Wow. I have one response to that...
EPIC FAIL, I'd prepare a flame shield if I were you.

Hang on, let me get this straight, you're saying that EA is a good thing for Bioware despite all the promo DLC, multiple accounts you have to set up, screwing up CE's and rudshing deadlines to name a few, because they put their logo inside a game specific symbol that probably came from one of the games designers in the first place.
Wow. I have one response to that...

I appreciate your concern but i need not a flame shield, for i have facts and truth on my side.
Also, the promo DLC was pretty cool. All of the Dr Pepper items are available for fee anyway.
You only need an EA account and a BioWare account. Each are easily created in-game, and the process of linking them is hardly rocket science.
Mass Effect 2 was delayed, if memory serves. So i'm not sure that you can really accuse EA of forcefully rushing things. If a game isn't ready, it's up to BioWare, the developers, to let EA, the publishers, know.
I've clearly explained how their logo is symbolic of something far greater, so i wont go into that again.

I honestly didn't notice the logo change until this thread. I knew it was EA. The main logo is the big EA letters, not the circle. You'd have to be a complete and total idiot to be thrown off by a swishy circle. If you had trouble with this, please go seek professorial help. Seriously. Do us all a favor.
My, aren't you pleasant. If you can't be civil, i'd appreciate it if you would take your vitriol into another discussion.
You are not the first person in this thread to be unnecessarily hostile towards me and my thoughts. I hope that my restraint and politeness even in the face of such scorn conveys that my intentions are just and true.
I'm not a "troll". I'm a fan. A fan who is sick of seeing other fans overlook EA's contribution to Mass Effect.

Why thank you
You honestly expected everyone to love EA over a logo? EA is very easily one f the worst game publishers ever. They butchered a wonderful game like sims 2 almost to an unplayable state. Mass Effect 2 felt rushed in certin places. And Dragon Age 2 failed. Game publishers only distribute the game. Mass Effect is the masterpiece of Bioware and only Bioware, and EA doesnt have the decency to make the bioware logo equal in size to theres? Please, enlighten me on how a logo fixes this.

The Sims 2 was developed by Maxis, not EA.
Like you say, Mass Effect is the masterpiece of BioWare and only BioWare... unless of course you don't like something about it, in which case EA are to blame.
Maybe you could enlighten me as to how that works?
I've already explained what EA's willingness to alter their logo for each franchise represents.

EA is known to rush games. All of mass effects planet scanning quests felt rushed. EA chooses the release dates. And if you've ever played sims 2, there was this whole securom issue. EA choose to use securom. Some people couldn't play the game.
EA didn't alter the logo. EA told the graphics designers at Bioware to change it. EA markets the game. They don't give a damn about content.

Well surely, the Sims 2 is the masterpiece of Maxis and only Maxis then?
And i'm going to have to strongly disagree with you on thise one, Madame. The N7 missions in Mass Effect 2 were generally fantastic. They were fairly short, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Each one felt distinct, and as such was satisfying. Far better than the Alliance missions from ME1.
All evidence points to the opposite. EA give many damns about the developers product, which is why they allow their logo to be defiled to fit the artwork. This makes their logo less-instantly recognisable, which for them is a bad thing, in exchange for making the game casings look awesome, which is a good thing for BioWare.

There logo was "Defiled" for the sake of mass effect? The changed the color of the circle and added a line. If you can't read the huge EA letters, i feel very, very, very sad for you.

You don't understand.
The whole point of a logo is brand recognition. Pepsi don't alter their logo for each of their variety of soft-drink. The Mercedes star on my CLK 500 cabriolet sport is the same as the CLS 63 AMG.
Why? To make them instantly recognisable.
You're not appreciating the sacrifice EA are making in altering their logo for each franchise. It is actually unprecedented for a company to be doing this.

That's not the same, and i think you know it. Pepsi had a logo, which they changed and now appears on all varieties of Pepsi. Pepsi, Pepsi Max etc.
EA have a logo, just as Pepsi do, but EA allow it to be altered slightly for each game it appears on. Severing brand recognition somewhat.
Just in case you genuinely don't understand why your comparison is wrong, i'll try to explain in simple terms.
Imagine that Pepsi were a game producer. Their old logo would have appeared on all the games they published before the logo change, and their new logo would appear on subsequent releases. It's nowhere near the same as EA's method.

its a color change! that one item does not overturn every bad thing they've done.

No you haven't. It's always red and blue. You're probably mistaking the background as part of the logo.
And it's not a colour change. The EA logo on Dragon Age is inside a blood dragon, significantly altering the shape. It's an entirely different logo.
And to those of you calling me a "troll"... take a look at the badges under my avatar picture. I'm a fan of BioWare's games, and have a right to voice my opinion without being cyber-bullied. I have been nothing but cordial, even to my detractors, so please show a little common decency.

And OP, I think you're confusing EA's logo with what EA chooses to superimpose their logo on. Their logo is always the same, whether it's on top of a blood dragon or a mass relay or what have you.

The EA logo is always a circle, and The EA part is always there. The circle color or pattern doesnt change the entire logo. The EA is the main part.

No, it isn't. This is the EA logo.

The circle is as much a part of the logo as the two letters.

Yes, but you can just as easily see this is the EA logo.

Well now, that's interesting. Because if you go to EA's website, not only is their logo inset in a solid blue circle at the top of the page, but the EA is without any background at the bottom of the page. So for that "being as much a part of the logo as the two letters", they sure seem to change it (and get rid of it altogether) an awful lot. The "EA" is the only part that looks the same on every piece of marketing they've ever produced ever.

I also don't see any circle under the logo on their official corporate headquarters either. Curious...
