Can't hit the side of a barn at lower levels.  If you just dump into Dex, you are left with 11 STR.  I take those first 5 points and beef up STR to 16.  Level 2 points are put into DEX (18).  Level 3 points are split: STR (16+2) and DEX (18+1).  Level 4 points are put into DEX (22).

I'm equipping a grey iron dagger in the off-hand and either the Family Sword or Ser Gerland's sword in the main hand.  My rogue can't hit the side of a barn.  He misses a lot.  He doesn't even take his free backstab on stunned opponents -- sometimes.  It's quite frustrating.  This is all happening on Normal difficulty and I'm trying to solo.

What is wrong with what I'm doing?  I feel like all that is happening is my guy chugs lesser health potions and gets lucky.

**** Update ****

Started a new game and dumped all points into DEX.  Know what I discovered?  The rogue class still misses on many attacks and does terrible damage.  Howe soldiers act like rogues.  They are able to use the dirty fighting talent against you.  The same thing is true of Genlocks which use both berserk (I think) and dirty fighting.  I'm beginning to think the only class worth anything is the warrior.  It's the only class that can hold it's own.

Mages can hold their on also when they are Arcane Warriors. A Mage Arcane Warrior makes a better Warrior overall in fact. Not sure what your doing with the rogue, try putting points into cunning as well. Your build seems to right, theres no way you should miss that much.

Cunning won't help with hitting, it affects armor pen so don't do that. You shouldn't be missing that much, if you put points into dex you still gain attack so you don't really need to put points into str, not at all above 22, 16-18 should do till you go through the mage tower and the fade. I never had that much problem with hitting as a rogue, do you position yourself behind the enemy?
