Hey folks. First post on here. Did anybody else think that the music in Arrival was awesome? I don't recall hearing it in the main game, though I could just be forgetting. But if it is new, was it done by Jack Wall or Mansell? If the former, it just makes me more sad to see him go. If it's the latter, then I'm very excited for the soundtrack of ME3!

Either way, I thought it really set the atmosphere, especially on the second half of the mission, and it was one of my favorite parts of the addon.

MOD edit: Just going to ninja in the download link for the collective tracks from ME2: Arrival

Yea, I thought it was great too. I really, REALLY liked how they actually brought back ambient music like how it was in ME1. That's one of the things I really miss about ME1, there was always music playing, no matter what. Really sets the atmosphere, like you said.

Also, maybe you can find out who did the music by beating the game again and watching the credits, since it has all the DLC credits as well?

I like it, like some people said - it had some Blade Runner feeling to it, especially durning the flight with dr Kenson to Project Asteroid.

The music was new, and it was composed by neither Wall nor Mansell. It was composed by Sascha Dikiciyan & Cris Velasco, who also composed the music for the Kasumi DLC.

Thanks for the information. They did an awesome job!

I don't remember the Kasumi music sticking out as much, but I'll have to replay it sometime and compare.

Ambient music FTW! Makes me really miss ME1's music style in ME2.

I actually found the Arrival music less memorable than LotSB, Overlord, or even vanilla ME2. I like being able to pick out a clear melody in my video game soundtracks, and the music for Arrival was definitely more low-key ambience-like. Still good tracks, just not ones I'd replay over and over in my car like I do with the ME2 OST.

Thanks for sharing those links, I wonder if Bioware will officially release the soundtrack ast hey have done with the other DLCs? I don't mind paying for good music that will be played often.

Eeeeh. Music was okay in this. I actually liked how sad it sounded; unlike most people I thought it properly fit with Shepard having to kill people who can't help but being indoctrinated.

That being said, other than the beginning of and at 5:41, I found the soundtrack to be utterly forgettable- a problem with most of ME1's soundtrack.

I do like ME2's combat music more than ME1 in general. But the lack of ambient music really kills ME2. My favorite tracks in the first game were the themes for the Citadel Presidium and Wards, Novaria, the Normandy, and Ilos. Having just silence in the hub worlds in ME2 was a major disappointment. Sure that might be more "realistic," but effective use of music sets the mood.

I thought the music was great, it had that retro sci-fi feel that was in the ME1 soundtrack. The Mass Effect 2 soundtrack sounded too much like an orchestra IMO.

YES! It was like listening to ME's OST all over again (which is a huge plus in my book).

Decent, but lacking. It wasn't very memorable.

Overlord & LotSB's music > Arrival's.

Ok, but forgettable, more like ME1 quality. Nothing compared to Overlord's and LOTSB's music as well as ME2's soundtrack.

It was nice music, similar in tone to many parts of ME1. Since it seems they did the Kasumi music as well, I'm quite happy with that. The theme when you are in Hock's party reminds me of some music done by Juno Reactor way back, which was really nice as well.
