who cares honestly. That entire sequence is stupid as hell. I don't get this JRPG direction they're taking this game. Blood Mages impaling themselves with their staffs. Hawke getting impaled and held in mid-air by the Arishok while he bleeds out. And then it all comes to a head with the absolutey idiotic flying Meredith. Straight out of some half-baked anime.

BioWare turned their "dark fantasy" into a cartoon.

Straight out of the mouth of an exaggerating dwarf, you mean.;)

I don't get peoples' problem with the human reaper. Why else would the collectors have abducted so many humans otherwise? Just to be evil?

I think that's the problem. The human reaper is made to satisfy the events of the game. It exists because the plot is nonsensical.

Also, the original artwork was much more interesting but they made some sort of terminator eye-beam creature to satisfy the need for a boss fight.

You're saying that Verric narrated Hawke running around for 15 minutes, kiting the Arishok? If that sequence was an exaggeration then Hawke would have been, you know, exaggerated.

Yes, in case you didn't notice we played the story of Hawke as s/he rose to power narrated by Varric.

And Varric exaggerates some things, like, oh for example the fight with Meredith, Hawke's fighting in general, those ****ing awesome jumping strikes with sords Warriors make, those jaguar leaps Rogues make.
Just sayin'.

It's what you get for getting rivalry points with Varric. "And then hawke ran screaming like a little girl, until the Arishok died by heart attack"

Did you read the manga? Because around the time the anime ends, someone opens the superpower dispenser floodgate, and a few volumes later, there's more demons in every single midland village then there are in the entire free marches :|
(It's still awesome, just kind of weird)

There was nothing dark fantasy about that clip. Also, if something is called 'Merlin,' it's probably Arthurian fantasy.

I continued reading the manga after the anime ends. It was bloody awesome for quite a while but I stopped at around volume 28 i think when the plot got too draggy.

I personally thought the sword was ugh. If its fifteen feet long then an old woman should not be lugging it around flying through the air etc. Although ya the statues were a nice touch. I did enjoy that.

I thought the meredith fight in the end was strange to say the least.. but hey what are you going to do?

As for me2's boss fight.. I liked it. It kinda made sense for the story. Honestly I don't think it should have been a fight though.

I agree the original artwork was much better, but I disagree about the plot being weird. With no vanguard left to open their relay, they tried a far less stealthy and more dangerous plan in trying to make a new vanguard and then resume working for their shortcut.

They should've made the final boss an immobile target, with that artwork. Would've been great. That baby looks a ton more menacing than terminator.

I don't get what these links are supposed to mean but the Berserk anime kicks so damn much butt.

The problem is, the whole idea of "tactical team combat" (which I consider completely ill suited for an rpg) requires bosses to either have superpowers, summon minions, or both :|

Here I played that just last night. This time I sided with the Templars so after beating that beacon of mage reason Orsino I thought I might not have to fight Meredith. I was pissed off at Cullen, here he buts in and looks like he is sticking up for me and he says. "We were not going to kill the champion only arrest her!" wtf? Thanks ******.

The one thing I do like about the last battle was the animation of the statues, it's just like something out of those old Sindbad movies with stop action motion by Ray Harryhausen.
