I've noticed that accusations of trolling are common on this forum. All you have to do is make a comment that isn't in complete agreeance with some vocal minority (such as EA haters) and you will be branded a troll. It's a tactic employed by intellectually stunted forum-goers the internet over, and you should endeavor to be above it, Ty.

I couldn't be bullied out of the forum when i said that Miranda shouldn't be given armour (even though several of you took to racist commentary), and i will not be bullied out of the forum now.

Take your mob-rules attitude somewhere else please.

EA sacrifice brand recognition for the sake of the artistic integrity of BioWare's product. I wanted to bring this observation to the vocal minority that have an irrational hatred of EA's involvement in Mass Effect.

Fair enough. But what do you mean racist commentary?

You had to know people would jump on you just for stating approval for E.A. Not that they should.. but you gave people a lot of firepower in your main post. I'm not trying to bully away it's just hard to take this one concept of E.A.'s logo making up for their lack in other departments seriously.

Oh, a few months ago a group of posters made some derogatory remarks about my being Russian. I stopped posting for a while as a result, but i didn't mean to imply that anyone here had crossed that line. You're all been positively gentlemany in comparison.

You can see that i have registered every BioWare game to my account right? Having an opinion hardly makes me a troll... especially considering how polite i have been. If i wanted to "rile people up" or whatever it is trolls do, i doubt i'd have been so restrained.

It is the nonsense in your posts that gives away your trolling. Although I have to give it to ya, you have been very subtle with the nonsense, so as a result a lot of people have taken the bait and tried hard to convince you otherwise. After numerous replies from unaware forum members, you tried to defend your nonsense claims with more nonsense, again with a touch of subtlety. That offcourse created more responses in wich people tired even harder to convince you that you make no sense whatsoever.
You have created an argument based on nonsense, wich is ongoing still and gaining popularity, thus making this thread into a succsessful troll thread.
Now that you have been exposed to the public eye...

I didn't know that; i'm not as well-versed in trolling as you seem to be, so perhaps you're the troll here?

Everything i have said makes sense. EA are the only game publisher to change their logo - their image - for each game they publish. Whether you accept this or not, that does show a lot of respect towards the developers and their vision for the product.

It is possible for two people to disagree on something, you know. It doesn't automatically make one of the disputing parties a "troll".

I would, but it's quite important to me that i not have the stigma of this misplaced "troll" label follow me around. With the build up to Mass Effect 3 starting in earnest, i'm hoping to be more involved in this forum over the coming months, so i'm sure you can see why i don't wish to be thought of as a trouble maker.

If you were to admit the error of your ways, and perhaps apologise, we could consider the matter closed. Otherwise, when you call me a "troll" i am going to defend myself.

Is that so unreasonable?

Blacqout, I think it was quite brave of you to openly admit that you like EA on a BioWare board. For that, I think you deserve a free copy of ME3 or something similarly compensatory. My personal opinion is that EA isn't all bad. The word "corporation" is used a lot as if it connotes something bad, which I think is really unfortunate. Pfizer is a corporation, and it makes pharmaceuticals that save lives. Don't for a minute think I'm saying corporations are above reproof - they are a human institution, and like any human institution, from governments to (unfortunately) religious organizations, they are flawed. My point is that just because EA is a corporation, doesn't mean it's evil. It's a mix of good and bad. Frankly, I think ME2 was a leap in quality over ME1, so I don't have anything to complain about against EA.

Anyway, it's nice that there's someone on the board willing to vocalize the truth that EA isn't necessarily bad.

Okay, I will admit that imbuing your logo that fits the theme of the game is impressive.

But tying that to the preservation of artistic integrity seems a little bit far fetched.

Sorry if I'm skeptical, but these unique logos probably don't even take more than 20 minutes to make and probably cost less than a coffee and doughnut. I'm more likely to attribute their act of incorporating a gaming theme due to brand differentiation than respect for artistry.

Now, its probably a prudent thing that any publisher as large as EA at least show some respect for developers under them. That I'll take. But a logo... its like weighing a penny against all the other big cash decisions that goes into publishing a game. I'll sooner respect EA for giving their studios autonomy to craft quality games than to put any weighting on a logo. How the corporation treats its studios and how it makes its logos unique doesn't exactly go hand in hand... and I just cannot imagine how.
