Hero of Ferelden one whit of recollection.  The greater the rage the grander the Age!

Hawke, however, is the man and I'd have no qualms about her being included as a protagonist or companion in DA3.

My guess is that someone looked into their savegame's world vault.

Doesn't surprise me.
Default options like that are usually bland as hell, only covering the basics.
Look at the default Shepard history for ME2 which is just a bare-bones renegade run.

The Martyr is my default o' choice (though I've been resilient to using it as the background for my über-default "mage Garrett Hawke using preset the first" play—since I plan on rebooting every playthrough when and if The Patch™ hits I don't know why I just don't use The Martyr for his next reroll). Mainly because it's the only guaranteed way I have of getting Varric's last armor upgrade.

Plus, I like the idea of a true Hero of Ferelden who gave her life to defeat the archdemon, instead of all those selfish idjits who conned their way out of it (like my Warden).

Hopefully by the time I finish my DA:O/DA:A/DLC playthrough to my satisfaction, and decide to give an import a try, they will have resolved some of the import issues allegedly in play.

Once I finish DA2 to my satisfaction with The Martyr, I will undertake No Compromise, since I don't know if I could ever make some of the decisions implied in my own playthroughs of DA:O.

I also like the idea of my Warden being the Martyr but for some reason I have a feeling that the Dark Ritual may show itself in DA3.

I think they're working on the glowy demon hands too, they're in the game files apparently.

...What's the name of the mod?

I must have glowy eyes.

How can he be dead, someone mentions the Warden Commander just got back to Denerim (I think King Alistair when you meet him).

In game it looks like the
default was male cousland who performed the dark ritual with Morrigan.
So he lived.

Says who and where?

I read this academic article about how Alistair is the true protagonist of DA:O an idea I personally actually like.

*remembers darkspawn chronicles* Yeeeah I...kinda disagree.
