Are you kidding me? everytime those two swords come up i could be facing hordes of darkspawn of bandits, whenever old tegrin pops up i look up skyward and say a quick thank you.

This is kinda funny. I too, through other play throughs was sick of him. Now, I can't get the spamming dwarf and his Ox lover to spawn. I read he sells the boots Leliana likes and I'm guessing that is why she won't get kissy face with me, because I haven't bought them yet. Her approval is high, but I'm in the friend zone lol. I read he sells the shoes she likes. Is this true? If so, why won't this dorf spawn now that I actually need him!!!!?? There a point in the game he goes bye bye? He seemed to exist throughout MOST the game other times.

Well I think he SHOULD deactivate once you tell him that Orzammer is open for business..because he pops up far too often...and IS annoying I agree. lol    Once I've gotten specific things from his shop, I'm definitely not interested in being waylaid by him every time I travel, and towards endgame it seems to happen more often, I suppose because all the available encounters have been done.

I wonder if Bioware will ever do something about this, or better yet, please..someone make a mod to deactivate him...lol

That the treacherous road or treacherous forest.. there's about 5 shades if I remember right, and one of them is a "boss" ..red health bar.   Yeah I only ever got that once or twice and got massacred..lol.

I found he spawns most often on the road below Lothering..and sometimes up the left side..near Redcliffe and such.

I no longer see Orz on map:( I already did it and the return, so guess it's gone. I just spent several minutes going many places, he never spawned. Anyone know if there's somewhere else to buy the shoe gift Lel likes? It wouldn't be a big deal, but this is my last play through for at least a long time and I was wanting to check out her romance this time through.

I encountered him sixty times in two hours.

He's a pain in the rear, but currently, I rather meet him than another "road spam" event that I just can't beat (yet). Three rangers with what I assume is shattering shot, and three warriors. I have tried every single companion (except Oghren) to beat these but they hand me my bum every damn time.
So I'll take the annoying dwarf anytime - until I have disposed of the six human vermins.

Hes ok once you buy all that you need (gifts. etc etc) then you start getting annoyed.

I'd be interested to know if this works for you...not entirely sure if I did it right.

EDIT: what I mean by that is that "Need Tegrin" should work right away.
But "No Tegrin" is slightly more complicated as it doesn't touch the other random encounters. So...I'm just wondering if the dwarf ever pops up in your game again if you use it. That means I missed a place to deactivate him.

Both are safe for your game. They're easy to delete/uninstall if you decide to restore back to default random encounters. (Tegrin's stock never seems to change either...meh.)

I just gave up, and was going to Orzammar from the very nearest area right outside in order to see if giving her the pet would take me out of the friendzone, and poof, the dwarf and ox appeared lol. Bought the shoes, but apparently they weren't needed. I just had to pick a certain dialog option.
