Hey guys,

I've tried playing Dragon Age: Origins on several operating systems (xp 64, vista 32 and 7 64) and keep getting the same problem. About 2 - 3 minutes into playing, the game will start to stutter/lockup for a few seconds, resume normal play then stutter/lockup again (over and over). This continues no matter how many restarts or fixes I try.

I've tried installing the patches, I've rolled back my drivers, I've updated my drivers, I've ended background programs/services, changed all the different video/audio options and still no luck.

I run a Core Duo 2.63
Nvidia GeForce 9600GT 512mb
4gb of RAM
Realtek High Definition Audio onboard sound
Standard IDE 350gb hard drive

I just finished Modern Warfare 2 on max settings without a problem, so I'm convinced its not my hardware/software.

Anyone have any ideas on what I could do?

Some people have mentioned performance increases by changing your CPU core affinity to a single core.

Your system specs are definitely legit, so there's something weird with how Dragon Age is interacting with your system. I don't think it'd be the onboard audio though.

If the CPU core affinity adjustment doesn't work, a more off the wall suggestion that some people have had work is disabling anti-virus software.
