I recently installed Dragon Age 2 on my boyfriend's super amazing computer. My laptop can barely handle the game on the lowest graphical settings, so it runs extreeeeemely slowly. But on this new computer, the animation goes extremely fast. Too fast. He doesn't have Windows 7, so I cannot install DirectX 11 (at least not to my knowledge). Is there any way I can slow the animation speed or maybe fix this bug entirely?

First thing I would suggest is quantifying the problem. The gameplay in DA2 is very quick, so I would suggest you use a program like FRAPS... which will let you see (and record) the frames per second being displayed.

Of course, in the short term, if v-sync isn't turned on, do so... that will slow things down (or cap the max frame rate at about 60fps).

My boyfriend and several other people have suggested that I am just used to the animation going very slowly on my laptop. They say that it looks as if it is supposed to be moving that quickly. It just seems as if the animation of Hawke and the others running and fighting is sped up.
