We still love you, Bioware!

I miss having conversations with your companions regarding your relationships but I've come to understand that it was supposed to show up and it's a bug. Hope it will get fixed because I remember wondering why no one would talk about it on my first Hawke when I played through it blind. And I would like to get a bit more background with my siblings =)
All in all, I really love this game and I had a lot of fun with DA:O as well. Mostly I like that it isn't the same game again. It's the same way for me with ME and ME2. I play the game I feel like playing for the moment. Personally I hope that we get to continue with Hawke but I will get DA3 and ME3 and a bunch of dlc as well. So far I've had many happy hours with my bioware games.

Right. Because everyone who loves the game is a "blind fanboy". This is exactly what irks the hell out of me.<_<

Same.
Having said that, the definition of a fanboy is just someone who is male and really likes whatever the subject matter is, so I guess were all fanboys or fangirls.
The blindness is usually added by people who can't come up with a decent arguement, ala my Dad would own your Dad etc..

When Fox news accused Mass Effect of being a game about sex, our fans jumped to our defense. Now that some (not all, but some) fans have problems with Dragon Age II, they are jumping to let us know. Not because they hate BioWare, actually the opposite, because they care. They want BioWare to make great games and are letting us know that they have problems with Dragon Age II. They want us to make DA2 or DLC or other future games better. Yes there are a few trolls or troublemakers who are only trying to cause trouble, but these are very few. Most people are posting to let us know they liked the game and what they liked or disliked the game and what they didn't like and they're doing it becuase they care about BioWare or Dragon Age.
Taking fan reaction (the bad and the good) and passing it on to the Dev team is a core part of my job. I would much rather have fan feedback than silence. Sure, I would rather have everyone love everything we did and do nothing but tell me how awesome I am, but lets be realistic here. Even if you take BioWare's most successful games ever (arguably Baldur's Gate II or Mass Effect 2) there will still be people who didn't like them, or elements of them they didn't like. It is like asking what is the best ice cream or pizza topping. Not everyone likes the same things.
So, yes, some people are complaining and have problems. And some people enjoyed Dragon Age II and haven't had problems. I'm still here, reading, taking the feedback (negative and positive) and making sure that their voices are heard. We do this becuase we care about what our fans and customers think almost as much as they care about what we do.

You see, this is why I still intend to get Dragon Age 3 when it comes out, and why I'm looking forward to The Old Republic. I am glad that you guys do seem to care about what we have to say.
With most of your games I get way more than my money's worth, as I replay it several times with completely different characters. It's why Origins was so awesome for me. I played through as a Dalish Elf, A Dwarf Noble, a Mage, and a City Elf. All of which were very entertaining. This is why I like more options. I am fine with any changes to the UI or combat system, (or even graphics and art) but the thing that upset me was the lack of the little things that made me feel like I was a part of the world of Dragon Age Origins (not having a choice of origin, having to be human, no item descriptions). Anyway, this is the first game of yours that I haven't liked (although I've yet to get through the entire game), so I'm sure the next one I will like much better. I also wanted to say I appreciate you guys adding the dog to the Morrigan DLC in Origins.

The general consensus is that like most games, DA2 is flawed.
The general consensus is that DA2's flaws stick out like a sore thumb (bugs, recycled dungeons)
For anyone to dare claim that the majority are disappointed with this game, are blowing smoke out their rears, as are the people who won't acknowledge the game has flaws. Are the overly hardcore crowd potentially disappointed that they can't micromanage even the personalities of their companions? Probably. You could take a way a single stat from the "hardcore old school RPG crowd" and they'd cry murder. Are the people who expected "Origins 2" disappointed? They were disappointed before they knew anything about DA2 other then "it is Hawke's story."
But to say the majority of fans hate this game is an outright lie. And to act like that is the only opinion that matters, is another example of self entitled selfish BS.
Yes, the game is flawed. The story is not for everyone. I'd rather have a story that alienates people then one that's been done 50000000 times.
I hope Bioware keep going with Hawke's story and never do "Origins 2" because IMO it's a better path, it just needs more polish.

Oh Chris, you have the soul of a poet, and you always find the words to warm the ****les of my heart.
Seriously though, I would say this pretty much nails it. I have criticized DAII on the forums, because there is a lot about it I don't like, although it is definitely one of the better games I own - just not one of the better BW games. But I would not bother complaining about it if I thought that nobody is going to listen anyway. Posts like this just show me that you people do care about what your fans and customers think.
Also, even though it is a different context, when I was reading the title of this thread a certain Penny Arcade strip came to mind.
Edit: <_<. . .Really? C o c k l e s is a dirty word now? How you tolerate literal-minded profanity filters is beyond me.

It's like a athlete who always gets gold medals, then one championship he ends up getting bronze. That's what DA2 is: a Bronze medal, it's still an achievement many times better then most could do, but you still expected something better here and there.
For some reason though every critic on this forum seems to think that this thirth place is suddenly last place. Same goes for 'Professional' reviews giving 50s and 60s. the saddest example the 25 of some guy, who apparently puts DA2 somewhere between the 50 cents and the barbie games? I get this game is not what everyone expected from it, but judging it on it's merrits this game is still a 75-80 game at the VERY least.
And I've mentioned this so many times. DA: O had a load of weird bugs in it, most of them took several patches to fix and some are still there today. Saying that DA2 doesnt live up to Origins because of bugs is kind of silly.
good post . I would say DA2 is a silver , a very good game just a little behind DAO . I was very happy with it . I cant think of any other non bioware RPG thats better in recent years .
I definetly still love bioware .

definetly agree . 50 people crying on the forum using hyperbole and exaggeration were everything is the worst ever is not the majority view , everyone i know loves the game but prefers DAO.

Even all the sh!tty crap DLC's they unload, or poorly done games like DA2?
Or do you mean by support, to let them know to make better games?
I like bioware, I am looking forward to ME3, but if they start on the path of mediocrity like they did with DA2, I am not so sure about supporting them.

Speaking for myself... I love Biopware and their games. Been playing'em for a long time now after all, always safe in the belief that your games are of good quality. Therefore, when said quality drops because of a number of factors, one is certainly very worried that Bioware can no longer deliever as they have so far
But I shall not give up on Bioware yet, though I shall be cautious

Yeah, me too. I use a lot of video games as illustrations of mythological narratives and literary patterns in western culture. Makes my students wake up a bit when they realize it's not just about Shakespeare these days.

The first Bioware game I played was Jade Empire, which I bought on a complete whim and ended up completely hooked. Despite a few gripes with DA2, I am really enjoying it. Overall I love the games that Bioware create and I will always look forward to seeing more from them.

Count me in this group.
If Dragon Age 3 is as good as either (yes, I said either) Dragon Age 2 or Dragon Age: Origins (two very different games, I grant you), I'll be quite happy. I'm now in Act 3 of my second DA2 playthrough and enjoying it immensely. Nobody can spin a compelling yarn quite like Bioware.
