I got a lot of use out of this feature in DAO. If I didn't want to be nagged by certain quest markers constantly taunting me, or if I found the DLC underwhelming and didn't want it in my game, it was great to be able to just disable it for a playthrough.

In the case of Sebastian's DLC and Dog, I played with them installed right from the get-go. I would like to see it from a view without these in the way as there are a few elements that are changed to accomodate them, and if I have no intention of using the features I would like the oppurtunity to temporarily disable them in game.

I can see no way to do so - certainly not an intuitive way on par with how DA:O worked. Is there any way at all? If not, PLEASE put this in the next patch! I don't even know how to uninstall it altogether, even for a little while. I like poking around different areas of the game to see how they change.

TL;DR: Is there any way DLC can be disabled in Dragon Age II...?

Nothing is changed to accommodate Sebastian and Dog, they are merely added. You can ignore them and they won't affect your game one way or another.

I don't just want to see what changed (though I hear some of the Examines in the house change), I actually want to remove some from game so I'm not nagged by them with them in my journal.

Kind of - the problem is if you had DLC enabled in a save, and disable it the save will not load (there is no force load option like Origins) - you could edit your save to remove the DLC requirement from it... but that will likely cause all kinds of issues.

Anyhow, if you still want to know how to do it:

Browse to: C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Dragon Age 2\\addins
Or if you are on 32bit Windows: C:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age 2\\addins

You will find various folders:

da2_prc_seb = The Exiled Prince (Sebastian)
da2_prc_one = The Black Emporium (Dog)
da2_pro_col = Signature Edition Items

To disable you can either:

1) Move the folders from of the addins directory (e.g. to your Desktop).
2) Edit the manifest.xml of each and change Enabled="1" to Enabled="0"
