Got a fresh new copy of ME1 and i got it today.

When i try do extract it and install it (tried on both my drives) it extracts until 24,6% everytime and i stops there.

It says that it's problem with running "saferun.exe" and sometimes it doesn't say anything at all :/


It feels like it a problem with the disc-copy and not a computer-related issue since my copy of Dragon Age installed and runs perfectly.

Yes i can post computer speccs and what not but i didn't since in my experiences theese issues are often due to a disc that wasn't copied right during production. I just want a second opinion before sending it back or an alternative gamedownload option tip since my CD-key works just fine

Yeah, I think you're right. Only other thing to do would be to see if it installs on a different computer if you have access to one.

Regarding using your CD key to download the game, I know Bioware games can be downloaded from the EA Downloader from Dragon Age Origins onward with your CD key. But I'm not sure if ME1 can be.

Manually copy the contents of the disk to a folder on one of your drives and try installing from there.

@Kloreep: Great tip with the Download manager.
Only bad news was that ME1 doesn't seem to be able for download from using your cd-key :/
Pretty bad imo since you can buy from their e-store. Oh well worth a try at least

Update:

Got another copy back from where i bought it since nothing else worked. Installed it and everything worked fine except for microsoft Visual c+++ by some weird coincidence.
I ignored this and the game finished installing anyways.
When i launch it the configurater makes an error and won't continue loading but instead exiting the game, and it does it everytime i try evern after computer restart.

I read something about a patch 1.02 for W7 users that made everything better, is this the kind of issue it's supposed to solve?

Either way, i uninstalled the game and restarted computer to install it again but after i enter the CD-key now it won't install. Is this the legendary DRM issues i've heard about? then how do i get rid of it?
