Why ME3 needs bi or homosexual relationship opportunities.

I don't mean to start a old discussion or a war with the people who directly oppose this opportunity in ME3, it's just part of what made ME1 such a great hit was the very limited option to fraternize with the same sex, though apparently they couldn't be of the same species. That, and the story, customization elements, and gameplay, but the chance to couple with or annoy to death a party member can't be overlooked. Some die hard fans would hate to have their favorite crush changed by including the option to hook up with anyone, but in the same sense, I've played games where I chose a male or female character, no because I particularly wanted that experience, but because the game limited development of a class or relationships due to the character's sex. I tend to play females, but if I jumped in to playing a male character who can still make the same dialog choices as the female counterpart, would a alien or even a futuristic human feel any particular qualms about exploring such a thing?
Please, Bioware, at least give us a couple of options in the new game. You don't have to go all DA and make everyone open, just some of them. Image IPB

That would be resonable, if they also got rid of the other relationships, too. As it is, Bioware keeps including the options, so they must think the system is worthwhile. I'd just suggest making it a little more inclusive.

Considering the size of the infamous "Fight For the Love" thread has reached nearly 200 pages at this point, it's a fair guess Bioware got the hint.

Legion just wants somebody to fill his hole.

We have reached a consensus. Legion needs some lovin, Shepard.

Even robo-doll love would be a small improvement over the choice between 'roided-good guy, a cat-headed stick in the mud, or a dying frog. Adding women or <shiver> robots would make my 10 or so character playthroughs a lot more varied and humorous.

Bioware: Relationships for all!
Some Fans: Booo!
Bioware: Very well, no relationships for anyone!
All Fans: Booo!
Bioware: Hmm... Relationships for some, miniature American flags for others.

I guess it would be easier to modify a PC version of Mass Effect to adjust a single relationship flag in a character's data than assume Bioware would just remove the condition altogether.
I can see how making the inclusion of such a character change in a existing character would annoy some, so I'd just like the option for any new squad mates who are introduced as romancable in ME3.
As it happens, I actually never bothered with a romance with Ash, the photo is just the random one I picked this week.

I'm still holding out hope for Kaidan. But hope does tend to fade with passing time.

My God, Bioware, make it happen. Galactic messiahs are best served gay.

Hell, you know what? If there were gay options, I'd play as ManShep more often.

^This, even if your not trying to identify with your personal Shep with actions and dialog you'd make, the extra options might let people have a more varied experience during their 5th, or more, playthrough. I know have playthroughs for almost every romance option and/or paragade choice, and I assume even straights would like the option even if just to turn it down. I'd rather shoot down couple of unwanted advances than never be given the choice. Maybe I can be so mean about it that Jack cries, hah!

No offence here but I might agree with you if you were not male, indicating you play femshep and wanting Jack as your LI.

Or maybe im just reading into it too seriously. Hard to tell sorry.

Only if it's part of the character, not just for the sake of fans( really hate Anders bi-LI in DA2).

and plus with all the controversy with homosexuals in reality... the game would get so much with homosexuality.... just like ME1 got mistaken for porn. :\\

No, I'd rather have the option to play female and be interested in Tali or well anybody other than Jack. I've only bothered once to keep Jack alive during the SM. I'd like to say that I have a femShep game for all the guys, but I skipped through 90% of the dialog with Thane and still was still concidering blowing off the whole thing and deleting that career. Jacob and Garrus are now just lost causes unless there's a gigantic reveal in ME3 that makes rushing through a game again worthwhile.

Making any of the old romance options bi when they weren't before would be stupid, but other than that I don't have a problem with the idea. Kelly should be expanded into a full love interest, for example. I'd prefer that they don't go the DA 2 route and just take the easiest way out and make everyone bi, though.

wouldnt it be a bit weird for shepard to be straight in ME1 and ME2 and then suddenly he's gay in ME3?

Shepard is as gay or straight as the player. Shepard's gender and personality aren't set in stone. Why would Shepard's sexual orientation. A male Shepard has no gay options, therefore he can't act on it but that doesn't necessarily mean he wouldn't be gay. A female Shepard can certainly be a lesbian, however, she doesn't have the opportunity to flirt with all the woman on the ship. The NPCS are people with specific attributes and personalities, Shepard is not.
